Ai miei tempi si preferiva indirizzare gli studenti verso la manualistica di stampo prettamente italiano - Pasquali, ça va sans dire, era un must - forse per un latente desiderio di rivalsa verso la scuola germanica e la scuola francese (gli italiani sono arrivati dopo, purtroppo).
Questa lettura nasce dal desiderio di conoscere l'Auerbach filologo dopo averne apprezzato la genialità di dantista e critico letterario (esemplari i suoi studi su Dante e tutt'ora insuperato il celeberrimo Mimesis).
