After completing Showoff, I can't wait to read the rest of the Swindle series. Griffin and his gang of friends were back to business as usual, after Savannah's dog Luthor goes wild at a dog show in the local mall. He injures one of the prize show dogs, and is taken from Savannah and put in the pound. Griffin bales Luthor out, but Savannah knows something or someone had set Luthor off, and that he didn't just randomly decide to attack a dog. This sparks a plan for Griffin and the gang which invol ...more

I like this book because it has mysteries. The characters are Luther, Griffin and Emma. Luther is the dog and Griffin is the owner. The problem is Griffin trains Luther to bet a 3 gold medalist dog. But thats where things got a bit bad. At the dog show it got very very crowded. The police came and pushed the crowd back. Then something tried to attack the dog that was on the stage. At the very end Luther bet’s Electra the 3 gold medalist. I recommend this book. It’s funny and full of mysteries.

Showoff is a book about a kid called Griffin Bing who is taking care of a grumpy dog called Luther, who was taken away from his owner, Savana. Griffin was given the name, “The-man-with-the-plan” because he pretty much always comes up with an idea to fix something that has gone wrong. Also, Griffin is best friends with this kid called Ben, who was originally terrified of Luther. Savanah is another one of Griffins friends. One day, Savanah brought Luther, Griffin, and Ben to the mall to se

I started at page 30 and ended at page 75. In this part of the story, Griffin and Ben (main characters) save Luthor, a dog, from the pound because they felt bad for it, and so that they can pay for a fine that it caused for the Drysdales the previous owners of Luthor and friends of Griffin and Ben, which is a seven million dollar fine for injuring Electra (a dog that was going to win a dog contest). Showoff by Gordon Korman is the fourth book in the fabulous Swindle series (with the adorable, slightly goofy-looking Doberman on the cover of each) featuring the man-with-the-plan, Griffin Bing and his wonderful friends.

In this touching tale, Luthor, the Doberman who is not goofy at all in the "real" world of the story, causes a ruckus at a dog show, injuring the most famous multiple award-winning dog, who was on her way to becoming a four-time National Champion.

Showoff is from a series called Swindle. It is the newest, fourth, book. Showoff is all about dogs! Luthor is in a dog show at the mall with top dogs. When he goes berserk at the mall's dog show the dogs go on an adventure - sting operation. Will they pull it off?

I think Showoff would be suitable for middle to upper grades (3-5). This story would interest students who are intrigued with dogs or animals. It provides students with a mystery which may motivate reluctant readers to read on to find o

This book was actually pretty good. What I found about this book was that you can never give up on a person or even an animal. It is filled with parts that are very heart warming but then very competitive. I recommend this book to all those animal lovers because it teaches that you have to be kind to your pets and to other people. But it was a little boring at the beginning but the good thing was that itgot exciting going to the end.
I thought this was a very funny and interesting book. I also had a connection to it because Griffin and Ben had to save their friend's dog from being put down. I have a dog, so I understand the sadness the dog's owner would have felt if the dog had to have been put down. This book is about a dog named Luthor, who attacks the best dog show in the world. Luthor's owner, Savannah, and her family are sued for Luthor's outburst. Savannah is forced to give Luthor to the pound to save money for their u ...more
