Other than what I learned in high school, this is the first book I have read about th civil war. I picked this book up at our church book fair this year for 50 cents. What a bargain! This book of only 125 pages is loaded with knowledge. You will learn where the word ozarks derives from. This is a really interesting book on the Civil war in Missouri and Arkansas. As a civil war buff I am always looking for new material and this book was it.
I purchased because we were taking a trip to Pea Ridge Battlefield in Northwest Arkansas and it provided a nice history before we got there.
