Cinderella goes to Dallas? Okay I'd better explain myself.
A family of perfect, rich and powerful alpha males.
A hardworking, poor but beautiful and intelligent virgin.
This all reminded me of the 1950’s styled Mills & Boon or Harlequin romances, spiced up with a little more sex.
The storyline is terribly weak and the characters are of the cardboard cutout type with, I suspect, no development of either.

Why did I finish this? I knew after half an hour I wasn't enjoying it and I kept going thinking it must get better. It didn't. Lacking in plot, characterisation and editing. I liked the idea of the plot, but it was too jumpy, the characters didn't seem to like each other (even at the end) and everything was too convenient. Lots of typos and spelling mistakes and wrong words throughout.
Amy Harper just got the dream job she wanted right out of college. She got a job working for Lucas Anderson as an executive secretary. With this job she is one step closer to her future plan. But what she wasn't expecting after meeting her boss was being really attracted to him...

Really enjoyed this read ! It was quick and cute perfect for an afternoon at the beach read. Unfortunately I wasn't at the beach but I would not be against reading it again this summer! Looking forward to the next few books! Cute but very predictable. However, I only read for HEA's so aren't they all predictable in a way?

I think I've been reading way too many billionaire romance stories lately. They all seem quite alike.
That's not to say that I didn't like this one. It was a very basic romance book, the characters were mostly nice. I would love to work for a company like the Anderson Corp!

Where do I even begin? Ok so I started reading ms. Anne's tycoon series and I thought they were great reads, simple story lines, a good rainy day book. The one thing that has been bugging me when I started reading the billionaire series is how similar no scratch that I felt like I was reading the vomited version of tycoon series. The characters are pretty much carbon copies of each other.

Dear Mrs. Anne,
I'd like to first say that I understand how difficult it is to write a novel, get it out there, and expose yourself to every critic. I wish however, that you'd had a good critique partner to show you some of the flaws of the book.
Good points:
The excerpt chapter that had me read the book was what got me to buy it. You have a very pretty cover!
Bad points:
I found some the actions of the main characters very unrealistic. Unrealistic as in took me out of the fictitious dream and had...more

His father tired of waiting for grandchildren decides to take matter into his own hands and plays match maker. In steps Amy, a girl straight out of college who attends a job fair and is spotted by said billionaires father.

I LOVED THIS SHORT STORY EVEN WITH ALL IT'S DYSFUNCTIONAL CHARACTERS & ALL.
Ok, people this is fiction. Hello, make believe. I don't know what others are expecting but if you are looking for a classic or the great American novel you are in the wrong section. This is romance with a capital "R".
Amy & Lucas are thrown together in a working environment by Lucas' father Joseph. The former owner of the company that Lucas now heads. The instant attraction makes the two uncomfortable but they...more

Review: The Billionaire wins the Game by Melody Anne
3 STARS
This is the first book in the billionaire bachelors series. I liked it wish it did not have the love scenes in so much detail.
Joseph Anderson retired and thinks his three sons should marry and give him grandchildren to play with. He found the perfect wife for Lucas his first child.
Amy Harper had just graduated from collage and Joseph Anderson hired her to be executive secretary for Lucas Anderson now the head of the company.

This book starts out with Joseph Anderson plotting to get his eldest son married, so he and his wife can have grandchildren by Christmas time. I thought Joseph was seriously funny, and an adorable old man. I loved him in this book! Anyways getting back to the story line, Joseph hires Amy Harper to be Lucas' assistant. But things go wrong with Lucas and Amy suddenly feel an instant chemistry between them. Lucas doesn't want to open himself up to another women, because he knows that can lead to hi...more
Well, if the idea of simple, ordinary and not-so-pretty young girl being dominate by sexy, hot-as-fuck bilionaire always intrigue you, then you'll choose the right book.
The storyline is quite simple. The guy which is irresistable because he's ridiculously hot and rich, fallin for the orphan but hardworking young woman who works at his office as his secretary. But there's a twist, the girl is working for him because the guy's father wants her to. The guy's father plays as a secret matchmaker for...more

