FINALLY...we get Jaime's point of view in this whole series. Jamie, broken, lost, afraid, helpless...
I found the reunited relationship between Jamie and Brian still very juvenile...especially for 2 kids who have been through and seen quite a bit to make them grow up fast. But there was also something very charming and "preserved" about the way their interactions are written as well. (I could do without the every-other-line-I-love-you's...but that's just me...)
To be honest, the whole...more
This is part one (I assume) of Jamie's story. Once Brian finds him at the end of Book 3, we as readers are horrified to find out he is being used by a man who obviously is horrible, and is strung out on drugs and being prostituted and forced into porn. While Brian chooses to make them himself, he at least retain...more

This book begins where 'Little Boy Lost: Vanished' left off but it is Jamie's voice that takes over. The first three books were written from Brian's perspective and I think it was a wise choice to present Jamie's experiences and perspective to the continuation of the story.
The series follows Brian and Jamie through the sweet, tender longing of first love (book 1: Enligh...more
"That night, that last beautiful night I held him in my arms, was the last time I had been happy. Even nearly two years later, I could still remember every touch, every whisper in the dark, every promise. That night, that experience changed my life. It made me want to be a better man, to take care of Brian the way that he should have been cared f...more

After Jamie's introduction in the first book, this was tough to catch up to him two years later and the toll those two years have taken, as much as you understand the frustration of some of the characters with him, you also know enough to have compassion for it.....more
Jamie has been taken in by an abusive man who uses him in every way possible, keeping him drugged up and beaten down. He has lost all self esteem and sence of worth.
Brian tries his best to get back with Jamie but Jamie...more
A better review will follow tomorrow to late to continue now.
OK now that I have little time here goes.
Brian shows his true love and devotion to Jamie as he searches for a way to get Jamie away from his abusive/manipulative/controlling pimp/drug dealer/partner. Believe me any one of the words in the list would work in this case. Steven O’Dell, is truly a piece of work and Jamie is suffering under his control and abuse. Like any battered spouse Jamie thinks it safer...more
"2nd Edition" "Little Boy Lost: Book Four" Little Boy Lost is the story of Jamie Mayfield, a golden-haired fallen angel. Dumped into a gay rehab center and shunned by his parents, the once-adored son of small-minded, small town people has had to find his own way in life. Jamie is astonished and dismayed when Brian McAllister, the boy he knows is the other half of his soul, explodes back into his precarious life. In the nearly two years they've been apart, not a day has gone by that Jamie hasn't...more
I think this book has been the hardest to read so far. Yes, Jamie leaving was gut wrenching and Brian getting bullied and put in the hospital and pulled out of his home was horrible BUT having to see just how Jamie got to where he is when Brian finds him and even in the present....my heart broke and kept breaking throughout the whole book.
We get this book through Jamies eyes, which is very different since we are so used to being in Brians head. It took m...more
Thanks, J.P. Barnaby, for helping me get my reading mojo back.
