This story is a nice, feel-good story with lessons that can be taught in the classroom during the reading. It can be used to reinforce the steps of learning a skill and the end result of hard work. It can help students realize that you don't go out and just perform or know something; That most things are learned and practiced to result in mastery. Students who love horses would enjoy reading this book. I would probably use it in my classroom library for independent reading.
