Cold Blood (Dirty Blood #2)
by
Heather Hildenbrand (Goodreads Author)
Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process.

w o w.... you know i really don't bother with most sequels becasue they usually arent as good as the first, but this was soooo much better and thats saying something becasue the first one was amazing! In this book Tara is sent to Wood point Academy for hunter training, and at first i thought this book wasnt going to be good cause im usually not into the highschool scene but this place and its people blew me away with personality!

Hildenbrand has done it again with this intense sequel to her novel Dirty Blood. I really enjoyed this novel; it’s a bit more spicy than the first, with a love triangle developing (and I’m siding with Alex, sorry Wes), even more action and fights, and a mystery that will have the reader wondering what Miles is really up to. This was a great read, and I’m already jonesing for the next installment!

A friend in my book club came upon this series and recommended it to us and I am so glad she did! This was a fantastic sequel to Dirty Blood. It had new and intriguing characters that were well developed for making their first appearance. Tara is off to Wood Point Academy against her mother's and everyone else's wishes but there she meets Alex. My favorite character in this book. I was instantly a fan and found his complex and stoic demeanor very entertaining to follow... I am impatiently waitin...more
Just as good, if not better than Dirty Blood. I loved the whole concept of Hunter school, and I was equally as enchanted/impressed with Alex as I was with Wes. I hate it when love triangles are written in poor taste, predictable, and cliche. Although I'm quite certain that Tara will end up with Wes in the end, there's still that glimmer of hope, or that HINT of uncertainty that keeps it fresh, new, and heartbreaking in the romance department. ;-)
I'm also starting to like Tara more than I did in...more
OMG! Cold Blood by Heather Hildenbrand totally blew my mind! Seriously, like I literally ran to the comp to write the view as soon as I finished the book! So to be perfectly honest, at the beginning and most of the book until I hit about half way, I was so frustrated! You can totally ask Christina because I was texting her the entire time… So new characters were introduced in this book, I mean obviously right, Tara got sent to Hunter’s school which means new people. Totally ok with that, until...more
Even better than the first!
I really enjoyed this book. I have the circles under my eyes to prove it ;). While I enjoyed the first book in this series, Dirty Blood, I loved this book. I was unsure when she was going to go to "Hunter" school if this book would be too cliche for me and was very pleasantly surprised that it was not. I was a bit stumped by the mystery in this book (love that) and really enjoyed seeing all of the interpersonal relationships as they grew and/or morphed. Heather include...more

"Cold Blood" is another good read in the Dirty Blood series. Tara has been sent off to the Wood Point Academy by her mother. She is none too pleased but promises to behave herself. That was before she discovered how prejudice the students are against people of mixed blood or a "hybrid" as she calls it. She manages to make friends with Cambria and Logan, two misfits. They help make life a little less miserable for her especially with her evil roommate, Victoria.

Where do I start ! Now normally when you read the next book in a series you think or sort of have expectations that it wont be as good as the first. But rest assured Cold Blood is even better. !! Dirty blood book one was great !! But Cold Blood is kick arse full of action, and a fantastic second book in this series. I really enjoyed it - if possible more than the first but saying this I loved the first story !

Wow! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better Heather blows me away again. First Thought: Hotties, combat & HUGE twists!
Ever since I finished up Dirty Blood I have been waiting, not so patiently, for Cold Blood to finish up edits so I could get my grubby little mitts on it. So FINALLY when Heather sent the ARC copies out I ran around the house & did the happy dance.

Tara’s mother and grandmother have decided that she will be safer away from Frederick Falls and have shipped her off to boarding school – an exclusive school for Hunters named Wood Pointe. They figure that not only will she be safe among Hunters, but she will also have a chance to train. No one asked Tara what she wanted to do, of course, but she is not able to do anything about it, so she is uprooted and sent packing. However, word has circulated that she is a dirty blood, and most of the stude...more
The book jumps off right where Dirty Blood left off, with Tara being sent to Wood Point, her mom still being completely close minded and her grandma trying to play peace maker. With Tara starting a new school it's always hard, but damn, this poor girl went through hell. People whispering and pointing is one thing, but flat out hating you because of your DNA is another. Oh, then there's Victoria, the queen Bee. Along with the teasing Tara is being personally trained by a senior Hunter named Alex...more

Though I did like Cold Blood I did not like it as much as the first book. The story line was still good and so was the writing, but the love triangle part of it ruined it a little for me.
I did not like Alex in the beginning at all, but he grew on me as the story progressed. Wes was barely even in this one and what a waste that was because he's a great character. And I loved Tara in the first book and in this one, not so much. She was such a strong willed character in the first book. No, she did...more

