Wind Tunnel - A Short Story
by
Lane Diamond (Goodreads Author)
Ted volunteered for the mission because, after all, it was just a routine trip to Mars. What could possibly go wrong?
In the deepest, darkest reaches of space, one must fill the vacuum, the void, the emptiness. Yet do we humans have the "psychological stuff" for deep space travel? If not, we may end up like Ted.

Not a bad story, but I was disappointed in its length and lack of depth. The story began with a conversation between the doctor and a friend about his desire to help people, and I expected more of that - the medicinal, helping side - to feature in the rest of the story, not for it to be just about running. I think this story can easily be expanded to show more of what a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders does, as well as the landscape of the third-world country.
