What I love about this story is the exotic with the touch of the familiar. Or perhaps it is because I, too, relate to a post-colonial environment. Either way, Damask's Myriad reflect the human society in which they live. Jan has her hands full trying to balance her roles as mother, wolf and leader of her pack--all while an ancient evil stirs, hellbent on mindless revenge. I wasn't sure about this one at some points, but I ended up being swept away again by the story. A softer and another echo of the first, it deals directly with the consequences and dives deep into the effects of events on Jan. I ended up crying over the ending, which was excellent. This is more of a character study of a novel, very psychological. I can't wait to see where things will go next. Definitely worth a read, and you will be as excited as I an about where the story will go after this. th...more

I still love how this series is different from the mainstream in that the main characters are family. That and the author does an excellent job at detail with making it boring.
