Caution! This publication does NOT contain the books listed here. It is merely a compendium of publicly available materials from sites like Wikipedia.

I read the first book before I saw the movie, and was pleasantly surprised that both were equally good. Since I was reading the books as they were available from the public library, there was a gap between reading each. I enjoyed the second book almost as much as the first, but I have to say I was disappointed by the third book of the trilogy. I didn't think the story line was as good, and it seemed a much slower pace than the first two. (This resulted in my giving the trilogy four stars out of...more

A remarkable story. The best fiction I have read in a very long time and that includes The Millennium Trilogy, which I also loved. Written for the teenage audience this is a fast-paced thriller about a post-nuclear world where children compete in a futuristic Reality TV Game to the death.

Details: This story is violent, but the violence is never gratuitous though it does ratchet up throughout the three novels. However, it is very entertainingly written and the characters are deep and consistent....more

After slogging my way through a few classics, including War and Peace, I needed some lighter material. Having seen the Hunger Games as a film I jumped in to this trio of novels and enjoyed every moment of them. The obvious parallels between these books and Battle Royale did not spoil the moment for me and whilst the target audience may be something more teenage than my 40 years I had that delicious blend of mixed feelings you get when you reach the last page of a delightful journey.

the book is always better and the movie was really good. I found the movie to be true to the book, but as every good book does, it gives an insight to the characters the movie just can't.

Excellent series! Doubt the movie will do the books justice; they rarely do.

Hephaestus Books publishes print-on-demand compilations of Wikipedia articles -- not original works. Caveat Emptor.

If you feel that doing a free search on Wikipedia is not worth your time compared to paying someone to print out Wikipedia articles for you, then these books may be of interest.

Works titled as "Novels of [Author], such as [novel1], [novel2]..." are very arguably deceptively advertised...more
