I think some of the best GFY can be found free online. This is another great example of an amateur writer who spins an affecting tale of a young man drowning in the power of his new and confusing emotions.

Seb is a grad student who also works as a tutor for vulnerable youth. He is assigned to tutor Eli, a violent and tortured young man. Seb is drawn to Eli's plight and the more Eli pushes him away the more Seb wants to prove that he cares. This story is very sexy and fascinating but at the same t...more

This was such a tender and touching love story. Eli is a boy who has been neglected and left to fend for himself and has lost the ability to trust the world. As a result he lashes out to anyone who tries to get close but when he meets Sebastian he finds it is not so easy to do.

Sebastian has grown up in a world of good friends and family. Intelligent and social he has certain expectations of his life and the last thing he expects is to have his life turned upside down when...more

I don't want to be mean... but I must be honest. I love this book, but I can't give more than 2 stars

Yes, it's a free story, and I know I must be grateful for it... and I'm... from the bottom of my heart, I must say Thank you to L. Arthur for posting it as a freebie .

But I must also be very truthful, and say I would never finish this story... but I did, because a friend of mine ask me to read it and give my opinion about it (Thanks Fiona! I appreciate your recommendation! )

Wait, let me start s...more

I loved this story. It was so well written with tons of detail and in-depth characters that you can't help but be drawn to. The books is a bit on the dark side but Sabastion kept it from being too much. He added a lot of wicked humor to the plot. Eli is easly one of my favorite characters. He's so broken to the point that you don't know if he can be fixed or at least fixed enough to be in such a relationship. However it all pulled together and you really believed their relationship. Truely an aw...more

Sebastian and Eli were so sweet together. I loved both their individual characters and them as a couple. This is not the typical romance novel, its a very dark story and has a lot of twists and turns. I was actually surprised by most of the twist and turns which is good for me because normally I see them coming. I am not sure how the author came up with this story, I really really loved it. Reading books like this one always keeps me gripped. I hope to read more of this authors work :)

This was a good story about Sebastian, a 20 year old man who is lonely and convinced he'll never find the love of his life. He's dated a few girls but none have been the one. He buries himself in work in order to take his mind off of his lonely life. Then he meets Eli. Eli is 17 and has a miserable life. His dad is AWOL. His mother abandons him for her job, not caring much (in my opinion) if the kid lived or died. He's angry all the time and he lashes out both physically and emotionally. This is...more

I’m scrambling for words with this story… in a lot of ways it was really good, but at the same time it was uneven and a bit disturbing.

Sebastian is a twenty-ish college student. All of his friends are happily paired off and constantly bugging him about finding someone, problem is Sebastian doesn’t just want anyone…he wants his one true love and he wants to start a family. In order to spend as little time as possible with his friends he throws himself into his work as a tutor. There he meets a t...more

I wanted to give this 4 stars but I couldn't. I really liked Sebastian and wanted him to have his HEA, with that being said... I think he made something outta nothing. I seriously think he got involved with a messed up kid and took advantage. Not in a sexual predator kinda way, (because i really thought he was a nice guy) but in a way that a kid who's already messed up is going to be vulnerable to. To make a long story short, I just didn't see the love connection there. And then the las...more

Gay-For-You Romance with lots of angst.

It's the love story between Eli, a bad boy and Seb, a good boy. Eli comes from a single parent family and has been terribly neglected by his mum since he was 10. He is now 17 and really messed up (drugs, fights, no friends, no family etc.). Seb comes from a loving family and is in a prestigious university. He is 20, I think. Inexplicably intrigued/obsessed by Eli, he tries to befriend Eli against Eli's will. He saw something worth saving in Eli and fought t...more

Wow! This was such a surprising good story. I could hardly put it down and was compelled to read on until I had finished it. And then felt sad that it was over. It was that good.

(view spoiler)[ I fell in love with Sebastian from the very first pages of the story. He had a funny way of looking at things that made me laugh out loud frequently in the initial chapters. The way he reacted to meeting Eli and the justifications he would give himself to avoid the truth were just so hilarious. I couldn't...more

Very impressive story. Great character development. I really enjoyed the inner commentary of the MC...probably because I have a similar running inner commentary in my head on my own life. I became invested in the MCs quickly and enjoyed the development of their relationship. I was not bothered by the fact that one of the MCs was 17 and the other 20, even though it technically can be a problem legally. There is really less than 2 years age difference and it was important for the story for the one...more

1st and only person to give it three stars… Now I feel almost obligated to review it.

