A must read book! Abramson too hit the mark on balancing romance with suspense and the twist with fairy tale ending of the finding your prince was fabulous! I liked how Abramson touched on the subject that a lot of youth will face in finding, dating and marrying someone of their own faith. There is an internal struggle with the characters of following the Church standards in marrying someone who can take you to the temple and falling in love with someone that isn't of your own faith even if they...more

I got Royal Secrets for Mother's Day and I was really excited because I'd wanted to read this book since it came out. I apologize to all the other books on my TBR list because Royal Secrets went to the top of the list, as in, I started reading it immediately and ignored all the other books I'd been reading until Royal Secrets was done.

Royal Secrets is the sequel to Royal Target. In Royal Target we are introduced to the royal family of Meridia who needs the services of CIA agent Janessa Rogers t...more

Abramson makes the most ridiculous scenarios seem plausible. This is the second in the series, but can stand alone. In the little country of Meridia, Crown Prince Stefano is recovering from an accident at the family villa. There he meets Alora who has come to be a personal assistant to his future sister in law Janessa Rogers. (Janessa is ex-CIA, LDS, engaged to the younger brother, Prince Garrett and was the romance from the first novel). Alora was also a CIA analyst before being widowed and lef...more

This book is very cute! Alora DeSanto has just gone through a very tragic event with her two sons. She needs help and the Royal family of Meridia has offered to help her. It has to take place her because they need the Royality so the setting is very important. The main problem is keeping Alora and the royal family safe. Some terrorist have been after them for a while because one of the sons does not believe in the Meridian church. The other son is Stefano the Prince that is tall, dark and handso...more

Sequel to Royal Target and the same applies: a good squeaky-clean LDS romantic thriller. No marvelous writing, deep insights, or difficult conflict but it was a quick enjoyable story. In the first book an LDS CIA agent is assigned to help protect the royal family of Meridia and she falls in love with the prince. In this second book, it's the prince's older brother and heir to the throne who falls in love with a former CIA agent, brought in by her friend to help plan the royal wedding started in...more

Once again, another fantastic book by Traci Hunter Abramson! I started reading it to destress and couldn't stop! Now it's one in the morning and I'm desperately wanting the next Royal book! This one keeps your attention thoroughly and although you may know who some of the bad guys are, you don't know all of them, or why. You go back and forth between You go back and forth between characters, but it is done well enough to not cause problems! I was completely shocked by the ending! That was a very...more

Royal Secrets is the long-awaited sequel to Royal Target and picks up shortly after Royal Target ends. Those of you who follow the blog know that I am a big fan of Traci’s Saint Squad series and how Traci weaves romance into her suspense. Royal Target and Royal Secrets are my guilty pleasures, though, based more in romance yet with enough of Traci’s classic suspense to keep things moving at a good pace.

Royal Secrets (and Royal Target) appeal to me because for a little while, I get to suspend rea...more

Definitely geared to LDS readers. This present day "fairytale" is a continuation of "Royal Target" which contains two men (who just happen to also be princes) that are "tall and dark, with chiseled features" and two women who are smart, attractive, and multi-lingual (who also happen to be CIA agents). By page three of chapter one you have the ending figured out. Clean, fluff reading to distract you while exercising or to read while sick in bed when you can't concentrate too much. Otherwise, ......more

Alora DeSanto and her two sons are the only survivors of a bomb that killed her whole family (yes, extended family too) when their affiliation with the CIA was leaked. Three years later, she accepts a temporary job from her friend Janessa Rogers (from Royal Target) as her personal assistant to help her balance her job and preparations for her upcoming wedding. Arriving early on the scene, Alora and the boys spend time with Meridia's heir, Stefano, developing a strong friendship and dependence on...more

I finally read one of Traci Hunter Abramson's books. I loved it! This CIA agent turned author writes the perfect balance of intrigue, exploring religious issues, and the beautiful fairy tale. I am anxious to read more of her Royal books, including whatever must surely come after this one. The main characters were heroes I could admire. I loved the sense of family, how the family always comes first. I would love to get to know this royal family better.

Really enjoyed this. It was nice to pick up on the continued story of Janessa and Garrett. The main characters this time are Alora DeSanto, Janessa's friend and Stefano, Garrett's older brother and the crown prince. Alora has two sons - Giancarlo and Dante. She is Italian. She worked for the CIA in the past and lost her CIA first husband to a bombing of their home in Paris.
There are still bad guys carrying out plans in Meridia.

(Genre:LDS fiction/romance) I really enjoy Abramson's books so I was very excited that she had a new one out. This is a sequel (kind of) to her book "Royal Target". It introduces Alora, a widow with 2 small boys, who is hired by her friend Janessa to be her personal assistant. Janessa is engaged to marry the younger son of the king of Meridia (small fictional country in Southern Europe) and knew Alora back when both of them worked for the CIA. So when it appears that someone wants to eliminate t...more

As much as I love books by this author, I just can't get into this series. I did like Royal Secrets more than Royal Target, but I just can't relate. Maybe if I were royalty it would mean more. Usually plot doesn't turn me off to a book, but in this case it does. Of course, that doesn't mean I wouldn't read another book in the series if it came out, so it does have some sort of appeal. Maybe because it is such a quick read.