I did enjoy this book but i will admit that my teeth were aching by the time I was finished. It was just so sugary sweet.I have to say that my favorite parts were actually involving the parents.Joesph and Katheine were amazing characters and added so much to this story.I wasn't sold on the main love interest or the main character for this book. I personally would've liked to enjoy the story of their interactions and eventually when they fell for each other. Instead the author would insert things...more
This was your standard Kindle freebie - Obvious plot, 'nice' characters and a hit and miss writing style.
Plot: There wasn't anything too the plot really. Lucas met Amy, they both fell in lust, they were forced into marriage by a pregnancy that a blind person could see coming, and then they lived happily ever after. Brilliant. Positively I think that Anne caught and described the sexual tension well.
Characters: I felt that all of the characters were just too bloody perfect. Lucas was your stand...more

I read tonnes and tonnes of romance books like this over the holidays, so I like to think I have become a bit of an expert on all things (fictional) romance. From what evidence I gathered a romance novel needs four things:
(a) Romance.
(b) A hero.
(c) A heroine.
(d) Some sort of problem for them to eventually overcome.
Good writing isn't even a requirement anymore. You just need to tick these four requirements and presto you have a romance novel. This book ticked all the boxes, and on top of that the...more

As far as romance novels goes this one is pretty standard. It was a light easy read but I felt nothing for the characters. Events were hinted at and the potential is there but nothing was explored with much depth. If you are looking for something to pass the time then sure but if you are looking for a page turner then I advise looking elsewhere.
The book was a very quick read, and I'm not too impressed with the plot.....its too clingy and all sweet. Likewise, the story just evolved around the family which make it short. Usually, when it comes to historical romance for me to appreciate one story I have to be able to laugh, cry, feel anger, and being anxious untill the end...... with a happy ending of course!

Short and syrupy sweet, The Billionaire Wins the Game, is too much sugar and not enough substance.
It's the story of Amy, a fresh out college girl whose had a rough home life, has no money and just secured a executive level job at a successful Corporation. The position just happens to be working for Lucas, oldest son of the Anderson patriarch, Joseph, who just happens to be the matchmaker between the two.

OK I am really surprised at myself because I really enjoyed this book. It was almost all fluffy bunnies and happiness and the obvious romance but I just fell into the story and it took me along for the ride.
Sometimes we need books like this, with hardly any angst, nastiness and let's face it in these days no BDSM! Hooray!! Even I can get too much of the ole raunchy, sex steaming books. I love taking the few minutes in my day where I can just sit and do whatever I'd like. I love to play my piano, but when it's too late for that, I pick up one of Melody Anne's books. I love the character of Lucas. Some may not due to his attitudes, etc. But at least the author is true to the characters she writes about. I love how she created this guy and matched him perfectly with Amy. They are night and day, and she lets the story revolve around these two different personalities sneaking in th...more
Freebies, freebies, freebies. Why do you always disappoint me? *sigh* At least this book was better than the other nonsense freebies I've read this week.
I would have enjoyed The Billionaire Wins the Game a lot if the characters didn't try to rip each other's clothes off after only hvaing known each other for a few days. Or if the characters are neither a drama queen or an arrogant bastard.

I really enjoyed The Billionaire Wins the Game by Melody Anne. I loved the premise, and totally fell in love with Joseph right away; cutest matchmaker ever.
This was a very quick read for me. I enjoyed each page. I felt there was a nice balance between sweet romance and steamy seduction.
I definitely look forward to reading more from this author, and especially continuing this series.
I recommend this book!
Happy Reading, Y'all!

This was great! This was reminiscent of a Nora Roberts book (which I loved, by the way). The patriarch of a wealthy family wants his sons married so that he can have grandchildren, lots of them. This is the story of Lucas, his firstborn son, and how he "plants" his female choice of future wife as an Executive Assistant to Lucas. Sparks fly, but they both are wary of the attraction between them. They both have preconceived notions as to why the other is interested in them. Eventually, things get...more
It was a very good read.
Passionate. Emotional. Sexy. I like the female character in this one very much. I loved her guts. A very strong character, and I am a sucker for books in which the women have some backbone. Also for men who have good family values, who understands the concept of love and companionship and are not totally cynical and shallow. This book didn't disappoint on any of the above. Both the characters were fun to read.

Every so often, particularly after reading a heavier book, you just need a fluffy romance. Just when I thought I couldn't read any more books about beautiful successful millionaires meeting the unsuspecting average girl who doesn't know she's beautiful, I find another one and get sucked in. (Though technically this one is about a billionaire so it's kind of different) The book is enjoyable. I just wish those who love passionately would fight passionately too. I get a little disappointed when the...more
