I enjoy studying history and since we’ve been using our current history curriculum these past two years the children have also been enjoying the study of history. We’re currently working through the events through Creation up through the Resurrection of Christ and it’s been neat to see how it all fits, but sometimes we can forget how things go together – such as how secular history coincides with Biblical/Christian history.

Are your kids interested in History? Do you want them to be? Seriously the Big Book of History is a 15 FOOT fold out time line of history! Kids will go crazy over this thing! The book opens up and you can go page by page (sort of ) or pull the whole thing out for a 15 foot long timeline. It begins with creation and has a ton of information from there all the way to 2010. This history book is a huge time-line that can be pulled out and looked at. It is 15 feet long covering the time from Creation to Modern Computers. I, at first, was not very happy with this product. I was expected a history book that included a time-line, not a time-line that is the history book. What a neat way to learn history! Big Book of History: A 15 foot fold-out time-line from Creation to Modern Computers from MasterBooks would be a great way to see how our world changed, from creation to current times. My Thoughts-
I loved the Big Book of History. Its panels folded out fifteen feet and were full of information.
B wanted to take a look at it as soon as I opened the package. He had fun unfolding the time-line and zooming along in history. B and I enjoyed laying on the floor learning about the history of the world.
C and I spent less time as this was not a current interest of hers, but she did enjoy the time she spent with me reading the information she wanted to learn.

In our plan for schooling we will most likely follow a Classical Christian approach with a repeating four stages of history (Ancients ~5000 BC - AD 400, Medieval/Renaissance 400-1600, Late Renaissance/Early Modern 1600-1850, Modern 1850-Present day) and keeping a timeline will be very important to have a tangible way to look at facts.
