It actually shocked me that I haven't really reviewed any book from my favorite author. Yes, Sidney Sheldon is my favorite author. Heard that right. Quite surprising for a 14 year old who's fond of reading Young Adult fiction, eh?

This book was actually gripping. Everytime I let go of it, it makes me wanna cradle it in my arms and murmur, "I'm sorry for putting you down. Let me continue reading you." So this story was mainly about a female doctor who had a patient who seemingly hates her. And thi
“You have two choices. you can keep running and hiding and blaming the world for your problems, or you can stand up for yourself and decide to be somebody important.” —Sidney Sheldon, Nothing Lasts Forever

Once again, I owe my life to Sidney Sheldon (over-reacting mode).
I can’t find enough words to say because it would be too repetitive. I have read twelve (12) of his outstanding novels and this is by far, his BEST! I cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s too breathtaking! I cried when I finish

Sidney Sheldon is a first time read for me and I have to ask myself why I had never picked up one of his books before now. I think that he is a brilliant writer and I am glad that I finally had the opportunity to pick up one of his books. I was totally engrossed in the story and really hated for it to end.

In this book we have the stories of 3 different female doctors working in the same hospital. Dr. Paige Taylor, who is on trial for the murder of a patient that she testifies was a euthanasia, D
If I had to choose one of his books to call my utmost favorite I would have to say this one.

Again and again he did. He delivered a fast paced keep you on the tip of your toes turning the pages as fast as you can story.

Every single one of the lady doctors in this story captured me and held me in prison locked up in their strengths, heartaches, and abilities.
This story was like no other that he wrote before.

With every page you turned there was so much more going on. The drama, the affairs, the l

I've always loved a good suspense and mystery. After all, I grew up reading Sherlock Holmes rather than reading Princess stories.

All through out my high school year, I read all of Sidney Sheldon's books starting with Tell Me Your Dreams. I was hooked after the first page. No kidding. Sheldon can do that to you.

Nothing Lasts Forever is one of my favorite books. I still remember my struggle with this one. A classmate has a copy of this beauty and I know she doesn't read novels much alone our text

Three female doctors begin five years in training at Embarcadero County Hospital in San Francisco. The story, set against hospital and courtroom, chronicles their lives together and their struggle against those who are determined to see that they don't succeed.

Dr. Paige Taylor - After she inherited a million dollars from a patient whom she 'helped to die' at their request, the District Attorney charged her with murder.

Dr. Kat Hunter - She vowed never to allow a man to get too close to her again.

This was my first Sidney Sheldon novel and I am pleased to admit that despite my lofty expectations, I was not disappointed. In fact "Nothing Lasts Forever" is a fast paced, thrilling and riveting novel. I found it simply unputdownable and seriously can’t remember the last time I finished a 400 page book in a matter of two days. The way Sidney Sheldon builds suspense, from the very first page which opens right in the middle of a court hearing, where a certain Dr. Paige Taylor is being tried for ...more

The book is fast paced alright but Sheldon didnt fail to let me see whats really going on inside an operating room and how women are treated when they step inside a man's dominated profession (which I dont know if still the same case on today's era). The typical Sheldon finale surely blowed my mind because it was the 'she's-screwed-and-hopeless' scene but again he casted his own magic. Im not trying to be smartsy pantsy on this review but Sheldon did a great job and after reading this novel I ca ...more

Oh, Lord, I am DONE with this! I don't think I can give it any stars....can't say I liked but can't say I didn't like it either, because it sure was entertaining! If I hadn't had to work, this book would have been finished within 24 hours.

Like I told Bob, I should have left Sheldon in my pre-adolescent childhood, because I never realized just how overly dramatic and "soap opera-ly" he is. The dialogue is horrible and superficial. There is no depth to the story at all. We won't eve

I absolutely love this book. I know for a fact that Sheldon writes a very tragic ending in some of his novels I read, so much that I was not prepared for the surreal, for the "all's well ends well" feeling I felt after.

Paige Taylor, Kat Turner and Honey Taft were doctors by profession, and the friendship spurted amidst their different personas and the kind of friendship they have is more closely to sisterhood. Each of them may have their own struggles in life, battles yet to endure and problems
I've never read any Sidney Sheldon before, but he does a wonderful job of drawing the plot along. Most mysteries are pretty straight forward -- sure there are plot twists, and the mystery may be hard to guess, but the way the story itself is written is pretty straight forward. In this book the author actually switches it up a bit, starting the story with a scene from the court case which leaves you with one possible interpretation of the facts, and you spend the rest of the novel learning whethe ...more

Well, all thanks to this novel for it added all the necessary ingredients to make my trip back home an awesome one and yep thanks to my dear friend too who suggested it to me. It was my first novel of Sidney Sheldon and ye i loved the story telling and i am already on my way for his second novel "If Tomorrow Comes" and i am sure i would love this one too.

