I beta read this book a several months ago so I already knew mostly what would happen and I still couldn't put this book down. I stayed up way too late because there was no good place to stop. I kept saying one more chapter and I'll sleep. That's not how it happened.

Then this morning I was so tired I almost yelled at my iPhone for waking me up. Thanks for almost making me verbally abuse my sweet and innocent phone Lavinia. :)

I wish my phone was unlocked so I could have a motivational message w

At the heart of this book is the idea of a bodyguard and his employer falling in lust, but instead of a rock star (like in the 1992 movie ‘The Bodyguard’ with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston), here the second main character is a Bollywood actor. He has received threats before the story even starts, is trying to hide he is gay, and wants to finish ‘just one more movie’ before he retires. Add all the exotic colors and flavors of Mumbai and the Indian culture, sizzling erotic tension from the fir ...more

I really enjoyed this story. It's kind of sweet, a bit sexy and extremely fun.

I loved both Brent and Raj. The way Brent is so adamant about keeping things professional but still unable to resist the charms Raj puts on him was adorable, IMO. I found it funny, too, because he really has no will power when it comes to Raj. LOL. Raj was just plain sexy. He wouldn't stop until he had Brent in his clutches. And even though he only got teases of what he and Brent could have, he wouldn't let go or give

I really wanted to like this one and it had some good points to it. Likeable characters, interesting location and storyline but it just didn't jell for me as well as would have liked. This is an extremely slow burn romance, frustratingly so for me at most points.

Brent Hawthorne is a London bodyguard recently moved to India with friends to make a go of starting a security business with clients from Bollywood. Their first job turns out to be the protection of one of the industry's top stars, Ra

I’ve read Lavinia Lewis’ Shifter’s Haven series, so I was looking forward to her new book, Bollywood Desires. Set in exotic Mumbai, India, the novella tells the story of British bodyguard Brent Hawthorne and his newest client, Indian film star Raj Khan. Raj needs protection because he’s been stalked by an unknown assailant who is sending him threatening letters. Raj also has another problem: he’s gay, in the closet and after his next movie he is retiring from acting. As Brent and Raj grow closer ...more

I was lucky enough to be one of he first betas on this story and this was my first look at he new version. Lavinia did such a great job in schooling me in Bollywood because I was really clueless before. I loved the relationship between Brent and Raj - it was both sweet and hot, the best kind of love. Raj immediately hooked into my heart and Brent grew on me shortly thereafter. Fabulous read. Highly recommended.

As befitting the 4*, i really liked this story. The build of tension between the two was good, Raj playing with Brent's patience was funny, Mr Nasty only became more obvious just before he was exposed. I would have loved it to be a bit longer, to get beneath the characters a bit more.

Gonna be honest, I was originally put off by the fact it was set in Bollywood, there are just some settings I wouldn't read, but I have to say that I absolutely loved! this book.

Article first published as eBook Review: Bollywood Desires by Lavinia Lewis on Blogcritics.

This is the first Lavinia Lewis title I've read, but based on this hot novel, I'll definitely be coming back for more.Bollywood Desiresis a m/m erotic romance set in Mumbai. It tells the story of Bollywood star Rajkumar Khan and bodyguard Brent Hawthorne.

Brent's security company want Raj's business, and so Brent goes along to a meeting to try and win the contract. However, as soon as he meets Raj, he has m

This was frustrating because the story had so much potential. Initially, I was really enjoying it, until I realized that Brent and Raj’s relationship just wasn’t progressing. I read the rest of it feeling irritated. So unfortunately, though I had high hopes for this one, I can’t rate this with more than 3 stars.

My problem with it? Brent made perfectly clear time and time again that he wasn’t willing to be Raj’s dirty little secret. Raj professed to understand and then a paragraph later would be

This story was full of stupid characters. The was Jack acted so unprofessional and focused only on money, brrr. God it went on my nerves. And Brent wasn't far away, too. From the start, he was moody and irritating. Which I didn't understand. Why moving to Mumbai if you hate everything there is to hate about the city. Jeez this attitude was bad for my enjoyment. The romance between Raj and Brent was comical and pulling enough, but not for my taste. They behaved childish around each other, which s ...more

Lavinia discovered reading at an early age and could always be found with her nose in a book. She loved getting lost in a fantasy world even then. When her parents bought her a typewriter for Christmas at aged eleven, her fate was sealed. She spent hours dreaming up characters and creating stories. Not a lot has changed.
