Review brought to you by OBS staff member Autumn

Cassandra has had a very troubled life. She was the only survivor in an accident that steals her parents away. She dreams that a mysterious handsome stranger pulled her from the wreckage, only to deliver her to the hospital just in time to save her life. It is the same stranger that has been watching and guarding over her for her entire life.

She tries to hold herself together and at the same time she puts together clues that may point to her savior...more

I had mistakenly assumed this would be a regular paranormal/romance however there is a lot more to this story. There were elements of mystery, vigilante justice, psychology and unbelievably romance thrown into this mix. It definitely had me curious as to how this heroine and her love would be together in the end. An unexpected ending and refreshingly not sappy.

Don't let the cover fool you. This novel isn't what it seems. Although slow in parts, the story was entertaining in a bizarre kind of way. I particularly liked the mention of the West Aussie locations. I give it 3 and a half stars.

Great job Gladys!!!
Loved it, read it in just over an hour!!!!
Can't wait for number 2!

A page turner from start to finish. The author cleverly alternates good and monstrous human qualities throughout the book to keep the reader’s fascination burning, as well as surprises the reader with unexpected ideas of the Ghost being a monster or a saving-the-innocent vigilante. There are well planned twists and turns in the story, when you think there are no surprises anymore, boom comes another. I had to stop reading half way, and I could hardly wait to get back to finish the book. I recomm...more

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Cassandra was abused by her stepfather. She is rescued by a seemingly guardian angel. After the events she has now memory that they ever happened. She since then has survived a near death experience, where yet again she is saved by her dream guy,Alexi. Yes, he actually appears in her dreams and through the dreams she falls in love with him. Unfortunately it turns out he's real, kind of. He's a vampire, who only preys on the worst of the crimi...more

Interesting but fizzled at end...
Decided to try this author/story when it was available as a free download. I would have rated it as 3 stars up until the end. Although I agree with another reviewer that the writing was a bit amateurish/fan fiction-ish (and the formatting errors in my copy took away from smooth reading flow), I was quickly drawn in by the story, as well as the twist on the traditional vampire lore.

Unfortunately, there were too many critical points either glossed over (um, the "gi...more

I kept alternating between 3 and four stars for this one. It was a 3.5, but I was debating whether or not it was more on the four side or the three side. I decided it was a little bit more 4 than 3. (: HOWEVER, I felt that the book needed a little bit more description/ reasoning for some parts. The only real problem was the end where a certain event just happened. I felt like it was just thrown in there out of the blue. I think that if the author had maybe did a few chapters to lead up to this,...more

Hot,steamy love scenes that were well explained and plotted out in this story. The story line flowed well.

Cassandra had a horrible childhood of abuse from her stepfather. She is saved by an unknown "Angel" that only she can see.Throughout her life in her times of need and sorrow her angel is always there to help her and love her.

In her dreams she sees a beautiful dark haired man who comes to her and makes love to her.She falls in love with this man from her dreams. He loves her too but knows it c...more

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the idea(concept) of this book, but finished it being disappointed at the ending. Seeing that a sequel is forthcoming made me happy. I felt too much was unresolved, but that it was not a true cliffhanger. I may actually update this review after the new one comes out. It was good enough that I want to read the next one :). I liked that it had a true element of horror.

I purchased a copy of the e-book while it was free on Amazon. This is book one in The Dream Series. Cassie has struggled and overcome many obstacles throughout her life. Some of those, she can't even remember. Since her parents died in a car crash, she has been having dreams of a dark haired man, coming and comforting her in her time of need. As the years pass by, her dream man seems to become more real and more intimate. She begins questioning him of why he only comes to her in her dreams and w...more

This Paranormal romance had a different spin on vampires and their interactions with humans. In the dream state, he is himself, a gorgeous specimen of man who rides to the rescue of many damsels in distress as the dark haired guardian angel. In the flesh he is a hideous beast fighting to come to terms with what he has become and must do to survive. He can never be human again unless he can find someone to love him as a monster. Then he saves Cass.

Why he is attracted to just one of his rescues is...more

FIRST! why the hell is it that whenever anyone has given this book less than 3 stars there are comments with people arguing??? Jesus Christ, get over youself! Not everyone is going to think your Moonlight ripoff is the dogs bollocks. If you can't take honesty, don't write.

This follows the story of Mick St John and Beth Sorry, my mistake... No it isn't, this IS Moonlight. This author cannot make a story of her own and obviously has to copy others. I'm sorry, but that is fact. If you want to right...more

First I want to say THANK YOU Gladys for having a book that doesn't have vampires are pretty little diamonds!

