It was worse than winning the lottery--much worse. This bequest might mean more money, but the strings attached had Pandora McVie tied up in knots. Respecting Uncle Jolley's last wishes meant spending time isolated in the Catskills with Michael Donahue, her least favorite--though best looking---distant relative and co-beneficiary.

Living with a carrot-topped termagant wasn'...more

One of Nora's oldies--first published in 1986.

Easy going, pleasant read. A good romance, an interesting bit of mystery, likable main characters. Not a bad way to spend an hour or so.

fairly standard plot--eccentric (and very very rich)relative leaves bulk of his estate to our hero and heroine(distant cousins) provided they both live in the mansion for the next six months. Of course they can't stand each other at the outset. Of course the other relatives do their best to sabotage the arrangement....more

This is an interesting story about two people who 'hate' each other (but probably conveniently play off each other instead). They get stuck in the same huge mansion for six months to save said mansion from their power/wealth-hungry relatives. It's an interesting story, and I like Nora Roberts' style, but it wasn't the best book.

At the time though, it was a great way to get my mind off my 'harder' books, and it was available. I needed a romance at the time. It wasn't frothy like a lot of the thin...more

2.5 STARS

Rich uncle dies - leaving the ones who want his money little trinkets and leaves his two favourite family members the bulk of his fortune. BUT they must live together in his home for 6 months without more than 2 days apart. Of course Pandora (neice by blood) and Michael (nephew by marriage) hate one another with passion...but someone hates them more and wants them to leave the house

Meh. I am not sure if I like Nora Roberts earlier romance novels. There is little suspense and the romanc...more

The book was okay. I have enjoyed Nora Roberts recently, but some things about this book really bothered me. Obviously, it's a romance novel but the characters are supposed to be cousins. They explain several times that they are not actually related at all but the fact that they keep playfully calling each other cousins as they are like making out and sleeping with each other continually creeped me out. I was expecting a big twist at the end but, there was none. If I had to describe this book in...more

I picked up this novel on the cheap for the Kindle and figured it would be a good fluffy read after reading a book that was rather heavy and it definitely fitted the bill.

While this novel is a bit dated overall, I still enjoyed the story even if it was almost too predictable. If you are looking for edge-of-your-seat type suspense this may not be your book but the romance is sweet and lovely. It's a good fluffy type book for the day that you need it and I have yet to meet a NR book I hate.

This was an easy read and I started off okay with it, but I really had trouble with the hero and heroine being cousins and having a relationship. I may have been able to get past them being cousins by marriage, but all throughout the book they kept calling each other "cousin" and the kissing cousin thing creeped me out. A lot. I stuck it out because I really hate giving up on books. It's doubtful I would have gone three stars even without that. It was fast and easy, but not certainly not fabulou...more

Oiya, buku ini udah kubaca ulang februari lalu, tapi baru inget masukkin sekarang, heheh....more

Not my favorite of Nora Roberts. I could not get past the fact throughout the book that the main characters were distant cousins yet falling in love and ultimately married. The story line about inheriting a rich uncles estate only if they lived in his house together for 6 mos was a little too far fetched and predictable for me.

I read this for the Bout of Books read-a-thon.

I thought this was good, it had an interesting mystery but I felt like the romance started to feel a bit too possessive. I enjoyed reading this, it's fast paced and had a good plot. I'm not sure if I will read any more books from Nora Roberts but I'm glad I took a chance with it.

Distant cousins (or are they even directly related?) thrown together in response to their uncle's will, to live together for 6 months. I wonder what will happen? Most of it was pretty predictable, but the mystery part of the story was kind of interesting. My family is so boring!

This book was a bit strange for me. I couldn't get passed the fact that they were cousins, and continued to refer to each other throughout the book. It was strange. The storyline kept me reading, but the whole we're-family-and-now-getting-involved storyline didn't agree with me.

This book was a quick read and kept my interest from the start. It's an older Nora Roberts book, but I always like her style. At the end, I felt a bit like I was playing a CLUE game and it didn't end up being a big surprise, but it did entertain me!
Nancy
This is my first Nora Roberts read. It was entertaining, but, not very deep. A good book to read to take your mind off of every day stress, but, no mental challenge. Kind of predictable, but entertaining.

silly romance between a man and a woman who jointly inherited a property and fortune. But, they must live together for 6 months prior to earning it. And, again, they lived happily ever after.

I would've liked it a lot more if the main female character hadn't been so arrogant and superior. She's super-pretentious and thinks that makes her an intellectual.
Nancy
I really enjoyed this book. It has been awhile since I have read a Nora Roberts book, but I am looking forward to reading some of her other books again.

Unpredictable murderer!
Ceritanya seru, pembunuhnya sampai akhir gak bisa ditebak.
Romance-nya sweet, suka sama cara Michael meluluhkan Pandora ^^

So I bought this book because it was cheap and since I have never read a Nora Roberts book I thought I'd give it a try. There were parts I liked like the mystery of who was trying to hurt them. It reminded me of her In Death series. The romance though was blah and I was not a fan of how they spoke. I kept imaging a fake snobby accent when they spoke. Besides the little mystery going on it was pretty boring. Usually I don't give one star reviews to books I finish but I'm making an exception for t...more

Cute fluff. A nice read after finishing a really intense book. I really enjoyed this older Nora Roberts short.

I love a good, mindless trash novel. True to style, Nora Roberts once again fills the bill.
Laura McNeil
very good romance mystery (ok not so much mystery...but a little :) very light/easy book
Aviva
An enjoyable light read with characters I'd have liked more time with. :)
Niki
Love Nora Roberts and all of her books they are fast, easy, fun romances.

When a will is read, family members are shocked and go into a tizzy.

decent cotton candy/ bathtub read, great for bedtime!
Jody
as always another great book by Nora Roberts:)

Her family were avid readers, so books were always important in her life. She attended a Catholic school and credits the nuns with instilling in her a sense of discipline. During her sopho...more
