We started reading the books in the My Weird School series by Dan Gutman and Jim Paillot together during storytime, but our oldest started reading ahead into the series on her own and our youngest seemed to lose interest. So now, I am just reading to catch up with our oldest.
This story features a funny and heroic school custodian who seems to have a plunger fetish. It's a short and funny book and our oldest and I had a few laughs talking about the plot. We enjoy these stories and have put the n...more

Miss Lazar was a little bizarre, what custodian rides up and down in the hallway on a scooter. There's a boy named A.J. and he hates school. He asks the teacher if he can go to the bathroom and he sometimes doesn't really have to go. He just sits in there so he can skip class. One day when he was on his way back to the classroom, he flushed the toilet so it would seem like he used the bathroom. The toilet water kept getting higher and it started to over flow, so he ran back to the classroom and told the teacher. The whole class ran to the bathroom and water started to come out the boys ba...more
