If you think it sounds at least vaguely interesting, I highly recommend reading it. Even if you're not going to be making any charts or graphs, there's a lot of useful information on how to think critically about data. I'm never going to look at charts the same way again.

this book really helps whether you're a designer like me, or even if you're just a normal reader. It shows many different kinds of data charts/graphs, tells you how to craft a perfect infographic, and helps you to discover some of the tricks that may be used to play with the data (& of course to avoid doing them if you're the designer).
In some parts of the book, it gets a bit technical but it's mainly to help you understand how each chart works.
