I'm dying for you to read this!! Dying!! I can't wait and will be on pins and needles until this book is released and in your hands. The series will take a more broad and serious approach. I hope you all enjoy the twist and turns in this book as well as the LOTS of new things that will show up. Maggie won't get a break in this book I'm afraid but she will fight like always. Caleb and Maggie both will grow to become exactly what they were meant to be. Hopefully, you will love them all the more fo ...more

Excuse me, but TODAY is the 13th, when Goodreads told me the book was SUPPOSED to come out. But no, it came out early and I was like HOLY CRAP!!
So I bought it really quickly yesterday, and JUST finished it.

And at first I was really scared because I thought this was the last book and nothing really got wrapped up for Caleb and Maggie. But don't worry it's not. We still get more of hot Caleb.

I'm just wondering though...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE LAST BOOK COMES OUT????????

Sometimes you hear people say that a book starts or ends with a "bang". Well, that doesn't really work for this book because it may as well be one big "bang"! At first I was like, "I wonder if I'll get bored with them in his castle for the whole book..." because I'm a reader that likes different and diverse settings. If their world seems too...closed off, I guess if the word I'm looking for, it can leave me a little bored because I feel like you learn pretty quick what to expect in their world a ...more

Finally, the Reunification is here- but yet, Maggie has a new enemy. Again. This goes much further than it has before- and it only gets worse. Maggie and Caleb are being thrown apart- and the council demands it. While Caleb is locked in a cell, Maggie is forced to meet the demands of her new government.

The council wants her to stay. The worst part, she would be alone. Untrusted and kept in the dark, and Maggie really doesn't have a choice. At least, unless she is willing to defy- and recreate t

Summary:
Maggie and Caleb are in London to meet with the Virtuoso Council. The council is determined to keep them apart while there, but they manage to work around that obstacle. Maggie is trying to adjust to her new role, but those Watson's just don't want to leave her alone. When Maggie's father and Bish are threatened, all bets are off. Maggie's had enough and Caleb's family is there to back her up. Emotions are high, drama continues, wrongs are made right, big surprises are revealed, and of c

So...OMG!!!!! I was so ready for this book and once I started reading, I didn't put it down until I was finished! (I'm a horrible mother, the kids were in bed at 8 p.m.!) I especially enjoyed seeing the growth that Maggie experiences in this book. She grows into a very strong woman and really does learn to handle everything that's thrown her way. Her relationship with Caleb and the rest of the family is dynamic.

It's been so long since I've read a book and been totally invested in the characters.

To say I love Shelly Crane is the understatement of the millenium.

When I finished Accordance, I thought I would die before Defiance came out. Good thing I didn't because I would have missed another fabulous installment of the Significance series.

Defiance provided me with what I consider necessary for a great read-page turning excitement, humor, anger and sensuality. It was full of excitement and danger lurking around every corner with The Watsons around. I got a lot of my humor from the dialogue

First and foremost I would just like to say thank you to Shelly. She dedicated this book to Gloria, Jennifer and me and seeing that meant the world to me. Sometimes you wonder if what you do in life is seen or heard. And after reading the dedication, not knowing I was even mentioned until I read it, I was blown away. It feels good to feel appreciated. So I would like to say thank you for giving me a chance to read your work and thank you for being such an awesome author and friend.

WOW

I devored Defiance in about 3 hours flat. My excitment for this book was seriously borderline stalker-ish, I had a reminder on my G-mail calender, Hotmail calendar, even my work calendar (I said stalker-ish). I've probably read and about 4 times since I bought the first book back at the end of December last year, and Significance instantly became my favorite book of 2011. After reading Defiance I know without a doubt that the Significance series is my new all time favorite series. Ms. Cran

Shelly Crane is a LITERARY GENIUS! I finished Defiance about an hour ago and I had to sit here at my desk and take a moment to gather my thoughts. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and where it is heading. There are so many twists and turns for Maggie and Caleb that you never know what is going to happen to them.

Shelly is a brilliant writer as she draws you in as a reader but you feel like one of the characters in her book. I was so THRILLED when I received this ARC because I have been dyi

YES YES YES YES YEEEEES! Ah, God, I don't think I was ever this excited about a book!! I finally have Defiance!! I'm screaming like a little girl!!! :DDDD
UPDATE:
I read this book yesterday and as you can see in the beginning of the review I was very excited about it. And I was determined to write the best damn review I can do. I started and wrote about the half of it.Then I stopped and just stared at it and thought that no matter what I write it won't be enough to describe how good this book is.

OH MY GOODNESS. Absolutely wonderful. Of course! Shelly has done it again. I knew the imprints would happen and I'm so glad everything turned out good. I CANNOT wait for the fourth book. Hopefully you don't keep us waiting too long! This is by far one of the best series I've ever read. Bravo!

Shelly Crane never ceases to amaze me with her ability to craft a wonderful continuation of one of my favorite series. Now, I am eagerly awaiting book four.

