All my ratings have been pretty high lately, mostly because I choose very carefully what to read next. I value my time too much to purposefully read books I know I won’t like. So what on earth possessed me to pick up this book after the Half-Blood debacle, I have no idea.
Most of my friends loved Obsidian and I respect that, I really do. I can even see why, the ingredients are all there: a gorgeous, mean guy and a plain, book-nerdish girl, a love-hate relationship between our protagoni More...

Ok, I have to gather my thoughts now, because this book has blown my mind! I absolutely loved it! This is my first book by Jennifer, but it definitely won't be my last. I will now stalk all of her work - beware! There is no wonder she has been getting rave reviews so far.
Obsidian gets us acquainted with Katy, who has just moved to a boring small town in West Virginia, and with not-so-boring Daemon who is the most arroganthuman being she has ever met. And, lucky her (seriously! lucky h

It's official. Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my new favorite authors.
I absolutely LOVED this book. Obsidian is a brilliant, wholly entertaining first novel in what looks to be a promising science-fiction series. I was expecting good things from this as I had, after all, really enjoyed Jennifer L. Armentrout's Half-Blood. Not only did it not disappoint me, it completely surpassed my expectations and was even more enjoyable than I had been anticipating.

I’ll be honest a few months ago, I had never even heard of Jennifer L.Armentrout but then bam—there is Half-Blood and now bam--Obsidian is here and my oh my, has Jennifer took the paranormal world by storm and I hope she’s here to stay!

This Valentines Day I fell in Love with Jennifer L. Armentrout. I had been hearing through the grapevine about JLA an one particular grape has been rather loud about her work. So with all the faith that Kay @ K-books knows what she is talking about I picked up Obsidian first chance I had to read one of "my choice" reads. "E.T." was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the synopsis of this book. OK that's a lie. I thought it after I read the part about Daemon. The first thing I actually thought was "Hot damn! I gotta get me one of him!"
Take a gander over to the top of the screen, to the left the advertisement and you'll understand what I mean.

OMG, I did NOT want this book to end! I think this was hands down my favorite book in months. Please excuse me while I jump up and down and bury my face in a pillow and scream. AGAIN! LOL.
Where to start? Hmmm, this book had me grinning like a fool pretty much the entire time... well, when I wasn't ready to punch out a wall (not a bad thing though). This book had me sucked in. I laughed; I really got into the heated banter; and there were even a few parts that I cried because I felt my More...

First, a caveat: I did not enjoy this book. The following is my honest opinion, however I mean no disrespect to those of my friends who liked it.
Just to be clear, I approached Obsidian optimistically, looking for something fun and entertaining to read. Because hot alien spells fun, am I right? Particularly on the heels of a couple of quite emotionally taxing books.
Well, apparently I should have checked myself before I wrecked myself, and paid heed to those little warnin More...

I. Loved. It.
Sorta reminded me of the TV show "Roswell". Which made me imagine Daemon as Jason Behr.
But that just really worked for me :)
I loved the 2 POV thru Daemon’s eyes at the end. I had a deep thought while reading it. I always assume (reading from the girl's perspective) that of coarse the guy should know that she is interested. But reading from his perspective, I guess I could kinda see where he wasn't sure. Obsidian Review on K-Books
When I recieved this book for review, I squeeled, I mean I actually squeeled and jumped up and down with excitement a little. I was so excited. I took part in the cover and blurb reveal and ever since then I had been dying to read this book. I was not disappointed at all and I loved every moment of it. Most bloggers find it really difficult to write bad reviews, I am the opposite, I find good reviews difficult, I know, I know I have wrote like a gazillion good More...

Take some really hot, sizzling character chemistry, two stubborn love interests who know how to push each other's buttons, and add in some awesome out of this world characters and you've got the makings for one fabulously written story. OMG!! One of the best books I have read all year!! Lucky for me I was home all day, and my hubby is working 12 hours today. This book was so friggin good! I could not put it down. So I have just now finished it.
The things I loved about it :
1. The girl is not whinny. She is awesome!
2. The guy is an arrogant ass....oh and he is HOT!! My favorite kind of guy ;)
3. I have never read a book about aliens. So it was awesome that it did not feel like a book I have read a million time More...

