Typical compilation of heartwarming dog stories. Typical "Guideposts" writing, i.e. elementary school level prose. A distressing lack of responsibility on display in a few of the stories (do any of these people own leashes?). If you need something easy and you like dogs, this will fill the bill. You wouldn't want to make a steady diet of it, though, or you'll start to lose IQ points.

Some religious overtones but the publisher is Guideposts so this is expected. A few of the stories are excerpts from books by authors Jon Katz and Margo Kaufman.

I actually bought this for my dad for Christmas, and my mom has bought this for me, they were great short stories. Stories about how great and selfless dogs are, are really something everyone should read once in awhile, puts a smile on your face, and sometimes brings a few tears.

There were so many great stories in this book, although I recognized a few as excerpts from other books I've read. I had to read only one or two stories at a sitting before I'd tear up but it was a nice bedtime ritual while it lasted!