Getting into the book was easy within the first couple of sentences I couldn't put the book down. I had to know more and learn more about each mystery that slowly surfaced and continued. Cassandra is one of those that is just born unlucky I think. She has to survive so many bad things that happen in her life. However she has had the help of her guardian angel. Years of being together the...more

I love a good romance, so when I saw this book, I thought it sounded interesting. And interesting it was!

Cassie is a fantastic character. She is a loving and warm person, but she has a secret. When she goes to sleep, she is visited by her dream man. He has been in her dreams since she was 17 years old.
We never find out his name, but this mysterious man is very much alive and in love with Cassie. He protects her, and others like her, from the human monsters living in the world, even though he see...more

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.
Great book! I believe this is the author's first book, and let me say she did a wonderful job! I was so engrossed with this story that I did not want to put it down. It is a love story like no other,
Cassie is a young woman who had a troubled childhood, that she can not remember. All she knows is that a Guardian Angel saved her and he visits her while she sleeps and in her trouble times. That was a unique twist to this book as I have n...more

I want to say congratulations to Gladys Quintals first book! The Man of My Dreams really got my attention. There were a couple jumpy spots which made me pause and have to re-read it to better understand but the book turned out to be a great reading experience!
This book has it all, love, horror, friendship, loss, birth and moral obstacles for the main character Cassandra (Cassie) to overcome! Is her dream man really the ghost who has saved many from being raped or murdered including herself and...more

Man of my Dreams (The Dream Series Book 1)
By Gladys Quintal

I received a copy of Man of my Dreams in a contest. I absolutely loved this book. So much I read it all in an hour. Gladys had me screaming at her on the last page. Thankfully book 2 is already out and I can run out and get it to read. Haven't we all wished to have the man of our dreams come to us? What would you do if you find out that there may be something dark to your fantasy lover? Could you love the man for all side...more

There is someone out there, who is killing rapists and murderers, but leaving no trace. And he's killing them before they get the chance to hurt anyone. The police call him The Ghost.--Cassie is going thru a tough time, but all seems well because of this dream man. He only comes to her in her dreams, but he makes her feel safe. So who is to question it? Its not until Cassie herself is in danger, that she realizes The Ghost, and her dream man, are one and the same, or are they? Maybe that is what...more

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Waar.

Cassie is a young woman with a troubled past she can’t remember. All she knows is her Guardian Angel came and saved her and visits her in her dreams. She wishes he was real and comes to think that maybe he is. Cassie’s Guardian Angel is known by local media as the Ghost; a mysterious man who saves women from predators. The police say he’s a serial killer who leaves his victims shredded and drained of blood. But as he’s...more

My Thoughts:
So this was a free read that I got on amazon I think. I wasn't to sure about it and read some reviews and happy dance. I'm now happy I read it because the story was different - the good different.
The Review:
Time passes through this book a lot. From her childhood to her adult hood. Normally this confuses me, but for once I wasn't. <--- Another good thing about the book.
Now the emotional overload in this book is wow. I wasn't expecting the events that happened in the first book to...more

A review of The Man of My Dreams by Gladys Quintal

The plot idea is good, the cover is dreamy but the writing needs work. As an indie writer I'm very forgiving of the tiny editorial errors that creep into the independently published novels that I read but the writing style really bothered me - such as the tense of the book changing oddly and the inconsistency of the voice of the author. I'm also not a huge fan of parental sexual molestation in a book. I know that this seems naive but as someone w...more

What a unique concept! I don't want to spoil the storyline for people who are yet to pick up this book, but Quintal has done a great creative job with this romantic paranormal novel. I'm fairly new to the genre, Man of My Dreams being only the second vampire-tale I've read. The first was Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (the Sookie Stackhouse series that started the TV show True Blood) and you know what? Man of My Dreams was SO much better than Harris' book.

Here's why: Dialogue in Harris' bo...more

I received this e-book for free through a contest. I was wonderfully surprised how well written the book was. The story line was very thought out. I read this book in one day and loved it and dying to see what happens next. This is the genre that I do typically read a lot. This book is well written like one of Christine Feehan's books. The story line flowed will well.

The story is about Cassie through from a young age til adult a mysterious man keeps saving her from certain dea...more

The premise and the plot of the story is amazing.
I liked Cassie's story but had a real problem with the circumstances regarding rape etc
It seemed, to me, as if the rape scenes' horific as they were, were also told to be sensual.
This is a private pet peeve of mine and the reason I am giving this book less stars than it should be getting.
Some editing issues is present but that is something that can be fixed.
All in all, this is a good romance. If I did not have the prejudices I have, I am sure I w...more

I love everything paranormal - especially Vampires and after watching the TV show Moonlight, I was inspired to write my first Vampire Romance novel (The Man of my Dreams).