Kindle version: I must of missed the 1st book in this series considering there's a whole other story with Janesse and Garrett. But as a sequel this book can stand alone and was very good. Compared to her other books a little slow, not as intense and a easy read. Overall it was still a good combination of romance, royalty, how LDS religion is over taking the royalty of MErida. And love Alora and her story with her 2 boys.

Please see this previous review to see Why I like this author's books. Thank you - now that you know my expectations/reason for reading this book I can review it.

Review: I enjoyed reading this book. Out of all of the books I've read by this author I think I enjoyed this one and Royal Target more than the Saint Squad Series.

I liked the characters. I enjoyed getting to know Stephano better. In Royal Target he seemed kind of arrogant and distant, and I had even considered him as the 'bad guy' at o...more

This book was okay... but I was very disappointed when I started reading it and realized that it is a sequel to "Royal Target." It says this NO WHERE on the cover of the book or immediately inside. I only realized it because I happened to read the authors introduction to the book.

But I didn't want to wait and read the first book since I already had this book in my hands. It was a fun foreign royal family story, similar to maybe the Princess Diaries...though maybe not similar. I don't know. It is...more

Probably my favorite book so far by this author. The mystery was well written, the romance predictable but enjoyable, with just the right amount of conflict before having it all come together in the end. The CIA element was a nice blend with the rest of the story. I nominated this one for the 2012 Whitney award, and I hope to find the time to read the previous book in this series.

Wonderful book. Clean romance, Great for a teen. Alora is asked to help her friend Janessa plan her wedding to a Prince, and Alora meets Stefano, another Prince, and falls for him. I couldn't put this one down. It is the sequel to Royal Target, written many years ago. But, the first one was so fun, I still remember much of it. This kept moving, and I really loved it!

This was a great sequel to this series. I liked how the POV was of other characters then the first book but the first book's characters were still very present in this book. I thought I had this one cracked. I was close, but not quite close enough, lol. Love the James Bond type plots going on and the characters are very cool and fun to read about! :)

Abramson has a talent for placing credible people in incredible situations and pulling it off--I read this book off and on in the course of a day and until a little past midnight because I was well and truly hooked. Yes, it's a "popcorn" book, a fairytale/romance/suspense book, but it's enjoyable and well worth the read if you like LDS novels. Minor criticism: Some characters who speak very formally (perhaps because they're royals or supposed to be speaking French) infrequently come up with a ja...more

This was an o.k. book. I enjoyed her first one more. I felt that is was almost......a little tooo juvenile. Maybe it could be that I was listening to it on cd and the guy who was reading it was really making the attraction the two people felt to each other seem very....weird, I guess. I don't think guys should read relationship books written by a girl.

Once again, Traci Hunter Abramson does it. She captivates me from the very moment I pick up the stinkin' book. And it's bad. Because then I don't do anything. And I love that I can make predictions that are right, for the most part, but I still have things that I can't figure out. It's great.
Casey
At first I was disappointed in the ending, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the fact that everything wasn't wrapped up nice and tidy. I kinda feel like the story isn't over yet though. Maybe she'll write a third book? Is there a third brother out there maybe? :)

This was an awesome book definitely would recommend it to my friends. Great suspense, and romance as well. Loved the characters and felt that they were well defined as to who and what they were. It kept me guessing til the very end as to who the villain actually was. My only wish is that there was a sequel to this one as well.
Tracy
Royalty, undercover CIA agents, family in love--all those elements that make an interesting book. At first I thought it would be just another lds fluff story, but the author does a nice job of weaving several stories together and keeping you guessing.

Traci Abramson is one of my favorite authors. When I hear she has a new book released I run out and buy it. Her books are well written and easy to read. They combine a bit of suspense and mystery with romance. I loved this follow up book to Royal Target. It's been so long in between books in this series that I had to remind myself what the last book was about! I really enjoyed this read. :)

LDS fiction. Completely clean.

This one is better than the first one and very satisfying to me.I like Prince Stefano better
than Prince Garrett. I also liked Alora and her sons very very much.I do hope there are more stories to come in the Country of Meridia.
Susan
The Meridia royalty is about to be conquered by members of the LDS Church. Two beautiful women, who are members of the CIA, are very handy to have around while terrorists seek to destroy the King and his family. Looks like a double wedding!
Tori
Loved this book!!! I love the way that there was a little spin from the last book. My whole family loved this story. The romance and the intrigue mixed with a little suspense was great! Is there going to be another one?
Liz Livingston
I read this while I had the flu. If you have read Traci's books, you know you are in for a harmless romance/adventure romp. I enjoy being able to do that--just escape for an hour or two for fun.
