Intrigued by the title, I picked up this book for some light reading. For a couple of reasons, I stopped about halfway through to read Murder in the Bastille, an earlier novel in the series. In my opinion the Bastille book is a much better book.

I love this series of mysteries, set in Paris, about the intrepid sleuth Aimee LeDuc. It's so fun to read about her racing around Paris in her vintage Chanel suits. In this one, Aimee finds a baby in her courtyard after receiving a mysterious phone call. Various high jinks ensue, and Aimee finds herself entangled with radical eco-protesters and nefarious oil company execs.

With this book finished, I've caught up on the Aimee Leduc mysteries series in time for the newest title to be released in the spring. Once again, it was an excellent story that tied in Paris politics, history and suspense. I found Aimee's unexpected maternal yearnings a bit unbelievable, but otherwise this entry in the series was better than the last couple.

A light read and fun for anyone who has visited Paris recently. The city is appealingly and accurately described (not the touristy places, but streets here and there from a resident's perspective). The plot is confusing and the characters only mildly interesting.

I only made it halfway through this book before I gave up. It just never grabbed me. I had picked it for its Paris locale. I'm not normally a fan of murder mysteries, so perhaps that was a poor choice.

A decent, though not fantastic, mystery series. The protaganist/heroine, Aimee Leduc, is memorable and the setting (all around Paris) is much fun. I will continue to read them!

Another interesting summer read. I didn't know there was an island in the middle of Paris, and the story was good.