Jennifer Armentrout’s OBSIDIAN is the perfect book for anyone who has wondered where all those dreamy alpha heroes come from. They don't grow on trees, you can't find them in a cabbage patch, but one may have sat behind you in high school math class poking your back with a pencil. Daemon is a baby alpha, which means there's an added immature gloss to the archetype, but his button pushing and hormone revving skills are already in full form. As angry as he made me in this book (and believe me, y

I loved Jennifer book Half-Blood, and I had high hopes about Obsidian and you know what? She didn’t let me down. Obsidian is so good, It’s outworldly.
This book is full of mysteries, action, and romantic tension. Obsidian a real page turner, which kept me going until the middle of the night.
I couldn’t wait to reach the end to get the answers I was looking for and yet I was dreading the end as I knew I would have to wait for book 2.

I love those two! Although Daemon tried being a dick (which he was) but you can't help but love him! I really really liked Kat she is outspoken without being arrogant, and i really did like the arguements between her and Daemon. Oh and that lunch scene, lmfao! The son of a bitch blew up my laptop.
Obsidian was a really nice surprise. I don't read a lot of YA, and when I do, I have to really, really be interested in the storyline. What drew me to this book was the whole alien element. It was so different and so fresh because of the way it was executed. Jennifer Armentrout has mad writing skills--I mean, MAD writing skills. Everything was so vivid. You could feel and see everything so clearly, in every single scene. The concept wa More...

Oh my lord, I'm so in love right now!
What a ride! And who knew I would fall for an alien. And actually enjoy a book about aliens. I never thought that would happen. Ever.
And I was so sceptical when I started this book, so sceptical it's not even funny. I saw all the great reviews but I just couldn't believe it. There was just no way.
How wrong I was.

Katy is about to start her senior year when her mother decides to move them from sunny Florida to a small town in West Virginia. Still grieving her father's death, Katy's mom decided they needed a fresh start away from the memories. In an attempt to make friends, Katy knocks on the door of her neighbor, only to be met with the most arrogant, awful boy she's ever met. Before she can even say hello, he insults her and it's all Katy can do to keep herself from slugging him. But oh, is he gorgeous.

Obsidian is nothing like you would expect. Now I don't normally read anything that has to do with Aliens, but since I am familiar with Jennifer L. Armentrout's previous book, Half-Blood, I knew that I had to read it. Armentrout just has a way with words and will make you feel a part of a story.

I decided to take my end notes for this review and put them on the top. After getting some feedback from other people, I felt like I needed to revise my original thoughts in order to make sure and stress the fact that I liked this book. Sometimes, when people read a review and see a bunch of negatives right off the bat, it's a deterrent to really notice the positives that follow. If you ask me why negatives tend to come before positives in my reviews, you won't really get a reason from me. It's

I absolutely enjoyed this one. After reading two different series titles from Jennifer Armentrout, she is my newest favorite author.
My Review:
Jennifer L. Armentrout is among the new wave of innovative YA Authors. Do not miss out!
There is so much I grasped within Obsidian, the first and foremost being Katy's character. Katy is a book reviewer and blogger, hmm- that sounds awfully familiar. She says things like: "I need brain candy before I have to More...

Well, hello perfection! No seriously, I cannot find a bad thing to say about this book (or any books Jen writes for that matter). But let’s start at the beginning.

When I found out this book was about aliens I was kind of leery about reading it. I’ve never read an alien book before like Katy the MC in the book aliens weren’t hot they are little green men or like ET. But when the twitter verse especially my blog partner and another fellow blogger who’s judgment I completely trust started talking about Daemon and his absolute hotness I had to give it a shot. I’m very glad I did!

Ever since I read and completely loved the prequel and the first book in Jennifer L. Armentrout's "Convenant" series, I just knew I had to read more by this author. That series is exciting and kickass and one of my favorite reads for 2011! As you can imagine, I desperately wanted to get my hands on Obsidian, which is the first book in JLA's newest series. I admit, though, I've always had the hardest time reading books on the computer. I get so distracted, my mind wanders, and I've only