Where to start.... My girl Heather has done it again! I have to say I really really loved this sequel to the series. Heather really step up her game and added new characters to her story to make it a hit.
The story starts off where Dirty Blood ended. The big battle in the wearhouse is over and everyone is recouperating and Tara is in big trouble. Her mother is pissed off because Tara is with Wes and wants to help the cause. Her mother wants her daughter to have nothing to d with the cause but Tar...more

Great story - I’m not in love with the cliffhanger – But there is a great set up for the next book - really looking forward to that one : )
This was an awesome story - lots of action and drama :)
We start off with Tara getting ready to leave for Hunter school, just a couple of days after the first book left off. Tara isn't thrilled about leaving her home, her mom and grandmother, her friends and school, but she knows she needs to learn about being a hunter and working towards making Vera’s vision...more

Cold Blood by Heather Hildenbrand starts off right where Dirty Blood ends. Hildenbrand’s writing gets even better with this action packed story. Adding a love triangle to the mix, the lead Tara has a whole lot more on her plate than dealing with the fact she’s not a normal teenage girl. I really enjoyed the second installment and the fantastic twist that I never saw coming.

I didnt LOVE this book as much as the first, probably because Wes was missing a large part from it. And I wasn't really thrilled about the love triangle that was introduced in this one. Don't get me wrong, I loved Alex, but why ruin a great thing? Wes may be a little overbearing at times, but he's SO FREAKIN' HOT! And Alex is so perfect, a girl shouldn't have 2 perfect men to choose from...and why should she have to? I understand that people like conflict in their stories, but we had enough of t...more
Wow, its not often a sequel is even better then the first book but Cold Blood was amazing!
Tara is shipped off to a boarding Hunter school. Wes is in training to take over The Cause. Miles is still out there and leaving Tara threatening messages . Tara has to learn to fight. She also has to deal with everyone at her new school hating her and making fun of her for being a Dirty Blood. Then we meet a lot of new characters that I totally loved.

Surprise, Surprise! I was mesmerised by this book even more than the first! I loved the new characters and the character of Cambria, which was a grand prize right here on NightlyReading to win a character named after you in Heather’s next book, is a great character of BFF. Cambria will be very happy with the character that was chosen for her:)

I was disappointed when Tara leaves Wes and they decide they can't see each other for a semester. Bummer and no fair. I needed my Tara and Wes fix.
Then Tara arrives at a school for hunters and we are thrust into a whole other life for Tara. She enters here on a journey of self discovery and learns she is the one unlikable person in school just because she's a dirty blood.
Not only do we have some Wes in our story, *sigh* but then we also have Alex competing for her attention. Did I mention that I...more

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, Dirty Blood, but this book took it to a whole new level. It has a little bit of everything; werewolves, magic, and at times, I even got a Harry Potter feel from it. I was fortunate enough to read this book before it’s release, and I’m sad the next one isn’t out already.
Coming from a guy’s perspective, you’re always wary of the romance aspect of these stories. It’s a part of so many of them, but with Cold Blood, it’s very well done. The romance...more

So after finishing Dirty Blood which is the first novel of the series I had to buy the second novel right away. I was not expecting this novel to be as good as the first one, it was more then good it was awesome! There was more interaction with characters, good plot line though the location was different and the ending will leave you breathless and wanting more.

I'm almost always afraid of reading the second book in a trilogy. So many of them sag, wander off the plot, and/or have nothing new to add to the overall plot and character arcs.
COLD BLOOD is not one of those books.
I ordered it as soon as I could once I finished reading DIRTY BLOOD. Once again, I was pulled right into Tara's life, this time at Wood Point Academy with the sexy, hot Senior, Alex. The new cast of characters were fun to get to know and were loyal to Tara almost immediately. Even tho...more

I was fortunate to receive a free copy of the book from the author, Heather Hildenbrand, as one of the "Goodreads First Reads" giveaways. This book is Book Two in the DRITY BLOOD series. The book was an author signed edition and to my delight was received in the mail just a few days after I was notified that I won the book. I began reading the book and found myself entering a world unfamiliar to me. I wish that I had been privileged to read the first book in this series DIRTY BLOOD as it would h...more
This book picks up exactly where Dirty Blood leaves off, which I thought was great. Wes is pretty busy taking over duties for the Cause while Jack is still recovering, so unfortunately we don't see him much in the beginning (or at all really). The story follows Tara as she gets settled in to life at Wood Point Academy, a school specifically for aspiring werewolf hunters. She's pretty reluctant at first, not seeing why she needs the extra training and not wanting to be away from Wes for such a lo...more

Ok here we go again.......I hate to say it because the first book was so good. I'm so mad that i wasted time and effort on this book.
