Revenge is one of the most powerful motivating forces we can experience. A wild justice that seeks no counsel or consults no jury. People have written films about it such as Quentin Tarantino's epic two-film extravaganza Kill Bill. There have been classic novels such as Carrie by Stephen King.

Flashes of Revenge is Darren Sant's take on the idea of revenge. It's not all blo

Darren Sant is a man of many hats; he is a writer, he is a blogger (Close to The Bone), and I think he may drink rather heavily if there is any truth told on his blog. It seems he and his mates over there are always finding a reason to raise a pint or quart in someone’s or something’s honor. Understand, Darren Sant is a loyal subject of the Queen over there in merry old England. Why do I bring up that point? It gives you a little more understanding into his dark sense of humor, his edge and pluc

I really enjoyed Flashes Of Revenge. It’s like it says in the title, these are pieces of flash fiction tales where revenge is the centre-piece.

I enjoyed the spread of subject matter and the way it reminded we that we all have issues we’d like to straighten out, it’s just that most of us leave them to fester for most of the time.

There’s an element to each that suggests there’s a challenge on to guess what’s about to happen and how or why; if that’s the case, he had me every time with his cruel t

Revenge is bittersweet.Darren Sant's Flashes of Revenge is a collection of 6 short story, where revenge is served fast, mercilessly and without warning.

In just a few words the author manages to tell a complete story, capture its mood with descriptive writing that is wonderfully done, the character traits and thoughts and the motivating factor for revenge. It was a fast, entertaining read and I enjoyed the stories, particularly 'The Ungrateful Dead'.

If you are a fan of intense stories that don't sh

I have always been a fan of three-minute mysteries and I enjoyed this collection of flash fiction in much the same way. Darren Sant proves to have a way with words even in this shorter format. The opening quotes set the stage nicely. It was hard to believe that the writer could manage to throw in twist endings with so few words, but here he succeeds in doing just that. Part of the reason these brief tales work so well is because his narrative is exceptionally visual. Just a glimpse of the ...more

Revenge comes in many different forms, with so many causes. Prolific author Darren Sant has put together six startling tales of revenge.

Sant's stories aren't all 'Kill Bill' style tales of violence and death but they are all well-written and intelligently executed.

As always, Sant's stories are easy to read and highly enjoyable.

Yet another 86p Kindle bargain from Darren.

Darren knows how to tell a story. And that's the hallmark for any novelist; a person who knows how to tell a good story.

Darren Sant was born in 1970 and raised in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire which is in the United Kingdom. He moved to Hull in East Yorkshire in 2001.

A life long avid reader he always wanted to be a writer. However, teenage years, girls, work, pubs and football provided adequate distraction until his late twenties. After attending a few creative writing classes he started writing poetry. After mov
