Warning: There are some spoilers in this review, although they will not take away any real enjoyment of the book.
It is hard to decide what to rate this book. I was tempted to give it more stars than I did because it was much better than the previous book in the series, which I had some major problems with on a few levels. The editing was better (but still not at the level it should be for an author as popular and published as Leigh), and the story flowed a little bit better. There were quite a f...more

Much Much Much clearer than its predecessor, Midnight Sins. Lora Leigh dropped the continuous flow of character names that seemed to hit you like a freight train. She made the feud more understandable by having the characters explain it to other characters, versus the reader just reading it.
Bonus! Our leading lady was a strong hell cat of a woman which made me cling to this book a little more. Cami was a delicate flower for Rafer, but what Logan wanted and needed was a strong warrior woman who...more

The second installment of Lora Leigh’s Callahan’s series turns the focus onto a different Callahan cousin, Logan, who just happened to my favorite when I was reading the first book, Midnight Sins, and after reading this one, he’s still my favorite!
Like his cousins Rafe and Crowe, Logan has lived a rough life. His family disowned him after his mother’s death and he and his cousins became the town’s pariahs having only each other and their Uncle Clyde (who is no...more

Two things first: 1) The identity of the Big Bad is not revealed in this book and there seems to be quite a lot of people gunning for these guys & their paramours. 2) In the book itself, this series is identified as the Sins series and I checked this specifically because on GoodReads & Leigh's website, it's listed as 'The Callahan's.' First off, there is more than one Callahan so it should be Callahans. Secondly, you would only need the apostrophe if you were adding a noun after Callahan...more

This series could be so much more. The base plot line is a good mystery, the Callahan cousins lost their parents in the same crash. And now the cousins have to stay in order to inherit their trust funds or forfeit it all. But whoever killed their parents wants to make sure they get nothing, including love and children. Every lover they have had since returning to Corbin County has been murdered by "the slasher", and now the impatient man behind all this has brought in an assassin to move his plo...more
I love Lora Leigh and have read all of her books to date and I have been looking forward to reading the 2nd book in this series. Unfortunately, this is not one of her best. I hate reading reviews that complain about "editing" but this book really lacks editing. It was difficult to follow in parts because she would repeat the same sentence and she would use incorrect pronouns (Logan would make a reference, but she would refer to Logan as "she"). The romance and hot steamy scenes that Leigh is kno...more

Deadly Sins: Lora Leigh
WOW, this book rocks! It's a couldn't put down from the first word, action packed, and the attraction between these two characters burned up the pages! Lora Leigh is my all time favorite and she sure didn't disappoint with this book. I can overlook the editing errors due to the story is a good one. I just hope there will be a fourth with Crowe's story and the Slasher caught!

Reasons I knocked off two stars:
1. Normally some minor misprints or mistakes don't bug me but when the wrong character names are being used; misspellings are common; and the author is literally copying and pasting lines over and over it gets a bit distracting. The further I got into this book the more mistakes there were and more frequent. I actually started to mark up my book with corrections!

Skye O'Brien comes into town to find the person who killed her half sister Amy. She poses as a woman badly in need of a break who works at an editor for a publishing firm, when an actuality she is on a break because as an FBI agent she needed to get a way over a case where she did find a killer and was not able to save the life of his final victim. Logan Callahan is a man dealing with his own demons, one of a very evil nature. There is a killer living nearby, one who kills any woman he or his co...more
I'm giving this one three stars, as it was definitely better than the first book. This despite the continued inconsistencies, typos, repetitive language, name swapping, etc. I still find the plot overly complex and convoluted. At this point in the series, we should at least have an idea as to the 'why' the Callahan men are being targeted in the way that they are (i.e. with the raping and killing of any woman who has even looked at the guys) - this is way beyond what the family feud could necessi...more
Book #2 of the Callahan Brothers of Colorado. It was good. Logan and Skye makes Rafer and Cami (book #1) look like wimps. The story moved really fast and the action was cranked up to high. I would have given this book 4 stars--but there were so many editing errors in this book that author, Lora Leigh, must be completely embarrassed. I'm not talking about a misplaced word here or there...every chapter had errors--I thought maybe I was reading a pre-release (ARC?). But no, I bought it at Walmart....more
I've been a Leigh fan ever since picking up Hidden Agendas in line at the grocery store a few years back. I'm beyond bored with the writing style. Seems all the books are the same, with only the names of the characters being changed. The words hunger and soul are used over and over and over....boring. The men are way too domineering in the bedroom...using sex to control their women, in today's age that's just not realistic. Every single one of Lara's books is like that. The sex scenes are SO pre...more
My first read by this author. I actually found this book on the clearance shelf at Half Price Books for $1.00. It was worth the buck!
Unfortunately, this is the second in a series of 3 books about 3 male cousins and a mystery involving murder, theft, and cover ups over a couple of generations. I would recommend anyone coming to this to start at the beginning.
I am interested enough to pick up the other two books and complete the family story.

I don't think I'm in the right frame of mind to read Lora Leigh right now.
This series could have been something, but instead Leigh took this installment and shoehorned the whole series to be just like all the others and I didn't like it enough to be okay with that. Not only that but, this is the second heroine in the series, which only has two books who hooked up with a guy their older sister already did.

