Caretakers of Eternity is a ghost story that takes place in a vineyard in Arizona. Horrible things have taken place there and a little girl dies and ends up haunting the place. Years later the current owner, Robert, wants to move to California so he makes a deal with a local real estate agent, Jennifer, to sell her the place. He's had a dream that she is the new Caretaker and he makes her promise to never sell the place.

Edward Gordon has mastered the art of writing and it shows in Caretakers of Eternity.

The focus of the novel is a winery in Arizona called "Eternity Vineyards" that was the location of a Satanic Ritual that produces "Black Wine". Those who drink the wine are infected with an addiction that is all too similar to drug-addiction, and it causes the drinker to do horrible things in order to produce more wine. But the production of the wine has been dormant for years.
