I've had this book for a few weeks now and have wanted to find the time to read it - I knew that if it was going to be as good as the first book in the series then it was going to be a real page turner and once picked-up I wouldn't be able to put it down. And I was right! Once again Stacy Eaton has produced a fast paced, vampire-thriller with so many twists and turns I felt dizzy by the end of it.

It's hard to write a review without giving spoilers and I wouldn't want to spoil this great book for those yet to read it. But what I can say is that Eaton has the ability to create some great characters. I'm rather fond of Kristen (just my type of girl) fiery, strong minded, independant and is nobody's fool. This is so refreshing as a lot of female leads in this genre can moan alot and be full of self pity and self loathing - just waiting for the hunky vampire male to come along and rescue her. Not Kristen - sassy and smart to the very end. I think I have a bit of a crush! I love her heightened vampire senses!

Alot of characters from the firt book come over into the is book and it was good to read about them all again. It's hard to say too much but there is a rather unpleasant character called Burke and he was so well written I could almost hear him breathing.

The thing I like about Eaton's writing is that the settings are so believeable. There is not a detail missing and the police settings are most believeable and researched so well I almost felt that I was riding shot-gun with Kristen and Trent.

I also like the way Eaton merges the different point of views of the different characters in this book and the first book. There are only three books that I have read where this is pulled off well as it is such a hard thing to do as I writer. The first book is 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker and the other two are both of Eaton's books. Eaton has a very 'Stoker' feel to her writing and for me that is the highest compliment I can pay any writer. Stoker was a gifted writer as is Eaton. 'Blue Blood for Life' fully lived up to my expeactions and they were high as the first book in the series was so good.

This a must read and not a book to be missed. I can't wait to see what Eaton serves up next. Awesome!

Though not usually a fan of books written in first person, I must tip my hat to Stacy Eaton, the way she blended so many points of view from the characters made this book a truly unique joy to read. Kristin the heroine is a fine example of what a heroine should be, strong, intelligent, fiercely independent and confident in her abilities. Alex, while he was a good hero was just a tad domineering for my taste. Luckily there was an abundance of testosterone laden hunks to choose from so I was quite happy with the selection. While the characters were engaging and detailed, in Blue Blood for Life, the story is the selling point. Riveting, gritty, and very emotional, there are few straight lines in this plot arc. Just when you think you have a scenario down pat, it flips on you. The only thing that remained the same was the incredible quality of the writing. This was also, surprisingly a very sensual book. It is a rare book that can combine sensuality and a dark drama as well as Blue Blood for Life. I was so tickled with the ending of this book, for awhile I was very nervous, because in the first book, My Blood Runs Blue, I would have ended it differently. It was an excellent book, but I was and still am a fan of Julian. (although Trent is a sweetie as well). I think fans of the Anita Blake series, would kill for this book. I think any fan of a good PNR with some serious crime drama thrown in would love this book. I loved this book, but I really, really need to see more of Julian. Good job Ms. Eaton and well done.(less)

Fans of both cop stories and the vampire genre alike will delight in the magic of the details in this story: the racheting sound handcuffs make when securing around a wrist … the metallic scent of blood … the way in which vampires with a bond feel each other’s emotions – predominantly pain … defensive maneuvers cops are trained in to take down criminals … the focus on the job and how it gets into the blood of the cops who put on the uniform and work it. Police work is not simply a career choice – it’s a way of life, experience of which author and real-life seasoned police officer Stacy Eaton has invested in her character, Kristin, to sharp effect.
The plot is engaging and challenging as unexpected twists appear to surprise the reader. Amidst the vampiric fantasy, a passionate drama is played out and the dynamic between Kristin, Alex, Julian and Trent is very convincing, adding another theme to the opus: the anguish of choice when the outcome and consequences of actions taken is unclear.
As in the original, the narrative switches between characters to give a smart extra dimension to the story as we see events perceived from different points of view.
Stacy Eaton has achieved something rare in producing a sequel that’s even better than the impressive original.
Blue Blood For Life is a vampire/cop thriller with sharp teeth and a beating heart that makes it far superior to many others of the genre. (less)

4.5 Star Review--Stacy Eaton just keeps getting better!

For me "My Blood Runs Blue" was a delightful surprise and I was anxious to read the next book. I was not disappointed when I read “Blue Blood For Life”! If anything I think I liked it even better.

