We've all read this story, and many versions of this story, but I'm recommending this for little ones new to the fairy tales. I love this version--it's a very lush book and the artwork and the telling are not at all scary for small children. This was Aiden's first library book with real pages, and his favorite bedtime book for many weeks. I'm only giving it 4 instead of 5 stars because I still would like to have seen it be a little less verbose "medium-sized Mama Bear's medium-sized bed"--argh! ...more

In this story, there is a little girl named Goldilocks who finds a house in the woods as she is walking one day. This house belongs to the “Three Bears” who have gone out for a walk of their own. Goldilocks walks into their house and through a series of events eats their porridge, breaks a chair, and falls asleep in Baby Bears bed.
This book is easy to read and understand by the Kindergarten students. It does have
colorful pictures and simple text. I read this book for my class and used puppets fo

This version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is retold and illustrated by Valeri Gorbachev. Not too much new about this one, really, except that the illustrations felt quite contemporary. Mama Bear's sporting hoop earrings, and Baby Bear wears a baseball cap. Everything else, though - the forest setting, and the fact that Goldilocks runs off, never to be heard from again, remains true to the original.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a classic story matched with beautiful illustrations. Young readers will truly enjoy this fairy tale while learning things like comparing and measurement. Most importantly they will learn not to take what doesn't belong to them because it just might belong to a bear! :-)
