Here, I have to confess that I am an absolute sucker for entrepreneurial chick lit. So I'm biased.
You might think that the whole series qualities, which I suppose is true, considering that it centers around the businesses of the two original protagonists, and everyone else's businesses as well. But what I'm REALLY a huge, huge sucker for, is chick lit books in which the protagonist's business struggles are a central part of the plot. "Always the Designer, Never the Bride" by Sandra D. Bricker concentrates on Audrey Regan, up and coming wedding dress designer who is riding into Atlanta on fumes, because she is on the last legs of her business. Her big break is about to hit the skids and she's going to have to layoff her assistant Kat unless something happens and quick.

As a fan of the previous two books , when I learnt that Book #3 was being released I knew I just had to read it and I would enjoy it. In Book #3 Carly is getting married to Devon at the Tanglewood Inn where Emma will be baking the Cake and Sherrilyn is the Wedding Planner so all that is missing now is the Wedding Dress Designer - Enter in Carly's best childhood friend Audrey. The pair's friendship is the same as we discovered between Sherrilyn and Emma in Book #2. Audrey, ready to make her frien...more
I know after you've read a couple of the books in the series by Sandra D. Bricker, Never The Bride, you would think there would would be no more surprises and it would get old. No such thing! I really enjoyed this series and each time I found another in the kindle version and got it I really enjoyed it. This one starts with Audrey making wedding dresses for all of her girl friends Barbie dolls. She has her Grandmother helping her design and decorate them and then she is off and running! She ends...more
Two years and three months ago, Audrey Regan left Atlanta for New York, hoping to make a name for herself as a wedding dress designer, but Audrey is in desperate need of a career break to keep her dream alive. I love this series! Mrs. Bricker brings the characters to life and makes you fall in love with them. They all became part of my "family". I was rooting for them and cheering them on, crying and laughing with them.
I had a bad headache when I started this book, so I didn't expect to read much into it before falling asleep, after taking my medicine. However, I was sucked in and kept telling myself "One more chapter...I can do one more chapter." Before I knew it, I glanced down & it said I was...more

Always the designer never the bride Book Review
Always the designer Never the Bride keeps the laughter going and the tears rolling, funny, romantic and damn well crazy. This book introduced a litany of characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. The third in the series, though I read as a standalone, this book brings to life every girls dream.
The book is set at the The Tanglewood Inn, a wedding destination hotel in historic Roswell, Georgia. The book brings to life Audrey Regan crazy...more

Sandra Bricker calls her fiction "LOL" or Laugh Out Loud Romantic Comedy for the Inspirational Market. I believe with the third installment of the "Always the... Never The Bride" series, Bricker has struck laugh out loud literary gold.

The hilarious gang from The Tanglewood Inn are back, and everyone will enjoy this title as much as all the extremely funny ones that came before!
This story follows Audrey Regan - a girl who used to design haute couture for her Barbie dolls when she was only nine-years-old. Audrey loved separating crystals and beads with her grandmother, even though her sister, Carly, used to get into all the little boxes and mess everything up.
Audrey is all grown-up now with a company of her own; she designs the...more

The third instalment of the Emma Rae Celebrations series will leave you laughing out loud and cheering on the vibrant cast of females that overcome one comically disastrous hurdle after another. Who knew that wedding planning could be so devious and destructive! The chemistry between Audrey and JR sent smoke signals from my Kindle. So far, my favorite in the series! Welcome back to The Tanglewood Inn, all your old friends are there. Emma and Jackson are still engaged, Sherilyn and Andy are still hosting BBQ's in the winter, & Fee and Sean are still going strong. Then there are the singles, Russell Walker is back and we get to know J.R. better. And what would we do without Aunt Sophies words of wisdom, even if they are giving under somewhat questionable states of sanity. The new commers for this book include Carly and D...more
Audrey is busy making her tenth wedding gown for her friends, this time for her best friend, Carly. She wonders if she will ever be the one wearing the gown. Audrey is also scheduled to design the wedding dress for the famous hotel magnate’s daughter, Kim Renfroe; in fact, she thinks her future career as a wedding dress designer hinges on it. When the deal falls through, she feels her career is over. Now how will she get her strained finances in order? The developments that follow encourage Audr...more
I started reading this book second on accident and it wasn't making much sense until I read the second book first (for obvious reasons). When I finally got things straightened out, this book was a lot more enjoyable.
We start with Carly (who we met briefly last book) who is having a formal wedding at The Tanglewood (she's already married but got married at the courthouse so this is the formal wedding). Her best friend, Audrey, who is an up and coming wedding dress designer, comes in from New Yor...more

Good, Clean Fun!
Audrey grew up in Atlanta, but for years, she has tried to make it in New York as a wedding dress designer, designing individual wedding gowns. She is at the end of her inheritance and her luck. Now, she has to go back to Atlanta to see her best friend married in one of her gowns. While she is there, her world turns upside down both with her business and her love life, and new opportunities opening up all around.

