Everyone believes Tommy's best friend died in a terrible accident. Only Tommy knows that it wasn't an accident at all. He made a drunken mistake he can never take back. And now he's haunted, literally. It sounds nuts, and sometimes Tommy is not sure if he is nuts. It doesn't seem to matter too much until he meets Suki.

OMG!! Where do i start? So this is a free ebook on kindle. I got it as i thought it was a shifter book. But its not. This book had me hooked, not straight away but by chapter 2, i couldn't put it down.

It centers round Tommy & he is living rough, sleeping on the streets. when we first meet him he's getting locked up for being drunk & disorderly. It seems to me that this isn't the first time he's been in custody. It starts slowly but picks up the pace quickly. Mickey, is Tommy's good frie...more

I was lucky enough to get this book free for Kindle, and thus far, it's probably my favorite free thing Amazon has ever given me. Great mystery with a clever paranormal slant. Very strong characters, very well created. The protagonist isn't immediately likable, but he's nonetheless fascinating, dragging the reader into his panic of ghostly possessions he can't fight as the dead use his body to take care of their various unfinished business. I don't want to give away too much, but I won't hurt an...more

Good storyline, spoiled only by being badly written. I chose this book because it is free on Kindle and looked different to anything I normally read.

Without giving any spoilers, it's about the supernatural. The whole story however does not quite make sense - the main character can be possessed by ghosts and refuses to tell anyone because no one will believe him, yet the city he lives in accepts the use of mediums. There is even an example where the police converse with mediums. This lack of con...more

I'm having to review my personal policy on first person, first-tense reads - they used to irritate the daylights out of me.

When I realised this was in that format I thought I'd be switching to another book after a chapter. Instead, this story kept me up late and nearly made me miss my stop twice.

I've seen the lower rated reviews on this book; but have to say it's one of the best I've read in a while; for me the characters were rich, detailed and pretty entertaining.

Tommy is a man haunted by g...more

I feel like I need to review this book in 2 sections. The first 75% of the book was awesome. I loved it. I loved Crawford’s writing style, the characters were intriguing, and the entire idea was unique. I raved to everyone who wanted to talk books. There were no slow parts, no places that brought me out of the story.

And then I got to the last 25% of the eBook… what? It was like it was a completely different story. It turned into – he did this, and then he did that. I couldn’t believe it – it got...more

This was one of those books that twisted and wormed around in my mind when I wasn't actively reading it. The mechanics of Tommy's possession by ghosts was psychologically terrifying, yet at the same time riveting. Honestly, what if your body was commandeered and you were nothing more than a spectator while a spirit with nothing to lose (because they've already suffered the ultimate fate) toted you along for the ride while it carried out some agenda you have no access to and no control over? Geni...more

I fretted a bit over rating and reviewing this very interesting and original paranormal novel about a young man haunted by a secret, an addiction and real ghosts. Because half stars aren’t possible and there are a number of things I really liked about this enjoyable story, I upped my star rating to a 4.

As the story begins, Tommy, homeless and near broke, is being taken into the police station for what the cops believe was drunken behavior. It soon becomes evident that his conduct is not...more

The title of this book doesn't really give you any idea what it's about and the cover image, while creepy, is very 'cheap' feeling and made me wonder if the book was going to be poorly written (yes really judging a book by its cover) but it was a free download so I went for it anyway.

Without giving the game away too much, it's very different from your standard ghost novel which made it feel fresh and kept it interesting throughout. While I liked and felt sorry for the main character, I didn't pa...more

I have to say first this book started very slow in the beginning and kind of confusing, but as I read on it started to get interesting and finally I understood and liked it. Tommy a young man who can see ghost but also is possessed daily by them to finish there unfinished business. It comes to a climatic moment when he meets Suki and his whole world starts to make sense. Facing his demons and holding on to the love that completes him maybe too much for him to bare. I thought the story was good n...more

Wow. I read this book in 2 days. I hated to put it down. I could not wait to see what happened next. The fact that ghosts enter & use Tommy's body was cool & is stated right off, so that's not a give away to the story. If you like paranormal / supernatural type books that involve psychics & a little humor & sarcasm, this might be for you. Tommy's friend's death is when the ghosts started taking over Tommy's body to complete their owm unfinished business. The fact that this happen...more

was a bit difficult to follow at first, but once you get to know Tommy better as a character, the story becomes easier to follow. there were some questions that I felt were not resolved, so let's hope when I start the next book it picks up and continues to build on these areas. it was a very different concept in regards to the premise and plot of the story... not what i was expecting but I found myself wanting to know what would happen next.

Yes, overall this story had a reasonable plot and character development. However, although I like stories that include mystery and ghosts, I felt it needed a more in-depth feel to it. There was some good /great writing in parts and the trickle of humour was refreshing. To be fair, it could have been 'too modern' for me and yes, I liked it but I wanted more from it. Nevertheless, it is worth a look.

~ Well when I first started on this book, it sounded like some rambling. I was not so sure it was going to turn into anything that I was going to like.
However as I got farther into it, I found it was a good story.
Very compelling mystery with the haunting. I do not find a whole lot of books that I like that Ghosts are the mine part.
This was good though!!
This one I would say if you like paranormal/ Ghosts this one would be for you.

Happy Reading Everyone!

I really enjoyed the story in this book. Tommy, the main character, is quite the anti-hero, but I couldn't stop reading about him. I was a bit annoyed by the grammatical and typographical mistakes in this book, but I was able to ignore them and press on. I'd like to re-visit this character someday--maybe a sequel?

Wasn't sure I would make it through this one, but I'm a sucker for ghost stories. Tommy was a weak protagonist, but weak or not, I empathised with him and wanted him to succeed. I nearly stopped four chapters in. Glad I came back to it.

I liked this book alright. It was a very unusual story. Sometimes it seemed to drag on a little bit. I liked the characters and would have liked to know them a little more. Way to much use of the "F" bomb for me. Books don't need bad language to make them good books.
Megan
A really interesting story, can't help but feel sorry for Tommy, it wa a frustrating ending because you really want things to get better for him and although they do slightly, you know he will never be able to have a 'normal' life.

Super boek, origineel bedacht en nog gratis ook. Het greep me me niet meteen maar na het wat warrige begin is het echt de moeite waard!
Ik ga het vervolg ook zeker lezen...

This was a clever book,a good supernatural Drama (rather than thriller!) It made a change from the usual Vampire/Were fare.

The one bug bear was the constant "The ghost did this/ did that" exposition.

I enjoyed this book a lot! It's creepy with a soul. Great character development and the story won't let you go.

Interesting twisted and mysterious. It leaves you hanging a bit at the end - setting you up for book two.

One of my best reads of 2011. I loved it. The fact it was a free download I find surprising.

I have given up at 30% (sorry kindle speak) in this book because of what feels like pointless merry go round tales of the ghosts and the homeless man. No direction and reading of someone on a path to nowhere was too much by 30%. The sudden like of the character Suki seemed too abrupt and disjointed. Too many other books to read to justify dragging myself through this!! Would happily like someone to tell me why I should ensure any more.
Amanda
It was a little different, but good!
