I consider myself a strategy, finance, and operations expert of sorts. I am definitely not a sales and marketing person. So when I read this book, with its methodical yet engaging approach, I was entranced. I like how the author, Michael Port, first gets you to identify and confront your fears. I have found that by breaking down internal barriers, it is easier to absorb useful information and act on it. Obviously he knows this and successfully incorporates this concept/belief into "Book You More...

Michael Port begins his book practically: "[T:]here may be two simple reasons why you don't serve as many clients as you'd to today. You either don't know what to do to attract and secure more clients or you know what to do but you're not actually doing it" (p. xxvii).

In the pages that follow, he unpacks his "Booked Solid System" to which he ascribes the power to solve both of those stated problems.

I found this book and decided to read it without much thought or consideration - it was good and had a really sound foundation. The biggest problem I had with it was that it was pretty hokey (even though Gitomer says that hokey is good but I think he's hokey too) - the points were solid and the steps to get there would definitely get results. I think it makes a great tool to add to one's toolbelt but shouldn't be the only thing you do/practice in business.

Generally, this is a good book for the service professional, which I am. I'm still in the early stages of the book and am taking it slowly to do the exercises as I go. But they have been clarifying for me who my ideal client is and how best to serve them. From that perspective, Port's ideas are fairly unique. I look forward to finishing the book.

Unbelieveable! I have been going through this book with a book club and it is a major business generator. I have a group of friends that I am moving through it with chapter by chapter and it has really made a difference. I am going to definitely buy the next book.

Great book- if I ever take the leap into independent consulting it will surely be at my elbow. Generated a lot of good thinking about exactly what I would be doing (target customers and what they want) and what actions I could take to be successful.

'Book Yourself Solid', by Michael Port is such a great business book that I
made it a point to get to know Michael a few years ago and have since become
friends.

Very useful books for aspiring entrepreneurs like me. Although it is oriented toward service providers to individuals, good insights about how to set up a solid marketing system for a small services company

I needed to seriously evaluate my clients and come up with a more defined client profile. This book is steering me in the right direction.

Ironically, I'm reading this at the same time as _Crazy Busy: Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap!_ But the first thing the author suggests is ditching all of your energy-sucking clients so you can focus on your best ones and excel like a maniac. So maybe they're not that incompatible after all.

If you are a service provider and looking to improve on yourself and grow your business, this book is an absolute staple for your education. I insist you download the free chapter on your Kindle so that you can be convinced to buy it yourself. It has been one of the Top 2 resources to help me grow my client base and increase business.

This book is a lot like my own [http://www.forgettheparachute.com]. It's really about figuring out what customer you really love serving and will serve with all of your enthusiasm and excitement, and how to serve that customer.

A phenonmenal book on creating a services business. (And, really, is there any business that doesn't provide a service?)

Although I had a hard time getting into this book there is much useful information on how to increase your business if you are self-employed. Although I may not agree with everything said in the book I think anyone self-employed could benefit from reading and following (some of) the program.

I have recommended this book to many people...all have thanked me. More than a typical treatise on how to create a lead funnel, it is about serving with integrity and being rewarded for doing what you love. If you are a service professional wanting to acquire clients, read it.
