That line from Tolstoy about happy and unhappy families shares a lot of similarities with uneventful narratives and tales of inequality and injustice: the former types are often the same thing happening (a disneyfied version as analyzed earlier today on my favourite podcast) while that latter almost always vary in unpredictable, even emergent, ways.
