I won an autographed copy of this on Goodreads (Thanks Margaret!), and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would probably rate it a 3 and a half, but can justify a 4 better than a 3.
Now keep in mind that I am 42 y/o. I read this book with my 7 y/o daughter and she loved it and urged me to give it 5 stars...so if you want a kids perspective and ultimately that might be more important for the traget audience. We read it every other page (so it is likely appropriate for 6-10 y/o...although...more

I totally enjoyed reading this book and got a big kick out of the ending! It is actually a child's book and I did pass it along to one of my little cousins. At the age of 7 he thought it was great!
This was an ok book my favorite person was colonel peabody and it kept me guessing till the end.I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good childrens book.
I gave this a quick read in honor of Halloween while passing out candy. I thought it was a cute story with a quirky twist at the end.
Very good book. Kids loved it. We have read and read and read it. :)
This is a great read aloud book for the classroom. There's just enough adventure and scariness to make it a very fun read!

It received enthusiastic reviews in the Globe and Mail and CM Magazine and was nominated for the Canadian Library Association's 2009 Book of the Year for Children Award, the 2010/2011 Hackmatack Children's Choice Book Award, and the 2011 Rocky Mountain Book Award. Carried Away on Licorice Days is tailored for an 8 to 1...more
