I liked this book. It has a lot of extra stuff in it that the books dont have. Its kind of like special features. I thought it was very interesting too though. It has a bunch of information in it about egyptian gods and the history of egypt and i always love learning about that stuff. Its part of the reason i read the kane chronicles in the first place and i love them. I recommend this book if you read the kane chronicles because it really helps you understand a lot of it if you just read them o...more

Well first of all, it says the author of this book is Rick Riordan but its not. When I first found that, I was shocked. Its not written by Rick Riordan. Its written by somebody else. If you want proof that I am telling the truth, go check on amazon.com and type in ‘Kane Chronicles Survival Guide', then look in the reviews. Although overall the book was good but could have been better. I am not saying this because I don't like color books. I am a big fan of Rick Riordan.

I liked this guide book because it had more information than what you could get from reading the books, it wasn't just a summary, although some of it was. I didn't like how you weren't sure what was fact and what was fiction but it did have a good section on Egyptian history. I liked the illustrations and I wish there were more of them. I also liked the interview with Sadie because I miss the characters from the series.

Overall, it was informative but still kind of repetitive from the books.

I think the book was really good and it had a lot of information. It will be very useful for me because I will be acting as Sadie.

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because most of the information was already in the books and also because I was expecting it to have a quiz or something similar to the one in Percy Jackson's but I loved the mini pyramid

This book is like percy jackson's survival guide with short stories in them. I like the short stories and the pictures in the book. There is a lot of information on magical items and the egyptian gods. Important buildings that the egyptians built. How egyptian gods are like greeks gods; the gods are one big family who marry each other.

It's like a guide that tells you about Ra the sun god, and his family tree. And also it tells you about the obelisk needles that is built all over the world, even the tales of wands, weapons, and different artifacts of power. It also tells us about magical specialties.
It's also like a guide that tells you how to be an Egyptian Magician

I liked the information I got from it and the voices that they put with the characters. I like hearing and seeing the characters I'm reading about even if sometimes they don't exactly turn out how I imagined them. Plus it had more information on Ancient Egypt which is always cool.

This book is just amazing. I love this. Even better that the Percy Jackson Ultimate Guide. And the the best for me. Percy Jackson is my highest standard, but I have to say. Kane Chronicles is better the Percy Jackson..... There. Said it...

I really expected this to be more like the Percy Jackson Essential book, but it wasn't. It was WAYYY too "educational", mostly about the Egyptian gods/characters in the books but nothing really fun like that. :( Disappointment!

I really enjoyed the Kane Chronicles Survival Guide I think I thick it was even better than the first one Rick Riordan did for The Heroes Of Olympus. I hope he writes more books and more Survival Guides for them

Contains cool illustrations and nice tidbits about the Egyptian history and culture; it even shows you an illustration of the hieroglyphs, which is so awesome to learn about!
Kim
A nice refresher for the series thus far, and since I have a hard time picturing the characters, I found this to be a helpful visual guide as well.
Sam
Cute. Wasn't expecting too much - only bought it for the sake of my Riordan shelf. I now have a pyramid of KC characters. Aren't I cool?

Really good! I think the only way it could be better if there was like a quiz "what patron go would you have?" or something.

What lovely little book! Very informative and with great art. A must for fans of the Kane Chronicles!

Has some really neat insight to the characters and some little extras that you don't see in the books!

Yeah. You know why I gave it 5 stars?
Because it's expensive. The velvet-red-colored cover (like that of the Percy Jackson's series) with changing pictures if you tilt it on one side. The glossy paper. And look how much ink it took! A bit worth it-- if you're really an avid fan of Ric Riordan. Great pictures. Gives you a little knowledge about Egypt, the House of Life & [of course], Magic! ~ blah. blah. The usual meet-the-characters and the-places-they-go or magical-weapons-they-use stuff. Y...more

The nook version is the best because it's interactive and has audio and animation.

Very cool because it tells you everything from the series plus more!
Logan
Great pics and details...it had really interesting facts.
Maria Bonano
I loved to "see" their faces as I had imagined.

This is a perfect tool when you want to go back and remember some of the facts the author was so gracious enough to research, as well as a few facts from His Kane Chronicle stories. It really comes in handy when you and your daughter are having a difference of opinion of Ancient Egypt. I also like the activity recommendations from the author. We just might try our hand at a little hieroglyphics. I just wish the author would continue this series or create a new Egyptian based series.
