In high school, Lacey was friends with Jim Micah, even while dating his best friend John Montgomery. Jim and Lacey had feelings for each other, but nothing was acted on due to John and Lacey’s relationship. John has always been a charmer, and his personality overshadowed other people’s to the point that they took risks they wouldn’t have ordinarily taken. To Lacey, John represented daring and Jim represented loyalty and security. At the beginning of the story, John and Lacey have been broken up...more

Waiting for Dawn is the bittersweet story of how Lacey Galloway, PhD and math geek, went undercover in the war-torn Middle East of 1991 to rescue Jim Micah, who she thinks might be in love with her… Accompanying her is John Montgomery, Lacey’s ex-boyfriend and Micah’s best friend since high school. Only John doesn’t seem to be acting like an ex-boyfriend, more like a current boyfriend…

Those who have read Flee the Night will know how the story ends (well, this is a prequel!). For those who haven’...more

This isn't a full-length book but rather an ebook-only prequel to a 2005 novel entitled Flee the Night, which is the first of a series of books about a woman intelligence agent.

Waiting for the Dawn is an exciting read about a search and rescue mission in which a woman enlists the help of her current beau (who really hasn't been that attentive to her) to rescue the hometown boy for whom she has always carried a flame. As a prequel, it has a happy, but not quite settled ending--probably to encour...more

"Waiting for Dawn" is the prequel to the Team Hope series by Susan May Warren. In this novella, the reader is introduced to the main characters and shown how their pasts connect. Jim Micah - a Green Beret stationed in Turkey. Lt. John Montgomery - his best friend also stationed in Turkey. Then there is Lacey Galloway, the girl who holds both of their hearts. When one of them goes missing, Lacey travels overseas to find a way to rescue him. One of these men really loves her, the other - well, you...more

This novella is a prequel to Flee The Night Jim Micah has loved Lacey Galloway for a decade. The day he introduced her to his best friend, John Montgomery, will always be his biggest mistake. John was always out for adventure and Lacey was like that too. As a Green Beret out on a mission, Jim and two others have been taken captive. Thoughts of ay. Lacey and remembering Psalm 86 have kept him going. Lacey figured John and her were over for eight months now when she gets the news that Jim is missi...more

As a fan of the Team Hope series, I was excited to read this prequel to the books I enjoyed so much. Although this story is short, there is a lot of action packed into each page.

When Jim Micah's team is captured in Afghanistan, Lacey and her ex-boyfriend (and Micah's best friend) John risk their lives to save him through a covert mission. When bullets fly, so do emotions. Lacey finds herself pulled between an exciting love and a strong, stable love.

This story/novella was a great introduction t...more

After this I am intrigued to read the rest of the series. Susie May Warren is one of the first Christian Fiction authors I read many years ago and I have yet to be disappointed in her stories. While most of hers that I have read is from her Christian Historical Fiction series, I enjoyed this introduction to some of her contemporary novels. I just added the Team Hope Series to my wish list, I'm sure I'll like them all. Her narrative voice is one that keeps me going back for more.

Well I didn't realize that this was just a short introduction to flee the night or else I probably wouldn't have bought it on my kindle. Beside the fact that it was short it was just a ridiculous story. I mean the guy is a prisoner of war and practically his every thought is about the girl he never confessed to. Even I felt it was all too sappy.

I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.

I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.

Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the Unive...more