Blue Blood for life picks up a few months after book 1 ended and there are some problems for the love birds. Enter a new guy, and a new villain and you have a whole lot going on. I liked this book even more than the first one. One thing I will note is that there was a lot of recap from the first book. I am not a huge fan of this. I know you want to remind readers what happened in the previous books so they are not coming in at the middle of a story, but I just don't like re-reading stuff I have already read.

I was a little sad to see that Alex was not really in too much of the book, but Jullian is back and so is new guy Trent. I really liked Trent and I was a little disgusted with myself for abandoning the Alex ship as quickly as I did. What on earth is with all these guys? They all seem so nice and good for Kristen that whenever one of them does something for her, I immediately am on their side. Ultimately, I liked Trent a lot more than Alex. I'm not going to tell you how things work out, or who she ends up with. That would take all the fun out of the book. Plus, I have no idea if she will even stay with this person much longer. Who knows- maybe tomorrow another new guy will come into the picture? Haha.

Blue Blood for Life is a fast paced, exciting read. I read it in no time, the pages just fly by. I really like how we get to see the story told from a few different POVs. I especially like seeing how different characters view or felt during the same event. It causes a little overlap but not much. Stacy does not dwell on the same things for each character so the POVs are not too repetitive. (less)

I was pleased to see that the book started just weeks after the first had finished and sure enough Kristin was back to being a gritty, no-nonsense cop, as independent as ever despite the events of the first book. In Blue Blood for Life, however, Stacy Eaton takes a brave step by introducing some new - and very significant - characters.

I must admit that at times I found the first 100 pages slightly clumsy. The combination of recapping past events but also introducing brand new characters seemed to stall the novel at times, whilst it seemed to rush ahead at others. However, once these hurdles had been overcome and the scene had been set, the novel travelled at an excellent pace, like a smooth but nonetheless exhilarating rollercoaster ride into the world of crime, vampires and love. Or should that be lust?

The introduction of new characters sees Kristin's friends making an appearance, though only one stays the course throughout the book and I think it's the stronger for that: too many strong characters can overwhelm a novel easily. This book sees the return of some familiar vampires in the forms of Gabe, Julian and Alex but, again, there are new faces and two in particular stir this mix of bloodlust, danger, passion and surprises into an absolute frenzy.

As with the first book, the telling of events from the point of view of two, sometimes three characters can make it feel a little repetitive at times but it's clear that the author has taken steps to reduce this. I'm confident that in future books Eaton will find the perfect balance between giving major characters a voice and ensuring the story is told succinctly.

Blue Blood for Life is a sexy, exciting adventure with some fantastic moments. The book was a very satisfying read and I raced through the last hundred pages, determined to find out what the outcome would be. If you believed book one had some twists and turns in store, all I can say is hold on to your hat for book two. I need some serious recovery time now before facing book three!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!! After quickly falling in love with the first book in this series, I promptly downloaded the second. I was not disappointed!! I think I loved this one even more! Wow! *takes a deep breath*
I had the pleasure of reading this early, and it really was just that--a pleasure!
I thought the first book of this series took us on a ride, but that was nothing compared to this one. So many intricate twists and turns that left me guessing right up until the very end!
Kristin is still her own woman, even though she now has her relationship with Alex, she still keeps her job. She wants her life to be of her own making, not that of others, which I greatly admire.

I felt that there were a little too many POV in this book and I did struggle with that. First there was Julian, then Kristin, Alex, Trent, Gabe etc. and it felt like you were re-reading the same chapter over again. Having said that I was surprised by the ending and did not see it coming. I did want to finish it and I am glad I persevered.

Very good 2nd book. Enjoyed the twist the added characters brought. I liked reading from the POV of each character.

I do have to say, I think there should be a related candle line so I can smell the characters. I mean how do you choose between coffee and chocolate?

Overall fun series. I will be looking for more books by Stacy Eaton in the future.

The writing style is exquisite, and how Mrs. Eaton can bring four different points of view, all in first person, in play is simply brilliant.

What I loved about this book is that it threw out all of my expectations of what I believed was going to happen. I was thrown for a loops that I didn't see coming, and I LOVE that. If you read the first book, you can't miss reading the second one.

More twists and turns than those back roads of the real Fawn Hollow! I finished this book in a day, racing to find out what happened next. This is a great sequel, engaging, intriguing, and sexy as hell! Eaton has outdone herself again! I can't wait to see more from this author!!!