Defiance begins just where we left off. Caleb and Maggie arrive at the reunification only to be bombarded with hostility from the Watson clan. Everyone is not only in awe of Maggie, but also frightened when she becomes angry and sends out her energy ribbons. It is Maggie's mission throughout the s

This series keeps getting better and better! It’s amazing how Shelly keeps surprising me. You would think that with Maggie and Caleb’s relationship basically set in stone the series wouldn’t be as interesting as other books. I know there’s no one else for Maggie but Caleb and that’s one of the reasons why I adore this series so much. I absolutely love their moments together but what really caught my attention were the secondary characters. Like Maggie’s dad, brother and the rest of the Virtuoso ...more

WoWW!! WOWW!!! WOWW!! Amazing book !! Loved it from the start till the end and the cover is just brilliant!!! and I also heard Significance is going to be a movie and that's a great great news!! Shelly Crane you rock!!!

The book starts with Maggie and Caleb and their family goes out to meet them and present Visionary i.e Maggie. Their has been no visionary for long long time and everyone is so happy getting back their visionary back and everyone seems to bow down always whenever they talk to her.

I loved this book! I love the characters - even the baddies. Just goes to show how well Ms. Crane can constuct complex characters, all have their own depth and are unique and all play a vital role in each story.

The story has really progressed along the way with new battles and revelations at every turn, it's intriguing and exciting, never boring. Finally an author who thought outside of the box and just made up her own unique supernatural beings. I salute you!

I was so glad to see Maggie finally

I had about 15% left in this book at the end of October. But I got swept into a buddy read- CITD/SITD and didn't get that last little bit finished for awhile.

Another enjoyable book in this series. The last one comes out next week.

Since the first book, I kept thinking... man, Caleb can't get any better, but he really can! He's PERFECT. He does ANYTHING for her.
The shower and shaving scene! so intimate and exciting!

I LOVE Maggie as the Visionary! She knows what to do, and she's just so great at it. So happy about the way Shelly Crane decided to turn her character. One of my favourite heroines ever.

Donald and Marla! Really? Like, she's the Visionary and everybody loves her and you try to kill her? Wrong move. Deserved wha

I have not been patiently waiting for this book. Because I honestly have no patience. So I'm extremly happy Shelly was able to release Defiance a little early.

Defiance begins just after the Jacobson clan has entered the palace where the Virtuoso Council reside and the race comes to gather at a yearly event called the Reunification. No surprise the Watson Clan came with all of their hateful intentions and lust for power. Though the families are in awe of Maggie and her mark that clearly makes her

I have put off reading Defiance until now (as you can see I didn't last long, not even 2 months) because I know the wait for Independence is going to kill me. This series just sucks you in and captures you. You finish it and you're left thinking about it; that's how good it is! Few stories are like that. I love stories about TRUE LOVE, no love triangles, and that's what this, and all of Shelly Crane's books are about. I'm so sad that Independence is the last book (fingers crossed for a spin off) ...more

Shelly Crane has done it again. This book had it all, tragedy, lies, happiness. Caleb and Maggie grow so much in this book. They are finally being treated as the adults that they now are. While not everyone is thrilled that Maggie is the Visionary, she tries to get the council and fellow Aces to see her for who the real Maggie is and not how they think she should be.

I dont want to give too much away because I know this book dropped earlier than anticipated and I dont want to ruin it for those w

First off let me tell you... there will be gushing... I won't be able to NOT! This series had me hooked in the first chapter of the first book. It is complete Swoony goodness!! This go round Maggie has to deal with being thrown in with her and Caleb's people, plus deal with being the Visionary. There is mystery, action, and tons of Romance!!

I have now labeled Shelly the Queen of Swoon. She knows how to write amazing characters

The Significance series is a fun paranormal romance series that is PERFECT for mature young adults! In the first two novels, Significance and Accordance, Maggie was coming to terms with her new partner, her new life, her new power, and her new enemies. In Defiance, the third novel in the Significance series, Maggie accepts her new life and takes control of her new power. Oh and watch out, Maggie is pretty kick but

1.5 stars. I was hoping that since book 2 was an improvement over book 1, maybe book 3 might raise the bar. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. Even with the Maggie and Caleb dynamic being toned down, I found myself even more disenchanted with the visionary story being pushed to the forefront. It's downright creepy how much importance and reverence is placed on Maggie. Whether or not she accepts or condones it isn't the point. She can be humble all day long and it doesn't matter. The fact remai ...more

Narration - Cris Dukehart - OK

2 Stars...It was OK. But OMG the Scooby Dooooo in this book is off the charts. Such over the top, attempting to be sinister, lamely evil characters and the unbelievably stupid way in which the evil ones are 'handled'. Ugh. I just spent too much time shaking my head and thinking...uhm...why doesn't she just do this...or that? There was just too much danger or drama that wasn't realistic given the powers that Maggie, Caleb and the family possess.

I guess I'm
