4 stars as I’m mostly reviewing for the recipes/food.

So, the advice isn’t great, particularly the promise of weight loss when switching to a vegan diet, if weight loss is needed. I’m really sick of that one. And there are lots of “model like” photos of the author that kind of annoyed me (though similar ones in Alicia Silverstone's book didn’t bother me at all, nor in most books) but then there was a great photo of the author with her two rescued dogs and I warmed up to the photos. I have only tried a couple of recipes so far, but they have all been amazing! The photos alone are drool worthy or food porn-ish as we like to call it. Especially the dessert section. I can't help but stare at the baked doughnuts - so yummy looking! However, the recipes themselves are easy to follow and most of the ingredients are basic. This is definitely a cookbook worth buying!

Chloe has a very wide variety of recipes in her book. There are dinner party-type appetizers, hearty burgers and Italian pastas, Asian and Carribbean-inspired fare and oh-so-mouthwatering desserts.

While I waited for this to become available at the library I went ahead & made a few dishes from Chloe's blog. These included:

Pro's- Simple recipes, both in regards to ingredients and assembly. Good for people starting to eat a plant based diet and to cook vegan.

Con's- The pictures of the food are nice, but they should have included more pictures of food and less of Chloe, I mean, she isn't hard on the eyes but this is a cookbook.

Likes: Make ahead tips, easy to follow instructions

Dislikes: Some of the recipes to me weren't recipes, Avocado on Toast to me is not a recipe. Some of the pictures throughout the book were of Chloe instead of food, I would much rather have seen more pictures of the food.

Overall I think this would be a good cookbook for anyone who wants to give vegan cooking a try.

I have been sampling several vegan cookbooks over the past few months, as my husband has switched fully vegan and I am 90% of the way there. Chloe's is absolutely my favorite. Everything I have made from her cookbook is phenomenal - and fairly easy to make! I also carefully track calories, and many of the recipes are surprisingly lower in calories than one would expect, so don't let some of the recipes scare you. I saw this chef interviewed and thought she was adorable. She has a great philosophy about vegan food being something you can incorporate into your diet- it's not all or nothing. She seems incredibly driven and enthusiastic about her recipes. Plus, she claims to test each one at least 50 times, which is pretty damn impressive. Lovely Cookbook! I'm so happy I discovered Chloe! She was the winner of Cupcake Wars when her vegan cupcakes beat out the non-vegan contestants. How cool is that? She also has a restaurant in New York. Definitely someone to check out in the culinary world!

I first picked this book up because I'd seen the author on Cupcake Wars, thought her winning cupcakes looked delicious, and went to her website, which mentioned this cookbook. I can't believe that I forgot to mark this book read. Perhaps it's because I've been too busy using it. Chloe's Kitchen is an amazing vegan cookbook, and possibly one of the best cookbooks I've ever used. Her food is delicious; carnivore friends enjoy the dishes I've served them from this book and asked for more. My husband begs me to make the dishes regularly. Oh goodness, I just wrote a long review of this cookbook but it appears that Goodreads swallowed it up. I'll try to hit the main points again.

This cookbook is a great choice for someone who is trying out veganism or doing VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6:00 to Lose Weight and Restore Your Health . . . for Good. Recently having visited NYC and enjoying a meal at the much acclaimed vegan restaurant "Chloe's", I felt compelled to try a couple of recipes from Chloe Coscarelli's cookbook. I tried the main courses, Country Meatloaf and Golden Gravy, and Herbed Polenta Cutlets with Marsala Mushroom Ragout. Next time around both would need a bit of tweaking to suite my personal vegan taste, but did give me helpful tips and ideas to continue down my plant-based road to healthy eating.

I love this cookbook. One thing I really appreciate in a cookbook is photos, and this one has tons of great photos of its recipes. Everything that we've made out of this so far has been fantastic-- the sweet potato gnocchi, the barbecue tofu pizza, the falafel sliders with tahini sauce and avocado hummus (both sauces were delish too!), her 5-ingredient salad, etc. The other thing I love about these recipes is there are tons that can please not only vegans/vegetarians, but those who regularly eat ...more

I'm a cookbook snob. The photos of her food are beautiful, but there aren't enough of them. Drop the pics of Chloe herself, and highlight the recipes and the luscious food. Many of her recipes call for more oil or nuts than I would ever use, so I didn't try those. I liked some recipes, didn't care for others. I did like that she uses everyday ingredients in some interesting combinations. Great for someone just starting out, but I'm looking for more.

I love the recipes in the book! Chloe's culinary training really shows. The only downside is these vegan recipes have a lot of added fat from oil, etc. This is a great book for people new to vegan cooking. It will convince them that vegan cooking can really be delicious. Other recipes from cookbooks like Forks Over Knives are healthier, but not as delicious as these. It is a lot more challenging to make food taste better without added fat.

Great photos, fairly simple ingredients, and extra points for providing gluten-free substitution instructions for nearly everything. I was not that impressed with my first go through of this cookbook. The recipes are vegan, but not necessarily whole foods. (For example, tempeh burger on a white bun) I did mark a few recipes to try. I might come back to this cookbook if they turn out well.

Made her "Chlostess" Cupcakes over the weekend and they were a HUGE hit! Made the gluten-free version and they turned out perfect, tasted just like the original Hostess Cupcakes! Non-vegan family was impressed, which says something :)

Love this book, Chloe's style and selection of recipes. So far everything I have made has come out really great. I've made the chocolate chip cookies several times, the black bean cakes were great and so was the artichoke dip.

We found several recipes that are on our menu rotation. Although we are not vegan, we add in the chicken or whatever and the meals are delicious and a bit more healthy ;) Very tasty!! The chimichuri tacos are AMAZING!!!

I thoroughly enjoy this cookbook and have not had a single non-dessert recipe disappoint me. The only recipe which did not float my boat was the mint ice cream. Otherwise some of my favorite recipes are the cheezy broccoli soup in bread bowls, the alfredo sauce and my absolute favorite is the Barley Bliss Casserole! I have made several of Chloe's recipes, from both her cookbook and her website, and they have all been delicious and also quite easy to put together. I think a lot of people are afraid of vegan cooking and baking because they think there will be a lot of weird or hard-to-find ingredients required. Not in Chloe's recipes; the ingredients needed are easy to find, easy to use, and make delicious recipes which will knock your socks off.
