A nice, high level introduction to Big Data related tools/platforms for the developers or academic researchers in data science. Will be a good starting point to get up to speed with the available options.
Mahesh Gupta
one stop to get overview of all the big data overview. but should have included more of content rather than just glossary.
André Gomes
A quick read for those who want to be introduced to the big data world.

I think the lack of examples and illustrations make the understanding of the concepts too abstract.
This book is a summary of the most popular modern tools for dealing with big datasets. There are no detail descriptions of the presented tools but it is a good intro book.
Very brief introduction, the links might take as long to investigate.
Good introduction, although will become outdated very fast (needlebase no longer exists, for example).
Bom para ter uma visão geral de ferramentas de Big Data. Fraco nos conceitos, mas serve como ponto de partida para se aprofundar na área.
Sapan Patel
Nothing in detail, but gives the happenings and context of the Big Data Buzz. Just a good "Perspective Builder".
This is an informative book that provides a high level view on all Big Data tools and technologies.
this book presumably has a very imminent/short best-before-date, but is nonetheless worth a read.
It was a book with good information for big data storing systems. It was very short.
Christofer Garner
Quick read. It contains short overviews of new and emerging technologies.
Vojto Rinik
Just an overview of big data tasks and tools, nothing less, nothing more.
Mms Mamdouh
