It would be too easy to say that Bailey Fawley's life changed in a flash. The harsh reality is that SHE changed in an instant when a quantum technology discovery remotely tampers with her most personal possession - her soul. Bailey travels to discover the source of her core violation only to find governments competing to obtain the technology. Violated is a combination of ...more

I had high hopes for this book. The idea of someone having their soul stolen by technological means piqued my interest. Unfortunately, I was disappointed (underwhelmed) by the author's choppy, thin writing style. Characters haphazardly show up in the story without proper introduction or meaningful development, which makes it hard to establish any emotional connection to them. I didn't think the romance element worked at all;it seemed contrived. The one relationship you actually thought might ...more

I've read better FanFic for free on the internet. This book was full of grammatical errors, cliched writing, and characters who acted nonsensically. I should have known this book was going to be bad when the very first paragraph starts off with a male character waking up with a 'stiffy' (author's exact term).

The book as 5 stars on Amazon, and it looked like an interesting premise, but after the second page I was only reading to see how bad it could get. Trust me. It got BAD. I stopped reading a

This book describes a spiritual zombie plague, as opposed to a physical one. I found it's writing a little weaker in some places, but never so weak as to distract from the characters. The main character, known as Bailey, isn't someone I could identify with; but that didn't make her less interesting here. Essentially, I liked this book for it's dedication to the premise and it's consistent moral standard. It also raised some questions on the nature of humans souls, which is what it promised. It's ...more

Granted, this is not usually the genre of books I read, but I wanted to try something different. I don't think it was the genre I disliked, but the writing was very "loose", the characters weren't very greatly developed and while I love a good twist, they often behaved in a way that seriously contradicted their earlier development. I just don't think the ideas were developed thoroughly.

Steve Gerber graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in communications and took a job in advertising. To keep himself sane, he wrote bizarre short stories such as "Elves Against Hitler," "Conversion in a Terminal Subway," and "...And the Birds Hummed Dirges!" He noticed acquaintance Roy Thomas working at Marvel, and Thomas sent him Marvel's standard writing test, dialoguing ...more