I liked this book much better than the first. Too many errors in the 1st book to recommend it. There were points of confusion for me in this one, but not as frequent as the first, so I put up with it.
Logan and Skye were a much better couple than Rafe and Cami and I loved that Logan was given a puppy ::::sigh:::
I am looking forward to the 3rd (and hopefully) final book in the series, if only so I can find out the "whodunit" and the "whydunit" It's driving me crazy and not in a good way.

This book was astoundingly awful. The story was jerky and didn't even make sense half the time. But every time I found myself saying, "this doesn't make sense," I decided I didn't care because the book was so bad anyway.
The editing was poor. There were so many grammer and spelling mistakes! I stopped buying Lora Leigh books awhile ago because they had gotten so bad. Now I'm considering not even checking them out from the library or getting them from Paperbackswap.com

I did enjoy this book. However, The story keeps getting more and more confusing. I think a timeline needs to be added, to try and keep all the past events straight. There were also quite a few times, where descriptions from one sentence to the next just didn't make sense. There are editing issues though out this book, but not nearly as many as the first book. But with saying that, I will still read the next one. Hopefully the Author will tie up all the loose ends and make some since of all this...more
This series is beyond frustrating. I had the same editing issues as other reviewers and was skimming a majority of this book because it was covering the first book's plot as well as being repetitive. Beyond that I think I am tired of Lora Leigh's domineering men. I thought things would be different with Skye, she was an independent, strong female lead. She has a ass kicking job and isn't afraid to tell Logan that he isn't the boss of everything. However as much I liked Skye though was just ruine...more
ARRRRGH! Yet again, I end up more frustrated than anything after reading this next installation of the Callahan's trilogy. The editing just isn't up to snuff. There were more episodes of phrases being repeated, typos, errors in sentence structure/tense. At one point, the lead characters, Logan and Skye have the exact same conversation (using the exact same words) roughly 10 paragraphs from each other. Names were switched on at least 2 separate occasions - once Logan is switched for Crowe and onc...more

It has been a long time since a book has held my interest from start to finish. Deadly Sins is a heart stopping romantic suspense that will leave you craving more. While this is book 2 in the "Callahan's" series, it may be read as a standalone. Gotta rustle up book 1.
Sky O'Brien is the type of alpha female that as a reader I love to encounter. She is both witty and intense in her passions. Tragedy has struck her life more than once. She know that monster do really exist and to catch a monster sh...more

Second in The Callahans, a.k.a., Heroes and Heartbreakers, romantic suspense series revolving around three men, cousins, who are targeted by the ruling clique in Corbin County. The couple focus is on Logan Callahan and Skye O'Brien.
My Take
Well, it's better than the first installment, Midnight Sins . Leigh created a lot of tension and question in that first story and in Deadly Sins, she's expanded upon it, providing yet more questions. And, yeah, I'm curious enough to want to know who or what is...more

I don't usually do the review thing, but so much bothered me about this book physically, that I had to put it into words. While the storyline was fine (didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first book in the series), the editing and printing of this book were atrocious. If I used both of those to rate the book, I'd have given it 1-1/2 stars. There were literally full paragraphs in at least 2 places in the book that were repeated verbatim, and believe me, nothing ruins the hotness of a love scene...more
Again, a convoluted mystery surrounding the Callaghan cousins, this time with Logan as the main protagonist, and his developing relationship with Skye O'Brien.
However, there are numerous faults along the way. Take Chapter 10 for example. This should have been a white-hot, orgasm-inducing scene between the two MC's; BUT, the totally, astonishingly BAD editing threw it all away: repetitive phrases, duplication of sentences, sequential failures, COMPLETELY ruined it.

Look at the pretty cover!!!! I was also very excited to read the book because I couldn't wait to read about Logan and the sexy neighbor. Sadly, this book, as well as the first in this series, was just okay. This series is not filling the void that the ending of Elite Ops left.
In a way, the continuing killer that just wants to exterminate the Callahan's is a bit like her Men of August series, although the suspense part was done much better in tho...more

Didn't realize I picked an erotic read, unfortunately I purchase the whole series, so I had to read it. Was very disappointed with all the sexual scenes. I felt that the erotic encounters overshadowed what was a fantastic story. I ended up skimming over the sexual scenes to read the meat of the plot. I didn’t think I’d ever say this but there were too many repetitively described explicit interaction. Yes, I’m going to say it…it got boring! I almost gave up on the book.
It was a decent read. However, no clues were given on who is behind it all. Also the author seems to have a standard format she uses now. So the stories are all basically the same with a few details different. I also thought there were only going to be 3 books in this series. Well the 3rd book is not about the last cousin, it's about the sheriff. That means at least 2 more books before we know who is behind it. I'm beginning to think this series is not worth reading.
It seems like with this book things are getting more and more twisted and tangled. At this point I am not sure who the good guys are, other than the Callahan's, or who the bad guys are. The only thing I do know is that there are so many people in town that have their hands in this business and that the reasoning is going to be something that we haven't thought of yet.

Not my favorite of her books, and I love Lora Leigh books (especially the Breeds). Who edited this book? Not her usually one obviously. There were many erros, pronouns etc. And the same sentence repeated. That said, I love her sex scenes. They are hot! The story was very involved which I enjoyed. I want to know the end. I want Crowe's story. I want to know about the mysterious assassin. I would like to know Resnova's story.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora’s family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in...more
