First published in Great Britain, I use Numbers to support early reading/writing skills with my preschool students. The simple and clear text make it easy for children to feel like successful readers and the book is an easy reference for early writers who need a model to copy when writing common words. (I also enjoy the retro-style, graphic work of Irish contemporary designer turned author Orla Kiely.)
The companion to Kiely's Numbers book. Another artisitc look at everyday items, this time counting numbers 1-10. My favorites are 5 cups (I like that they are stacked) and 8 pears (the layout is visually appealing appearing in rows acorss the page but grouped diagonally).

Each two page spread shows the number on one page with the word appearing below the numer and the facing page shows the quantity of an item with a word labeling the item.

Again, love the cover.
Very sweet.
Love the typography of the numbers in the book too.
The illustrations are cute, but a bit stylized.
I think I would have liked it better if the pictures were related to each other.
But, they do match up with most of the pictures in the colors book.
Coffee table book for yummy mummies.

Read & reviewed for the bookbag:
This and "Colors" by the same author are beautifully simple concept books...parents into fashion/design will appreciate them too.
I want to use it for toddlers but it's more suited for preschool.
Pretty and gets the job done.
