When do I know I'm going to love a book? When I'm writing notes within the first few minutes of starting it. I was only on page two of Sapphire by Jeffe Kennedy when I noted about the lead heroine "This buttoned up chick needs an orgasm or three" Taylor, is a career woman, a go-getter, a ball buster and that's pretty much all you know about her at first. I got the impression she was highly organised, that sex in her life was secondary to

Sapphire is a wicked sexy BDSM novella about control-freak and workaholic business woman, M. Taylor Hamilton. Watching her mother lose control of her life and having to take care of herself at a young age, Taylor strives to be nothing like her by remaining in complete control at all times, in every situation, and never losing her head over a man. But when a fellow businessman that she previously shot down corners Taylor on her boss’s yacht and pushes her into an illicit erotic encounter, Taylor’ ...more

I haven't read Erotica in awhile and when I got a chance to read and review "Sapphire" by Jeffe Kennedy...I jumped on it. What captured my attention the most was the description of the book and then the cover. A book that shows someone in handcuffs has to be good, right?

From the beginning to the end, this book is intense. M. Taylor Hamilton is one woman who thinks work is her life. She never has fun and never gets loose. Until she is put into a enticing and sexy situation with sexy, mystery and

She has no time for games in or out of the bedroom, much to her fellow business partner’s dismay. When he decides to take matters into his own hands Taylor must decide if she is willing to give up the one thing she holds most dear-her trust.

I wrote this review for Amazon on 27 April 2012. I have only found out that there is a book 2 and 3 that she has written.

Sapphire sucked me in from page one and I read this in one sitting and didn't want it to end. I was so engrossed in it I didn't think to make any notes on what I liked about it and what I would like to put in my review.

So what did I think about Sapphire?

It was a wonderful read and what a talented writer Jeffe Kennedy is.

Very good story with "real" characters and not your usual

This book was just ok for me, I love the idea of the story, the strong, successful woman who craves the ability to give up control, even if she isn't aware that's what her turn on is, to an Alpha man who can give her what she needs. But for some reason the whole story and the characters left me a little cold. I don't have any other explanation other than it just didn't do it for me the what I expected it was going to. Maybe if it were a bit longer with some depth to the characters...I don't know ...more

Reviewing novellas is hard. I enjoyed this quick little BDSM erotic romance and Kennedy crammed as much character development into it as I think can reasonably fit into a book of this size. Taylor's story arc was well-defined and plausible, but Adam came off as inscrutable. He wants her, he likes her, but we never get much insight into his character--just one brief glimpse of his dreams and desires.

On the other hand, Adam is one of the most believable Doms I've come across in a romance novel. K

I’m a big fan of Jeffe Kennedy as a person, but have still not had the chance to read much of her work. I follow her on Facebook and Twitter and check out her Tumblr all the time. When I finally got the chance to read Sapphire, I think the fact that I check out her Tumblr helped in my enjoyment of the story. Honestly, I’m a bit burned out on BDSM and the dominant stories. It’s never really been my thing, but I enjoy reading about it at times. It feels like I’ve been reading about it a lot lately ...more

This may seem like a weird review, but let me say that it is the highest compliment. Because this is such a great book, I’m writing a crappy review (as in my writing of it, not in I didn’t like the book) – okay, let me explain… LOL

I read a lot of books, and lately have been in kind of a slump, not really caring for most of them and thus not even finishing reading them less reviewing them. And, as I read to review generally, I stop when a “review thought” hits me and take notes on my ereader. It

This is the first book that I have read that includes bondage. I wanted to know what this BDSM was about but had hesitations and didn't want to just pick up a random book about it. So, I chose this one specifically to read because I have gotten to know the author, Jeffe Kennedy, have read another book of hers (Rogue's Pawn) that was not erotic and really liked her writing.

Adam Kirliss has been interested in Taylor Hamilton since the day he met her. The are business associates and have worked tog

A fun, fast, erotic, sweet read. M. Taylor Hamilton is the vice president of her company. She has always put her professional career first and loved being in power and control. She has not gone by Molly since third grade because she wants the image of a strong woman. But when a business associate, Adam Kirliss, decides he wants to take control of her on the top of a yacht during a company party, Taylor decides to enjoy it. All she has to say is Sapphire and he will stop. Taylor never backs down ...more

This is a seriously hot BDSM romance for adult readers.
Taylor is someone who taught herself that being strong means not feeling anything and always being in control. Luckily Adam Kirliss is able to see beyond the mask Taylor has donned and he takes it upon himself to show Taylor what she is missing by hiding behind her iron clad facade.

