Here, I have to confess that I am an absolute sucker for entrepreneurial chick lit. So I'm biased.

You might think that the whole series qualities, which I suppose is true, considering that it centers around the businesses of the two original protagonists, and everyone else's businesses as well. But what I'm REALLY a huge, huge sucker for, is chick lit books in which the protagonist's business struggles are a central part of the plot. You might think that the whole series qualities, which I suppose is true, considering that it centers around the businesses of the two original protagonists, and everyone else's businesses as well. But what I'm REALLY a huge, huge sucker for, is chick lit books in which the protagonist's business struggles are a central part of the plot. Emma Rae never struggles; everybody loves everything she touches. But Audrey Regan is not so lucky, which makes her journey much more identifiable and satisfying for me!

This book was hilarious, well-paced, and good fun. I'm also fascinated to report that Bricker continues what she began in the first book: "Christian fiction" that is actually just about normal people who happen to be Christian. The clinching example for me was in this book; this is really only a minor spiler. (view spoiler)

I just really enjoyed this book. It was full of interesting plot twists and subplots. The stakes were high enough for a lot of different people that I was anxious to see where it was going and, even when I could predict where it was going, anxious to see it get there. I felt like the stakes were absent in the second book for the most part, but she outdid herself here!

The one flaw was the lack of dialogue for Fee's guy. Again, this seemed weird both because literally every other member of the various couples that make up this series, even the minor characters like Anton or Gavin, has a major role in some way and some kind of interesting ongoing narrative - however small it may be. Fee's guy has no lines, and I'm not positive I remember his name. Sean? Is it Sean? And wait, isn't he the only person of color in this book? No, I tell a lie, there are TWO Latino men, both of whom have great roles and lines. Which still reflects the state of race in America: predominantly white representation in entertainment, a growing sort of comfort with Latino characters, the occasional maybe Southeast Asian who is usually a doctor or a fool (looking at you, Boost Mobile commercials), and we just don't know what to do with black people or have anything for the rest of Asia.

I'll even give her the rest of Asia; I don't know how big the Asian community is in the South. But I DO know there are black people there, and it's weird that there's only one in these books and he doesn't have any lines even at major events in his own life.

It wouldn't seem so weird if (view spoiler) Is it supposed to be a palate-cleanser after all the enormous splashy weddings? I don't even know.

All righty, having complained about that for like forty paragraphs, I will try to reassure you that this book really is great fun and well worth reading. For all that I have been enjoying the books I've read lately, I don't seem to have even one out of the last four that didn't have some enormous flaw in my eyes. Consider the latent racism to be a... realistic touch of the South... and it'll be... um... Well, just skip those pages. THERE AREN'T VERY MANY OF THEM!

Audrey is in Atlanta for her best friends wedding not only to be her Maid of Honor, but as the designer of her wedding dress. Of course, there is no one else that would make her dress. A nice twist to the story is the bride, Carly who is marrying Devon, who is a part of the armed forces and about to ship off again for another tour of duty. (Hmmm...I wonder if this is the next story, although not sure how that would work for this wedding related series.)

Devon's brother, J.R. has arrived into town on his Harley. Here for just the wedding, but he not about to stay very long because he's a wanderer and loner so to speak; concentrating on growing his bike restoration business. Similar to Audrey in the sense that she is trying to build her business, but running out of ideas. I think that is why there is such a connection between the two of them. I really like the fact that they are slowly learning to trust themselves and don't just jump into any kind of relationship, with anybody.

All the previous characters are involved in this book. In fact, they are becoming very involved with each others lives. A few funny moments are also included as with the first two stories. Sandra has done an excellent job in character development. The reader really gets to understand how important each person is to the others in all of the stories. As such, I would be hard pressed to say that it would be okay to read this without reading the other two books of the series first, which I think Ms. Bricker would appreciate! While all of the main characters in these books have a creative aspect to them, this one speaks to me the most as I am a designer, in other genres mind you, but a designer nonetheless.(less)

I know after you've read a couple of the books in the series by Sandra D. Bricker, Never The Bride, you would think there would would be no more surprises and it would get old. No such thing! I love this series! Mrs. Bricker brings the characters to life and makes you fall in love with them. They all became part of my "family". I was rooting for them and cheering them on, crying and laughing with them.

Audrey is all grown-up now with a company of her own; she designs the most beautiful gowns in the world. Unfortunately, her business isn’t going anywhere. She invested her entire inheritance from her grandmother into her own line, and she is barely staying afloat. In fact, if she doesn’t land the contract for this latest wedding gown, she pretty much has to lay off her assistant and close the doors for good.

What she’s doing is heading down to Georgia to help Carly, who is about to walk down the aisle. Audrey designed the perfect wedding dress, and she pretty much figures that this will be her last vacation. After all, with this financial splurge, Audrey will then officially be out of money and heading to the unemployment office.

Who she doesn’t expect to meet up with however, is a man by the name of J.R. Hunt who is the groom’s older brother and best man.

J.R. is a man who looks the Easy Rider come back to life. More than anything, he needs a shower, haircut and a shave. Riding into the Inn on his Harley, J.R. is there to support Devon, his younger and completely different brother who is, first and foremost, a dedicated Marine. Of course, when J.R. raises his gaze from his brother and is introduced to Audrey, he almost falls off his chair. Here is the ultimate platinum-blonde pin-up girl with all the right curves, and BRAINS, too! Let’s just say that J.R.’s Harley is not the only thing revving up when this relationship begins.

As always, add in a few minor mistakes, upsets, and friendships galore, and you once again have a light-hearted book filled with laughter and a whole lot of fun! Enjoy!

I read this one first and I didn't even realize it was a series until I marked it as currently reading in Goodreads. It reminded me of Nora Roberts series but I liked this one better. The Roberts wedding series has good writing but it's plot is predictable. The characters are a little more eccentric and it has a bit more flavor. I also liked that it was a Christian series without shoving God in your face.

I liked the book. I like returning to the city and characters that I met in the first two books of the series. This was not my favorite of the three. So far, I really like the second book (Always the Wedding Planner...) best. This book may be one of the most pleasant surprises I have read in awhile. Once I picked it up I was so drawn into the characters that I couldn't put it down. I have to tell you I'm really enjoying this series. Each character just leaps off the page. One of my favorite aspects of the series is the familial bond these friends develop and welcome other into. This is part of a serier od books by Sandra but you most definately do not need to read them in order. Each stands alone but does bring the other couples from her other books into the story.
