I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Laurel Adams is a distant and emotional 17 year old girl, having witnessed the murder of her parents but unable to remember the killers identity. Couple that with an alcoholic and emotionally absent sister, a long standing crush on the hottest guy in school and the stock "bitch" at school (that just so happens to be said hottest guys girlfriend) and what we have is a gripping little mystery.

I was very much surprised a...more

Laurel has had the year from hell following her parent’s brutal murder. She lives her life one day at a time and barely makes it through. Everything changes when Wes starts paying her attention, but can Laurel put the past behind her and move on?

A well written quick read, with a shocking twist that will keep the reader gripped until the end.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this book by the author. This review contains spoilers. A young girls parents are murdered leaving her to be taken care of by her sister through her senior year of high school. Quick interesting read that proves love is possible even after heartache.

This was a great story from start to finish and the only problem I found with this book was that it wasn't long enough :(
However this is a great short story for anyone to read :)

“Wes sat in a cracked vinyl booth picking at his fries and listening to Amanda go on and on about the dress she'd found.
'...and it has these little lavender bows. Oh, Wes, I can't wait 'til you see it.' She gesticulated wildly, and her only saving grace right now was her amazing rack that swayed and bounced with each movement. Sometimes he swore that was the only reason he ever looked crosswise at Amanda Price. That, and her daddy's checkbook.
'And I found these shoes--"
'Uh huh, that's nice,' he cut her off and slid free from the booth. He held out his hand. 'Got the card?' He waved the bill in the air at her questioning gaze. Was she a little cross-eyed, maybe? He thought so.”
