Even the simplest of touches between Will Frost and Lauren McLean are forbidden.

To share love will surely mean death.

Since her granddad’s passing, Lauren has existed a few steps out of sync with the world. Desperate to feel the love only he offered her as a child, Lauren returns to the haven they once shared — a snow-covered cabin at the foothills of the Rockies.

Touch of Frost was an excellent story about the tragedies and possibilities of forbidden love. It takes place in the snow covered rockies. Jocelyn Adams describes the scenery in a way that transports you there. You can easily envision every beautiful detail!

We begin the story with the main character, Lauren, reminiscing about her Grandfather. This is the first time She's been to the cabin that they shared since he passed away. She is sad and missing him terribly. He had been the male influence i...more

The story starts with Lauren at her late grandfather's cabin. After hitting a funk in life, she's escaped to her childhood retreat, and is out hiking when a snowstorm blows up. Next thing she knows, she wakes up in a stranger's bed, only that the stranger, a hunky mountain man named Will Frost, seems very familiar somehow. And Lauren is determined to find out why he stirs such feelings within her, even if it means putting her life in danger.

I like Will Frost's character. In fact, I adore him. A...more

This was a wonderful story. Connecting with Lauren was easy; she was very likable. The author has a way of bringing you into the story to where you are experiencing everything as Lauren does. You mourned. You felt the relaxing calm of nature. You froze. And you fell in love. Will was an amazing character. I loved the mystery of him. He was such an intriguing character and his rescuing a lynx cub and raising her endeared him to me immediately.

There were a few things that I thought that could have...more

My synopsis for TOUCH OF FROST by Jocelyn Adams:
Lauren McLean has never quite recovered from her grandfather’s passing. Tired of the numb world she has cocooned herself into, Lauren ventures back to her grandfather’s cabin looking for a spark of her former self, of something good and warm. Quickly, she is engulfed by a frozen lake and wakes in the arms of the man of her dreams. Or is he the man from her dreams? Their attraction is undeniable, yet Will Frost has a secret that may kill them both...more

I'm not sure if I read the same book as the other reviews did, but I certainly wouldn't give it 5 stars. It was a cute story, but quite unimaginative. The characters lacked definition and were quite one-dimensional. Actually, the Grandfather character was the most fleshed-out person there. For instance, if it wasn't for the main character explicitly stating that Jenna is her best friend I would not have guessed that from what was given in the story.

I've read a lot of PNR, and I'm used to charac...more

Quick read. It's pretty good. What is Willem Frost? It's a lot better than what I expect or imagine. I thought he's a wolf or Ice Beast or something. This reminds me of the books I've read here in the Philippines. I mean published here. It's like a pocketbook with only less than 100 pages. So it didn't take me a lot of time to read Touch of Frost.

I could say that this could be a good series if decided to make it as a trilogy. But given the ending, I'm happy at how it ends. Mixed feeling about wh...more

Totally different to Jocelyn Adams' The Glass Man, Touch of Frost doesn't drag the reader straight into action but into a streamful of emotions from the mc, Lauren. She's still reeling over the loss of her grandfather, who just happened to be the most important man in her life. For the first time since his death, she drags herself to his cabin (beautiful scenery with luscious-loads of snow). However, she's also supposed to have taken her boyfriend with her for a double-date kind of weekend with...more

I fell in love with Jocelyn Adams' work when I read The Glass Man, her debut novel released in October 2011. I have to say I was excited to know a novella would be coming out, even though the characters and story have nothing to do with The Glass Man. In that case, I wondered: could she suck me in? Would it be a race against time? Would I love the main character and hate the bad guy as much?

The answers were all 'yes' but in very different ways.

You see, in Touch of Frost, Jocelyn pens a complete...more

I loved the premise, but had a hard time connecting with the characters. I felt that they were too inconsistent at the beginning of the novella. The ending was a bit too tidy, but I believe that Lauren and Will will have a HEA.

So good, I read it twice in 2 days!

With so many great books on my “to read” list, very rarely do I read a book twice. Jocelyn Adams’ Touch of Frost was one of those rare occasions.

I read Touch of Frost in one sitting and went to bed with images of Willem in my head. The story kept going through my head and actually kept me up thinking about it. I knew Will was a supernatural but was surprised at the “big reveal”. I ended up going back and reading it again with my new knowledge. Sure enough, all...more

I enjoyed the characters and story and I was making predictions about what would happen and what other secrets would be revealed when the book was suddenly over! My only complaint is that this book felt like an introduction and I'm looking forward to more!

I was one of the lucky few who managed to get on Ms. Adams' beta reader list, so got a look at this one before it released to the masses. As usual, I am in awe of Jocelyn's ability to weave a compelling and romantic tale.

I would highly recommend this novella to anyone who loves a good romantic read. If you have a zen for fairy tales, then this one is a can't miss.

What a great book to curl up on the couch with!! A bit too short IMO -- I never want a good story to end, but it satisfies like The Glass Man, Ms. Adam's debut novel. She has an unbelievable ability to weave words and create vivid images in one's mind, thoroughly engaging a reader's senses.
