I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I read it right after "A Night in Horrorland" which in my opinion, as the kids say was "epic" (I did say in my opinion) For some reason Jerry acted more like the little sister in the story to me. At times I would even forget he was a guy! Just seemed really wimpy, scared, refused to be brave etc. His little sister was really brave and smarter. I wish RL could have made Jerry a little more boyish. Maybe I haven't read many books in male first person or...more
Jack
Today Jack is reviewing a book in the Goosebumps series called Ghost Beach. He seemed to really enjoy this book, and actually read it twice. That has to be high praise when you’re 6 and have next to zero attention span.

(Should I tell you that Jack is pooping while we conduct this interview? Sure, why not. It’s the only way he’ll sit still for a minute so I can ask him some questions. And I think the visual helps.)

me: So what did you think of this book?

Jack: It was pretty good, and it was cool, t...more

Stine, R.L. Goosebumps: Ghost Beach. New York: Scholastic, 1994.
Genre - Fiction, horror
This book is about a brother and sister who are visiting an old relative at a beach for the last month of summer. The book starts out with a dream that Jerry, the older brother, had a few months before hand. A dream about a cemetery on a beach with arms popping out from every direction grabbing at their ankles. This dream obviously foreshadows the entire book. Where the brother and sister are tricked into bel...more

The book was really good and exciting. I liked how there were always surprises around every corner. By the end I liked both Terri and Jerry the same because they were both very brave and worked good together to stop the ghost in the cave, overall the book was good and every page was fun not counting the pats before or after the story.

The book "Ghost Beach" is based on 5 kids (Terri, Jerry, Sam, Nat, and Louisa) going on a Adventure kinda sorta, trying to figure out how to get a ghost thats been haunting the town since 1649. Earlier in the story, Jerry and Terri are doing grave rubbings, when they come across 3 grave stones that say the names of there 3 friends, Nat, Sam, and Louisa. They run to there Grandparents, Brad and Agatha, revealing there information and observations. Agatha says that there named after there ancestor...more

Out of the few Goosebumps novels, this should be my favoriate. Well I can't really decide between this one, the "ghost camp" and the "ghost next door" , but this is the first Goosebump I finished reading, and the first one always gives you the most feels.

I still remember how the setting of the book send a chill down my spine as a young kid, how the rising actions at then end of the book almost made me forget to breath as I eagered to reach the ending, and especially how the unexpected twist at...more

I'm finished with this book, it was really good. it's about a boy named Jerry and his sister Terri who is living with their aunt and uncle for a few weeks. They lived near a beach with a graveyard really near it, also Jerry can't wait to go inside the dark and spooky cave they found on the beach. But then relatives of theirs told stories of a ghost who haunts the cave, a ghost who's 300 years old. Jerry knows it's just a joke, but then he started to see flickering lights in the cave at night.The...more

Days after they found out and they helped the man push the ghost into the cave. MY qestion right now is what happen to the man and the two ghost? Another piece of awesome from RL Stine. Even for a middle grade book, he really doesn't pull any punches.

Sure there are some cheesy moments. Some kooky senses of humor being thrown about. A lot of spooky moments that turn out to be something not so spooky after all. But it all comes back around in the end, leaving everything hanging, including Jerry and his sister!

Stine's got the MG voice down pat. He doesn't dumb it down for the reader and he doesn't skimp on the spook. He targets an age that h...more

a ghost story with a very surprising ending. It is about two kids who spend their holiday with their cousins who live in front of a beach. There, there was a cave beside the beach and everyone feared it. They also new 3 knew friends who are from their family. These two kids really wanted to solve the mystery of the cave and they eventually solved it but at the cost of what?

I was hooked on these series as a kid. I remember when this first book came out and all the hype surrounding it, and quickly joined in on scarfing these things down. They were fun at the time, although even in grade school they had me rolling my eyes at some of the goofiness (and the cliffhanger chapter endings! Every chapter, without fail!).

I am utterly, completely shocked at this story. I went into these books thinking that they were all going to be corny and with happy endings. This was definitively not a happy ending. Yes it was corny, and yes it was a little goofy, but it did get me a little bit closer to that Halloween feel that I've been missing!

Jerry can't wait to explore the dark, spooky old cave he found by down by the beach. Then the other kids tell him a story. A story about a ghost that is 300 years old. A ghost who comes out when the moon is full. A ghost.....who lives deep inside the cave!
Jerry knows it's just another silly made-up story.
ISN'T IT?

This book showed many "Threats to the Self". The brother and the sister go exploring to the cemetery near the beach. This shows the readers that they have the fear of the unknown, a fear of being captured and the fear of being caught by the ghosts.
i would recommend it to younger veiwers as it is easy to read

This is a good, good, good book!
It was actually the first full length book I read on my own.
I loved it!
Plus, it was the first book I read twice :)
I liked the suspense, the chills it gave me, and the creepiness I got out of it.
It was very entertaining :D

Ghost Beach is about two kids going the beach to see their aunt and uncle and relatives. They go to the cave they see a skull then something move in the skull they think is a ghost. The kids find out their relatives is the ghost.

It would’ve been a 2, but I liked the second twist, which I actually didn’t see coming. And the protagonists weren’t unlikeable, and there were no worms in sight, so really, it’s a vast improvement over what came before it.
Alex Williams
i liked this book because it is like a mystery of who they are and how do they gt away from the ghost that are haunting them then it turns out to be there grandparents! So they are on the run hoping not to die.

It didn't make me want to run out and read every other book in the series, but at least now I have finally read a Goosebumps. Better writing than I was expecting and lots of twists along the way and at the end.

One of the BEST horror books I've ever read, and I think the last one. I've read plenty of other R.L. Stine books but this is by far my favorite. (I hope he makes a sequel!!!)

The only part of this one that was predictable was the very ending. I saw it coming, but otherwise, a lot of this I didn't see coming. 4 stars.
