Buddha in Redface
The land on which the first atomic bomb was built in Los Alamos had also been used as ceremonial land over the millennia. At one point a ceremony was performed by Power Dreamers in which a power gourd was buried on the land. This gourd was later revived by the dreamers who worked on the Manhattan Project.

Having met the author at an Indian Health Service conference (he's a practicing clinical psychologist working with Navajo and Apache people) I couldn't resist getting one of his books because he was pretty amazing in person. Funny, self-deprecating, insightful, without pretension.