This book is supposed to be about RJ and Audrey. I felt it wasn't. It is about Audrey's business and just about every other character in the book. I didn't feel like I learned anything about RJ.
Ok, so that is really my big beef. How are you supposed to engage in a book and support the romance if you are seeing everybody's romance but the one your supposed to be focusing on. I felt like the two main characters never got the spot light enough to show the relationship advancing. You were told it w...more

I read this one first and I didn't even realize it was a series until I marked it as currently reading in Goodreads. It reminded me of Nora Roberts series but I liked this one better. The Roberts wedding series has good writing but it's plot is predictable. The characters are a little more eccentric and it has a bit more flavor. I also liked that it was a Christian series without shoving God in your face.

Audrey and Carly go waaay back. Now Audrey has designed a one of a kind Audrey Reagan exclusive dream wedding dress for Carly's dream one of a kind wedding.
Her best friend's wedding should be a breeze for Audrey, but Audrey has sunk everything she has into her fledgeling Couture Bridal Gown Design Business and it is breathing its last gasp- the only solution Audrey sees on the horizon is a demanding celebrity Bridzilla who threatens Carly's wedding and Audrey's solvency.

I liked the book. I like returning to the city and characters that I met in the first two books of the series. This was not my favorite of the three. So far, I really like the second book (Always the Wedding Planner...) best. That said, I enjoyed the different direction that this story took us in, with elements of the reality of having a spouse or loved one serving our country, the developing feelings between Audrey and J.R., and the way that the other characters lives continue to be interwoven...more
This book may be one of the most pleasant surprises I have read in awhile. Once I picked it up I was so drawn into the characters that I couldn't put it down. It isn't a mystery or suspense, it's not like I was trying to figure out whodunit, I just had to find out what was going to happen in the lives of these great characters. I also have to point out that I have not read the other books in this series and it didn't hold me back at all, but now I can't wait to go back and read them now so I can...more

There is something about the “Emma Rae” collection of fiction novels that makes me smile, giggle and upon the close of that last page, give just a tiny sigh delight and comfort…like enjoying a yummy plate of your favorite desert. Decadent, with just the right amount of fluff and sweet.

Audrey is a wedding dress designer and J.R. is a motorcycle designer. They come from different worlds and yet they are so similar.
I have to tell you I'm really enjoying this series. Each character just leaps off the page. One of my favorite aspects of the series is the familial bond these friends develop and welcome other into. And the friendships don't seem superficial at all. In fact, each time a friendship really shines it is for a pure and heartfelt reason.

This is part of a serier od books by Sandra but you most definately do not need to read them in order. Each stands alone but does bring the other couples from her other books into the story.
This is Audrey's story. Audrey, is a struggling designer and has designed her best friend, Carley's wedding dress. She flies to Atlanta to be the maid of honor at the wedding. There she meets John Robert and as much as she tries she likes him.

Sandra D. Bricker is the Babe Ruth of romantic comedy with one home run after another! Third in the hilarious series, I didn't want Always the Designer, Never the Bride to end. Bricker makes her characters your best friends and you want to keep hanging out with them. She doesn't take her readers down totally predictable paths in the story, and Always the Designer follows that tradition. Up to the last page, I wasn't sure what she would do with Audrey and J.R. A continuation in a 4-book series by the author. Audrey Reagan, a dress designer - and who doesn't need one of those when contemplating your wedding day? - who hasn't made it in NYC, despite all her efforts to the contrary. Lured to Atlanta by her friend who is about to (re)marry the man of her dreams, Audrey finds new direction in her life, as well as a new love. What I like about this series by Ms. Bricker is that each book can stand alone, even as it brings in characters from the previous boo...more
Well, here was a shocker. Any more, I'm gun shy when I pick up a romance. But this one - no swearing, NO sex, not even drinks stronger than root beer. I'm serious. It was kind of weird. As far as the story - it was okay. Trouble with most romances is the people are just a little too not real. A bunch of 30-something women having a monthly slumber party was too cutesy for me. And they were all supposed to be in their 30s, but often the dialogue felt too young for that. However, I was pleasantly s...more