The BDSM scenes are delicious and steaming hot. I love Adam Kirliss: he's one hunky alpha hero who knows what he wants and doesn't shy away from using extreme m

Taylor is a career woman. She is motivated, knows what she wants, and has a plan to get it. After a one-time fling with sexy, devilish Adam, Taylor tells herself it is over, but apparently no one gave Adam the memo. Confident and cocky, Adam has his sights set on Taylor and he is used to getting what he wants. Adam is definitely not your average sweet and sexy. He has a domineering side, and he is not afraid to use it.

Adam and Taylor have an incredible amount of passion and chemistry between th

This is an enjoyable shorter story about a woman that is so in control of her life that she does not realize what she is missing, and the man that wants to change that.

M. Taylor is a notorious business woman that can negotiate a deal with the best of them and has just been promoted. She loves the control in her life and does not want to change anything, as she does not feel that anything is wrong with the way she is living. Adam Kirliss has work on a business project with M. Today's review is on Sapphire by Jeffe Kennedy

Sapphire is an erotic romance short story that focuses on the life of M. Taylor Hamilton, a successful business woman and Adam Kirliss, the rich and handsome business owner.

While on her bosses yacht, Taylor is yet again hit on by Adam. This time however his approach is much, much different. Up on the secluded upper deck of the yacht Adam handcuffs Taylor to the railing. While in control of the situation, he gives Taylor a "safe word", Sapphire. To st

Taylor is a good name for M Taylor Hamilton; she's very buttoned up and tailored -- a go-go-go type, tightly wound. Yet Adam Karliss sees something in her that he recognizes, a longing to be tamed, perhaps. A wild something. When he handcuffs her to the railing of her boss's yacht, he tells her that she can stop him any time by using a safe word; Sapphire. He quickly takes over - bringing her to orgasm, forcing her to tell him she wants it, then abruptly letting her go.

When he basically orders h

WHOA!!! HOTNESS HERE!

I don't a lot of (if any) erotica so my opinion comes from the perspective of a newbie of this genre. This is my second read by this author and I must admit,I do enjoy her style.

I found Sapphire to be a steamy snapshot into the BDSM lifestyle for the two lead characters. I enjoyed this short story. It moves along at a quick pace, yet the characters are developed enough for you to get to know them and buy in to the scenario that is created for you.

The heroine is a bit more f

Sapphire is a BDSM themed Novella about a workaholic business woman named M. Taylor Hamilton and one of her clients, Adam Kerliss.

Adam flirted with Taylor during their business relationship but Taylor turned him down. Adam makes his play for Taylor at her boss’s party. After a kinky scene between the two on her boss’s yacht they make plans to have lunch together to talk about what kind of relationship they can have now that the business deal is over.

Taylor is very closed off to the idea of havin

I liked Sapphire by Jeffe Kennedy and especially enjoyed the plot and the characters (Adam was super HOT!). I wasn't too fond of the author's writing style, and I am not even sure what it was exactly I didn't like. It just didn't seem to flow smoothly for me. With it being a novella/short story it essential to me that I don't have to concentrate too much on syncing with the author's writing style. Perhaps I would have not had the same problem if it had been full length novel. Regardless o

Taylor has a plan for her life and love doesn’t fit into it. Her nick name at work is “mad dog” and she plans to be CEO by year eight of her ten year plan. Sapphire is a short read, but what it lacks in length it more than makes up for in content.

I found myself pushed to my emotional limits while reading Sapphire. Taylor guards herself so carefully, always staying in complete control of everything in her life. When Adam comes along and challenges her, everything she has built up starts to crack. He forces her to acknowledge that she wants to let go, she wants to lose control, and more t

Sapphire is a erotically ravishing story that brims with passion, desire, seduction, and sensuality. Taylor is all about control. She would not be the success that she is today without it. Like most women executives she is married to her work and her personal life is stale and boring. She never thought that a Christmas party would change everything…

Adam Kirliss is sexy, dangerous, and dominant, everything that Taylor should dislike, well the dangerous and dominant things at least. When he looks

So I did, thanks to NetGalley. Awesome place for us readers/bloggers. You should give it a visit if you're a book blogger, I'm loving it. But anyways, the book.
The first thing that makes it attractive, considering the genre, is the fact that it's rather short. I mean it's like 32k words I think, some 90 pages or something. Considering s

Sapphire is a short, intense story, easily read in one sitting. The intensity is what drew me in and kept me reading late into the night.

Taylor has no time for real pleasure, instead she finds pleasure working her way up the corporate ladder. One of her most recent triumphs included working with Adam Kirliss whom she intends to keep strictly as a business relationship. Taylor's curiosity is aroused by Adam's boldness and his offer. She's in need of a release from the stress of work and

I have to admit I read platinum before this one, so I went in reading this book with high expectations and I'm not overly excited about this one as I was with platinum, But I'm also not totally disappointed either.
