Labaratory Technician of words, Shanny Jean Maney turns plain language into curious, knowledge-hungry poetry. Alarm clocks, dogs and Jeff Goldblum wait in the center of the Venn Diagram where the mysteries of the intangible philosophers of our day intersect. This book stands as a reminder that our hearts can hurt from knowing too much, our laugh lines can deepen and that t...more

Shanny is a wonderful person who is able to channel all kinds of feelings into heartfelt, sincere poetry. More than once, you'll be smiling or giggling to yourself while reading a piece to suddenly find that you've had the rug swept out from under you by a heartbreaking, personal revelation.

"I Love Science" is a lot of feelings. It's a lot of feelings that I'm sure were simultaneously impossibly tough and therapeutic to share to a wide audience, but I'm so glad they were. Shanny is the kind of...more

This one covers all the emotions. You sink right into the thing.

Poetry that's personable, non-stodgy, funny, heartbreaking, funny again, tear-inducing, and overall optimistic? Well done, Shanny!

a beautiful combination of science, art, poetry, humor and heartache.

i love how the poems are divided into parts, a hypothesis' outline (?) and how she's very genuinely sincere about everything, including her feelings towards her friends, family, babies and husband.

without a doubt, my favorite writebloody book so far (also, very very rereadable. i rarely find rereadable books, but this one is just wonderful). go get your copy now! please?

A book full of surprise smiles and occasional a face you want to hide because your heart is so full and you're unsure if you're completely broken or set free. Can't wait to read this again and again.

Basically, THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE BOOK. A truly funny poet is one in a million, and Maney makes it look so damn effortless. It's also rather poignant.
