Shannon was happily living in a closet.

I am really glad this book was short. Because the amount of times things were repeated was insulting.
At least 3 times...in one little section, it was stated that Ivy and Collin were going to a different portal.
Then you were told that Eric was different twice, right after you were told the first time. You didn't even make it to another chapter!
Then all of the encounters with the villain of this book...I mean really? It was rather ridiculous.

The editing cou...more

This series was going so well. The second "book" (130 pages? please.) ended on a cliff hanger & i dutifully downloaded this third one to find out what happens, only to be met with recap. Seriously? You don't stop in the middle of an intense, powerful scene then begin the next book with a recap and a "wow, that was a mistake, i shouldn't have done that." So already i was irritated, then i was hit with the made up word from the 1st 2 books that the author decided to spell differently in this b...more

honestly! there are only so many horrible aweful terrible things that can happen to a girl in 6 months before she kills herself regardless of an ancient prophecy that says she'll rule the underworld. i mean, the overall plot is good, if a little...too much. i enjoyed reading this book, don't get me wrong, i totally reccomend it. it took me a while to get into it. its lik, the bad things are in this heap of shit and it keeps getting thrown into the proverbial fan, piece by stinking piece. Ivy has...more

oh boy. So before I started Torn I reread my review of Cursed to remember what I thought of everything. Now that I've finished this one.. I've changed my mind about almost all the blurbs I wrote about the characters. I absolutely loved Eric and decided I was going to forgive him for all his valefar crimes before I even started this one. I changed my mind. He's one evil motherf-. Sneaky little demon boy needs his soul back.
And Collin! Are you kidding me? After the whole ' I'm willing to be torche...more

YAY!! Collin and Ivy are FINALLY together (by that I mean they found each other in Hell people, I mean that literally and figuratively.) "Collin's gaze intensified as he realized that I was still alive and in his arms. His fingers clasped the sides of my face, as he lowered his head and pressed his lips to mine, tasting me as if he couldn't believe I was really there." I was screaming YES!!!! ABOUT TIME! FINALLY! I'm telling you in this book I'm not sure if it's insecurities that are coming out...more

Writing reviews for the Demon Kissed series, I'm starting to feel like a broken record. How many times do I have to explain how amazing these books are? Like its predecessors, Torn is a thrilling read. Bursting with action, unexpected twists, and powerful characters, it kept me reading without stop until the end.

There were multiple occasions while reading Torn that I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Constantly, Ivy was fighting for her life against the evil...more

The Demon Kissed series is so far one of my favorite book series that I've read this summer; and it all started with my love for Collin and my sympathies for Ivy's plight. By the second book,Cursed, I realized that I had grown attached to the characters and would surely see this series through to the end. There was a good balance of romantic angst, suspense, and action. If I remember correctly I read the book in a day. Yep, it was that good. Now, after reading the third book, I still love it, bu...more

Negatives:
1) I am still a Demon Kissed fan, but the last two books, Cursed and Torn, haven’t been up to par with the first novel in this series, Demon Kissed. Now that we are three books into this series, I feel like there should be a lot more progress with Ivy’s characters. I want to read about a strong, positive heroine, but Ivy is still the same whiny and impossible girl. I understood and forgave Ivy for her be...more

We have gone from Good, to Better and now back to Good. This book was a repetition of everything that has happened. Ivy wanted to stop this whole Prophecy from coming true so she decides to stab herself in the heart with the Guardians tooth - the only thing that will kill her. But, unfortunately, Collin stopped her right in time and instead of stabbing herself, she just scratched a gash into her chest. It is still deadly. An angel saves her and crystalizes the poison in her chest but now she has...more

Man oh man was that dramatic.....After making the only decision she thought might end the prophecy, Ivy realizes she only made it worse. New characters and circumstances are introduced in this one that might be game changers. Loved how this story touched more on the Good vs. Evil battle and my heart was ripped out when Ivy is betrayed by someone she trusts. Why do I have to wait so long for the next one? TORTURE...

Holy toledo! TORN grabs you from the first sentence and won't let you go! Not even after you finish the book! Ward did an amazing job of sending me on an emotional roller coaster with Ivy and everything that happened! There were "awe" moments as well as "wth" moments and everything that comes in the middle of those. This is a major plot twister in the series and I'm DESPERATE to know what happens in the next book!

Okay so I enjoy the story itself but the writing style is throwing me for a loop. I find myself literally skimming a good quarter of the book because I feel the description repeats itself and is just too much. I want to see how the story ends but I will not be reading this series again.
Tia
I feel like more happened in book one than in book two and three combined. I found myself skimming huge chunks of the books because I just wanted to get to the end, which is really disappointing because I loved the first book. Can't say whether or not I'll read the next one.

I'm in love with these series, thank god Ive read it after all the books were out because after I finished the last book, I couldn't wait till what happened next.Yu can tell there's a love triangle forming, ahah I'm so depressed ! Loved the book though !!
Veronica Pearson
Argh why did it have to end so soon. I want the next one right now. January can not come soon enough. I really enjoy this series, it gets better with each book. I just wish that they were longer because they always seem to end too soon.

2.5 stars -- WHY?? Why did I finish you? Why am I reading the next one? It feels like we're told everything -- how Ivy feels, what happened in the interim, what conclusions to draw.... That's just not as much fun you know? It's harder to believe it when you're just told instead of shown. I think that's why I had such a problem with her relationships. We were told she and Shannon were best friends, but nothing we were shown made sense in that conclusion. So yeah, this book brought more confusion...more

Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! This series is fantastic. The things that happen to poor Ivy are gut-wrenching. I feel so bad for her. The way this book ends is unbelieveable. I can not wait for the next book. Everybody better watch out. Ivy is tough and loyal. Such a great character.
Tia
It's so sad that everyone has been turning on Ivy. I really wished just one man or boy would stand beside her and help her lead the Prophecy to where ever it needs to go.
Lindsay
I liked it. Didn't love it. Was irritated at Ivy most of the book and felt there wasn't much addition to the plot, I was just reading to get to the end. Like this cover a lot more than the last and looking forward to the next installment.
Susan Commeford
I am so loving this story! Can't put it down...not getting anything done while engrossed in the unfolding tale...do yourself a favor and get involved in Ivy's adventure.
Ivy
the next book isn't out until next year.....don't know how long I can hold out. Love the book and the series, Ivy is awesome and the name is hot if I say so myself.

In the second book I was wondering if Ivy's situation could get more complicated and you know what? YES! The end left you wanting the next book very badly.

“You know, there are two types of people-ones who live their lives, and ones whose lives live them. You need to be the former, not the latter. And right now, you are letting your life live you. It's crushing you and completely out of control. You can't just let life happen, not if you want some say in what happens to you.” 14 people liked it
