"Beware, the Snowman" was full of terrible suspense and awful writing. Each chapter ended with a cliffhanger that turned out to be no more than a scary shadow or a creaky branch, not to mention the horrible topic.

I was a little bored before bed, so I picked up this book for a little scare. I didn't know how "little" that scare would be.

Jaclyn DeForest tries to find out what the creepy nightly howling noises are in her new village of Sherpia. The townsfolk are all terrified of the "snowman" who l...more

This book made me realize how much more fun Goosebumps TV show would have been had it been a cartoon (or as their calling it now: animated series")instead of real actors. The book had more twists than an old pretzel. It was fun. Living in a snowy state during winter, I can relate to all the snow. Everything is connected. In other books I've said to skip the first few chapters as their pretty much meaningless, but for this one every chapter is important in telling the story. We have a girl who mo...more

I love Goosbumps! I remember reading these as a kid and I enjoyed reading this just as much as an adult. I recommend this book for an advanced reader. There are no illustrations and this is a chapter book. This book really had me on the edge of my seat. A little girl moves to a town where there's hardly any people, but in every yard there are these identical snowmen. Her mother taught her a poem before she died to beware of the snowman. Refusing to take heed of everyones warnings, she makes her...more

This book was really interesting in the beginning. Everyone but Jaclyn acted so scared and mysterious when it came to the snowman. The suspense made me keep reading, and really kept my attention. I could not wait to figure out what was the deal with that weird snowman! Towards the end though... everything happened so fast. You discover a lot of things in a matter of paragraphs. And since the end of the book is pretty action packed, everything seems to happen so fast that I felt that I really did...more

Another good goosebumps book.

Basically, a girl named Jaclyn and her brother move to an isolated mountain town called Sherpia, and soon are told that an evil snowman lives at the top of the mountain. Overcome with curiosity, Jaclyn ventures up the mountain to see if the townspeople's suspicions are true.

I love all the Goosebumps books, but I'll be honest, this wasn't one of Stine's best. I wasn't too frightened or thrilled about the plot. If you get scared easily and are looking for an only slightly thrilling read, this is...more

Goosebumps, Beware, The Snowman, written by R. L. Stine, is yet another thrilling, bone chilling adventure in R.L. Stines’s collection. This book follows Jaclyn as she tries to find out what all the strange noices in the middle of the night are. Each and every house in this new town has a snowman in the front yard, and each of the snomen has a horrible, evil smile. As always R. L. Stine captivates and scares his readers, this book is no different. Appropriate for children ages 9 to 12

I kind of liked this book. It about a girl who moved to a new village. But their are weird snowmans all over the place, the identical snowmans. She found two best friends. But when she tried to go to the mountain top her friends got freaked out. They didn't let her go they said that it's treacherous. Read the book to find out what's larking in the mountaintop and what's the mystery! I read that book in one day. Doesn't take that long to read it.

I recently read the book Goosebumps: Beware the Snowman by R.L. Stine. I thought this book was very good because it kept me guessing and it was very suspenseful. It kept me guessing because when Jacklyn told her friends Rolonda and Jack that she was going to go up the mountain they told her not to do it . They begged her not to go and she asked why but they wouldn't tell her. It's suspenseful because when she decides to climb the mountain and finds the snowman I wasn't sure what would happen. I...more

With a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter, this supernatural tale of a girl sent to live in the Arctic Circle, is like a caricature of a Goosebumps book. I'm afraid I had to force myself to finish it, and I sort of wish I hadn't bothered.

It was a bit obvious where this was going at the end, but one of the more enjoyable Goosebumps books as it has a different setting than everday USA
