Rowan asks me to read this book to him almost every night, especially now that he is eating by mouth rather than g tube fed. He asks me about a million questions, wanting all the facts to be expounded on and to clarify things that he is confused about. He is even retaining some of what it tells him and loves when we get to the liver since he thinks it looks like a tongue. I find it boring, but he finds it infinitely fascinating. The illustrations in this book are great, creative, and engaging. The information is basic and easy to understand, but the overall text doesn't have much of a flow or a very solid ending. I also didn't agree with some aspects of the nutrition information. I found myself editing some of the text. It has the feel of a book published in the 80s or 90s, so I was surprised to find it was published in 2006. This book was okay, but not my favorite.