The story has many things in it, ranging from male dominance to how bad someone's greed can be, to how hard a doctor's life is. Starting with

Nothing Lasts Forever - Such a wonderful work by Sidney Sheldon..

No surprise that this book is awesome! Sidney Sheldon's work never disappointed me. Such an interesting story about three doctors Dr. Paige, Dr. Hunter, Dr. Taft...

The way he described these three doctors and their stories are mind blowing! As usual, I couldn't put this book down without reaching the last page.. The attitude that these doctors are described with - Incredible. The way Dr. Paige freed from court trail as not guilty i

Nothing last forever. Literally nothing.
Sidney Shelton _/\_ This guy has got something magical about the ink with which he writes his books ! I'm still wondering the way he wrote this novel, with all those confusing-latin medical terms :O
Controversial Euthanasia(mercy killing) drives the plot here. So-Beautiful Dr.Paige Taylor is behind the bars for killing her patient John Cronin under his plea for Euthanasia. He leaves a will for one million dollars to Paige and that turns the scene against Pa

Typical Sidney Sheldon. Always writing about a heroine in his stories.
However, it's the reason why I loved reading his novels.

Nothing lasts forever is a medical thriller revolving around 3 women, all of whom were capable and dedicated to their professions in a male dominated field. The 3 women faces problems and dilemmas in their own personal lives before they embark on the medical profession as a doctor. Each of them must learn to embrace themselves and learn about the true meaning of saving li
Women empowerment in the highest level! I love how the three main characters lived their life! It's so amazing how they faced the challenges throughout the journey. And I love the story of how they fell in love and how love failed some of them. It's a gripping tale of friendship, ambitions and romance. This is one of my favorite books.

Read this nook while my sone was in the hospital. Ironic that it is about doctors and hospitals. Sidney sheldon is a very easy read, always. Something that just flows and it is over before you realize it. This book was written in 1977 and is still as good as ever. I read it back then as well but didn't truly remember all of it.

I think that nothing lasts forever is a splendid book. it was really a 'hard to put down book'. it took me only three days to finish it. Sidney Sheldon really is an amazing author. My second book of his was rage of angels which was also really good and I thought nothing could beat it but when I read nothing lasts forever I think of the greatest book he ever wrote and how gripping it might be. I couldn't believe how mean and selfish Alfred was. I think a lot of people's favourite doctor might hav ...more

This book is about three young medical intern girls who were working in a county hospital in San Fransisco. One of them almost closed the hospital down, one murders a patient and inherits the one million dollars and one got herself murdered. In between this the author has demonstrated the then mental make up of American people that how hard it was for people to "not accept" female doctors and always to treat females as an object of sexual desires.

The book started little slow but picked up pace g

It's a cat and a mouse game for three young doctors at a San Francisco Hospital. When all of them get together and join as internees there are different perspectives of future that lay ahead for them. So whether they will be able to live up to the reality or not that's the big question? Or will they succumb in style? That's what the story is all about.

The story is set at a furious pace and an uncanny setup of a hospital adds to the curiosity. The book portrays three lives and through their eyes
I am familiar with Sheldon's name, but this was the first time I'd seen a medical-themed book of his. It appears to be the only medical book he has written, and if I was to guess what type of fiction he normally writes, I would say either legal or romance, more likely the latter, because the legal portion of this book wasn't terribly strong.
There was a lot going on in the plot. Paige, Honey, and Kat are the only 3 female residents in their class at Embarcadero Community Hospital in San Francisco

'Nothing Lasts Forever' was my first Sidney Sheldon. My Mom,who is herself an avid reader, was always talking about how in 6th Grade she had read almost all her books. Sidney Sheldon had always had a sense of mystery for me. So most of the credit goes to Mom who had made the author so mysterious for me that I couldn't resist but pick up the book from my School Library.

I guess the plot and the characters were okay, nothing very new for me. I came to know that Sidney Sheldon's stories mostly revo
It is a great crime novel clinging to your eyes until you finish it. I started on the day just before my English exams in 12th. Well my exam didn't stop me from reading this book. Whole night i was eager to finish it in the first place.

Well, about the book, it is a marvelous book in the crime fiction. the best part that i loved in this book is that finally when paige taylor is brought to the court of law, the person she had thought to loathed her most, comes to her rescue.

A fine compose of love,

Wow! Such a page turner. Kept me up late, got me up early for a few minutes here and there...need to read more Sidney Sheldon
This is just my second Sidney Sheldon book after 'Bloodline' and I'm in absolute awe and love with his writing. The story is amazing. Sheldon has been thorough with the study part. In this book you get a peek into the life of doctors. The story revolves around three women doctors. Their struggle surviving in the times when women in the field of medicine were only nurses, their handling of the male dominated workplace and male attention at the Embarcadero County Hospital is inspirational and thei ...more
