Being the daughter of a Wiccan practitioner has made Alexis Allcroft a social outcast – both in town and in school. Yet she’s done her best to not let this fact get to her. While her insecurities surface at the most inopportune times, she’s determined to walk forth with her head high in hopes of showing her classmates that the things they say don’t bother her. Unfortunately, she realizes that this is easier said than done.

Plagued by dreams she doesn’t quite understand, she starts looking forward...more

At 17 it's really hard to know where you fit in. The one thing I liked about this was the character Alexis knew she didn't fit in and went through a short period where she wanted to. That was a very poignant part of the book. The flow of the novel was fast paced and had a lot of twists and turns and the character dialogue felt realistic to that particular age group.

The partnered writers in this novel didn't feel like they were separate writers at all. The book moved with an ease and flow with t...more

This book was a really quick read. But even though it was short A LOT happens in Betrayed. I think it sets up, what is probably going to be a very interesting series.

Alexis' powers are what interested me most in this book. I think her unique combination is going to prove really cool and different. I can't wait to see what she is going to do with her powers and how they develop and strengthen. I hope her powers is going to be the main focus of the next book. Everything happened so fast, and I wi...more

I read Betrayed in less than a day. Right now, I’m at a point where I love reading shorter books because I lack time for reading anything too long.
This book was awesome. Perhaps I’m into the whole half vampire thing a little too much because I happen to be writing a series with a half vampire teen, anyhoo…on with the review. I really didn’t know what to expect from this book because the synopsis doesn’t really tell you much about the storyline and I don’t read reviews before writing a book I wa...more

As this is a very easy-to-read book, I read through it in one sitting. Alexis, already branded as a witch at her school because she is a Wiccan, decides to cast a spell to make everybody's secrets come out so that the unfriendly attention she is receiving would be transferred to others. When the spell actually works, the proverbial can of worms is opened; not only for the entire town but also for Alexis. Fortunately the new, very handsome boy at school, Sebastian, comes to the rescue, along with...more

This story was rather different than what I expected. I thought that it would be a fairly predictable YA romance. I was wrong. There is a touch of lovely romance, but it is not the focus of the story. The focus of the story is firmly Alexis and her family.

Having grown up without a father and with a Wiccan as a mother, Alexis is a bit unusual as far as heroines go. When not matter-of-factly castings spells she doesn't really expect to work, she is hanging out with her one friend (the daughter of...more

Hea y'all Anne here and I've just read Betrayed by Morrigan Michele and what a great read!! This book contains all the best paranormal elements vampires, witches, guardians, and vampire hunters.. Now with all those elements there is going to be some serious drama and action, and the book doesn't disappoint. You start with Alexis having accepted her role in life as a wiccan, then throw in some life changing secrets that her parents have been keeping from her for 17 years and top it off with a hot...more

This book, Betrayed, was a book about a young girl called Alexis, 17 years old, and how she was coming to terms with herself. This was a fun and exciting read, with twists and turns that I did not see coming at all. The plot moved at a quick pace and this kept the story flowing and interesting!

There were secrets being kept from Alexis, by both her Mother and Father, but also by her Guardian. These secrets had kept her in the dark for the whole of her life. This book portrays the troubles and str...more

I have never been the type to really get into YA writing, but I am trying to open my genre taste to different kinds and subjects. I have know Wendy for a long time and even though she not only a fellow author, but also a friend. Alothough we are friends doedn't mean she gets a sugar coated review. Even friend and family get an honest review because I would want the same provided to me.

Now, let's get down to Betrayed. I want to say first and foremost I loved her writing style. I would have loved...more

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read with a fun storyline. There are a lot of Wiccan things included that I didn't really undertand, but that didn't matter at all. It was interesting and what needed to be explained WAS explained.
I hate giving away any spoilers in reviews, but I want to mention that I love the spin placed on certain supernatural creatures. The common folklore is switched up in some unique ways. Lexi and her circle of family and friends (some new, some old, all with the...more

“Paranormally Fantastic!
From the start, Alexis Allcroft’s life of teenage angst is as familiar as any youngster’s journey into the personal discovery of who they are. Acknowledging that she was a long-term practitioner of the Wiccan religion as well as social outcast was just an acceptable part of her life. What she hadn’t expected was the untold truth in concern to her full paranormal lineage until the metamorphosis of her true self began. Though the signs that something different was coming, A...more

Blood and Magick says so much already. I have always loved when the books title alone gives you clues to its story. And mixing two worlds such as witch and vampire is not always easily done. I have read many stories where the two are enemies mainly because witches tend to be bringers of light and peace whereas vampires, no matter which way you put it, have always and will probably always be viewed as creatures of the night - dark beings. A banished breed. The way the two species collide in Betra...more

Here we go, I loved it :D I am still fuming mad just like Alexis about her parents keeping her true identity a secret from her all her life. All they ever told her was that her mom and her are witches, trust me that is not all there is to know about Alexis. Come on now why couldn't her father and mother atleast tell her so she would have known why her father was not around for 14 yrs of her life, now he shows up and tells her. Makes me really mad that her friends (what few she has) have been als...more

Oh boy, I wish this book would have been longer!! I have never read a book that featured witches so prominently before, so this was completely new and exciting for me!! And this book was so fantastically AWESOME!!!

Being such a short read, Betrayed is packed full right from the start!! And you know how in some books that are a fairly quick read you don't get to feel a connection to the characters? Well Betrayed is not like that at all!! You really have a sense of knowing them. Of feeling where th...more

I liked the idea behind this story. A girl who discovers that she is half vampire and half witch. I felt for Alexis as she quickly find out who she can and cannot trust. It looks like this is the first in a series and I think the authors did a good job of setting the stage for the series. In the end, I was left with many questions, most I am hoping will be addressed in the next book. Betrayed is a quick read and entertaining.

This book was not what i was expecting, it took me only half and hour to read and i expect it to be longer since i spent 3.99 on it. The story was to fast and there was no romance and the action was to fast and there was no build up to the climax it was like all of the sudden there was a fight and it was over.

Betrayed is a quick and easy read. This young adult novel is filled with magic, witches and even some vampires. Although I found this story to be a good read I felt like the pacing of the story and the events within it didn't quite match up. I think I would've enjoyed it more if the story would've been a little longer. I didn't quite feel that deep connection to the character Alexis. There is a bit of romance, but I wouldn't say it's the focal point of the story. I did enjoy Morrigan Michele's w...more

Betrayed (Blood and Magick) is a fantastic book by two very fine writers! I was swept in from the first paragraph, until the very end. The style was fantastic, and the cover is hot. Loved it. ;)

What can I say... Far from original, terrible writing style, very short, over written, did I mention no originality. Don't waste your money. This author rips of so many stories and turns it into this short piece of rubbish.

I'm sorry for the harsh words but this book is the worst thing I've read. I'm not used to be so annoyed and disappointed in a book.

Very interesting and exciting book. Makes you stop and think also. Can't wait for next book!