Too bad I am so lazy. I will just say it was ok but I never saw the connection between these two and I didn’t really like that Eli was underage and still in school. And then when he stabbed the MC with his pocket knife I was just like ok and you love him why? And the drug use. And the no condoms. And using chapstick for lube?? Just wasn’t realty my thing. Three stars because I never struggled with reading it bu...more

For a free online story this was really pretty good, after I ignored a few things that bothered me. It was a little slow at the beginning but once the story got going it was hard to put it down even with the few niggles I had with it. I had a hard time overlooking the no condom thing, there was a lot of discussion about finding lube but never a mention about condoms??? And I’m not such a fan of the GFY story line anymore, the more educated I become the more I have a hard time believing t...more

I loved this story because of the characters. Sebastian and Eli are wonderful together and you get to see their care and loving in so much more than words. Sebastian is a true care-taker and Eli is really in need of one. Eli has had a hard life and thinks that no one can really care about him, but Sebastian does and it made me smile and cry (sometimes as the same time).

I also loved Matthew. He was a great supporting character and I would love to see a story about him and Wesley.

Sebastian is a tutor and Eli, a 17 year old student comes to the office. Seb is not his tutor, but he feels drawn towards the boy whom he has never met. After following Eli home (creepy), Seb kind of bullies his way into Eli's life with pizza and take-out. Maybe "hey kid, want some candy" might have worked also. Seb discovers that Eli is alone and barely making ends meet. His mother is working somewhere and barely sends enough money for Eli to eat, much less run any utilities. Eli has some emoti...more

It was weird and I have a bit of trouble with the fact that Eli is under 18 (isn't that technically not legal?) but other than that, it was really adorable. Sebastian, this child. He's so adorable. I totally agree with Matthew about the "he's all good" judgment, as vague as it is. It just...is.

The reconciliation with the mom seemed a little too easy to me, but it did kind of make sense because she was doing all that for Eli's sake-ish.

This is honestly my favorite book in the world. I cried so hard when it was over. I wish that Sebastian and Eli were real and my best friends, even though Eli's three years older than I am and Sebastian six years. I obsessed for two days until I finally finished this, and I just re-read the entire thing. I've never read anything better in my life. Nothing can compare to this, hands down. I felt like I was actually there, living through all of this and fell in love with Eli and Sebastian....more

The way the sex scenes are written is quite juvenile (the repeated use of member when referring to a penis was laughable) - almost as if the author is embarrassed to be writing them. I don't have huge issues with the age difference but I might have had Sebastian remained Eli's tutor. But it was the style I didn't really enjoy.

I loved this book. I loved that it was friendship that held everyone together. So sweet and caring of each other and how the past is exactly what it should be past. The future is what matters and the only thing the past should count towards is the person it made us and what we can be!
Kimberly
This was a great story. I like that the relationship develops quickly, but that intimacy is slow to happen. Very impressive free fiction.

I would like to see more about how Eli has survived on his own, I hate that we only see the product of the neglect.

looooved it - it is very easy to read and it never bore me - it is hilarious and romantic and the sex scenes are scorching hot - it definitely is a keeper - i want more of it and i hope that author has more in store for us to enjoy - loved her writting

I could actually believe that it could really happy that once you meet the right person you are meant to be with the person could be he or she and in that moment it wouldn't meter. I had good time reading that story.

So-so. In fairness, this would have been a good read for those who are just starting in m-m romance, but as I had read almost a hundred, I was barely satisfied especially because of the numerous typo errors in the story.

This story has flaws: there are several WTF? moments, the words-misspelled-as-other-words that plague so many free online reads plague this one as well, the story often feels uneven, clunky. And yet. And yet, there were parts that were really, really good. So in all it averages out to 3 stars.
Emily
Usually the whole loving someone in less than 2 weeks of meeting them thing RELLY annoys me, but I didn't mind it with this for some reason. I love this story.
Alicia Nordwell
3.5 really. Lots of angst and silliness but I liked how the author kept true to the character's personalities. I like the cover art for the story as well.
Chris
Pretty good m/m romance about a straight college student who works at a tutoring center and becomes strangely fascinated by a defensive and troubled young man.

A solid 3.5 stars. Eli is a complex character. He starts off not very likable, but little by little he evolves. A good free read.

“Our conversation starts out pretty normal. Matthew does most of the talking, as usual. He tells me about Wesley. He tells me everything. Well, almost everything. I was lucky enough to stop him before he got into the explicit details. Wesley also helped by nudging him with his shoulder. He even covered Matthew's mouth when the conversation took a sudden turn because the word package was used. Yeah, the conversation went from sweet and romantic to soft-core porn in about two seconds.” 1 person liked it
