THOUGHTS

Untouched was an unforeseen delight for me and a bit of fresh air. What allowed me to enjoy it was the shifter aspect of different animals to the storyline and the different Amoveo clans. Amoveos are shape shifting animals that lives amongst humans and needs to find their mate while avoiding and unmasking their enemies.

The opening scene and first chapter, which includes Kerry and Dante’s first interaction, sets the pace and chemistry throughout the story for both characters. I really enjoyed seeing their attraction for each other unfolds. Kerry has a special gift that allows her to be psychic with just a touch. I found that to be interesting as she is a world famous model. She has also built a shield around her that hasn’t allowed anyone in expect, Samantha. Dante is an Amoveo and his clan and shifter form is the fox. He knows that Kerry is his mate and knows that she is in danger. He is sent to her next assignment as her bodyguard. How the story was being told and its progress kept my attention. I liked all the components the author uses to convey the story by using telepathy, diverse animal shifters and psychic abilities. Learning about the purist network has my mind curious as a lot was revealed in the end that leaves you anticipating more.

The other characters that gave us a good read were Samantha, Kerry’s best friend and Malcolm, Dante’s best friend from book 1. The other two I really enjoyed and will be looking forward to their stories are, William of the falcon clan and Steven of the coyote clan. I have to admit when I think about William’s story in my head, I think of the movie Ladyhawke.

This was a very enjoyable read with an interest plot and characters. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the prior book in ‘The Amoveo Legend’ but quickly caught on to the events that took place and I still will be reading book 1 in the series.

Book Two in Humphreys The Amoveo Legend series. Thought I better get myself caught up before Untamed gets here; Especially since luck allowed me to win an ARC (so I can read and review it for Sara).

Humphrey starts us out at Samantha and Malcom's wedding - which is a brilliant move. It only cements the relationship of Unleashed's heroine and hero.

Kerry is a plus-sized model who is harboring a secret. When she touches people she gets agonizing pain that leaves her incapacitated. Because of this, she's lived in a world isolated from everyone due to what she feels is a curse--until she met Dante.

Dante sees Kerry and knows that she's the woman that he was meant to be with. He's a shifter and part of a race of beings called the Amoveo. These shifters are destined to find their one true mate, and Dante's finally found her. However, she doesn't know what her true nature is. There are dangerous people out there who do know what she is though, so Dante has to convince her of what they are, protect her from the bad people, and get her to love him.

This book was just fantastic. UNTOUCHED is the second book in the Amoveo Legend series, but it can be read as a standalone. It follows the story of the Amoveo shifters and their mates, and the storyline was riveting. The legend of the shifters and the half-human hybrids as well as the people who would like to see the hybrids killed kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen.

The heat between Kerry and Dante was as steamy as it was romantic. I love the idea that because he knows they are fated, Dante doesn't fight the pull between them. Kerry on the other had had a lot to deal with because she spent her whole life thinking she couldn't touch anyone without doubling over in pain. I thought her struggles with the blossoming relationship endeared her to me even more.

Overall, I felt that UNTOUCHED had it all: amazing world-building, a great plot full of suspense and mystery, great characters, and of course a fated romance. I cannot wait to continue with this fantastic series. I feel that this author, Sara Humphreys, really knows what paranormal romance is about!(less)

Sara Humphreys did a great job with this book, the romance and the mystical aspect of the story are present and even more than in the first book but we also get a lot more of suspense. In this book, we share the romance of the fox Dante, Malcom’s cousin, and Kerry, best friend of Samantha. While protecting Sam, Dante has discovered that the mate that was escaping him in the dream realms was in fact Kerry, protected by her psychic shield, and that explains also why he tried to protect her in the first book. Kerry is like we learned earlier avoiding the touch of everyone except Sam but it’s only know that we discover the real reason for that ( I won’t say more so no spoilers here ^^). Dante will have to help her overcome her instinctual protection to create a trust and a real link with her but before that he must understand her and she isn’t like she wants people think she is. There is an immediate spark but it’s not enough and he must work to get his girl and make her trust and love him. I really like this aspect of the relationship. Yes they are predestined but they still can refuse it, and suffers the consequences of course.

The plot is building more quickly than in the first book, thanks to all that we learned in it and right at the beginning Dante knows the dangers and the risks. So this book is also darker than the first one, the group knows they must be careful and can’t trust everybody is their own camp and that has an impact on their mood and on the way they react to threats. They have to rely on each other while they are trying to navigate between the Purist and the Cadeo and all the others that could pose a problem to mixed mating pairs. While the situation seems desperate, there are always lights somewhere and they will have to look for them while keeping hope.

This is a great paranormal romance and I like the fact that there is a global plot underneath that links all the books together in a real series and not as addition of stand alones. Sara Humphreys writing style is fresh and inviting, you understands the difficulties the characters encounter and you suffer with them when treachery strikes. We find again with joy Malcom and Sam that while they aren’t the principal couple, are still important and not just put in the story to gain point with the readers. A real pleasure, even if the kind of shapeshifters that are dominant in this book are more common.(less)

Dante Coltari knows Kerry is his mate the moment he laid eyes on her. Kerry is a half breed, half-human half-amoveo, which is why it’s taken Dante so long to find her but no that he has he will do anything to protect her. With Kerry being a half breed many of Dante’s race want her dead so they can keep the amoveo bloodlines pure. Dante must also convince Kerry what she is and show her the pleasure of touch that only he can give her.

As a huge shapeshifter fan I loved this book! This is the second book in the Amoveo Legend series but it can be read as a stand alone without feeling lost or confused. This book picks up right after the first one and the attraction between Kerry and Dante sparks from their first encounter. I love when the couple in the book are mates especially when the male knows they are mates and the female doesn’t.

Dante does a great job teasing Kerry and trying to win her heart. He does an even better job throwing her for a loop by slowly showing her that she can touch him and not feel pain. It is so fun to see Kerry learn and enjoy being touched for the first time and how gentle and caring Dante is with her. To say I swooned over Dante is an understatement and he made the book for me.

There was a lot going on in this book with a great twist at the end that I never saw coming. It’s always fun to be kept on your toes and guessing what’s going to happen next to keep things interesting. I am not sure whose book is ext but I can’t wait to read it. This is a great shifter series and is being added to my must read pile ASAP. (less)

She always felt like something was wrong with her because they really did not want anything to do with her.
Dante is a sexy Amoveo who is apart of the Fox clan. He’s had it rough since what happened in the last book. He knows there’s something different about Kerry and he knows also that she’s his mate after seeing her on the beach for the first time. He has to find away to tell her about him and also find out what she is exactly.
Kerry is half human and half Amoveo just like her best friend, Samantha who is from the previous book. In the first book, Kerry was put into the dilemma between the Clans and she didn’t even realize it.
In “Untouched”, Kerry is sent on a modeling job down in New Orleans and of course the sexy Dante goes with her as a bodyguard. While they are there, they find out the job has switched to a old house. For some reason, the old man there doesn’t want them inside of it.
Also, while on her modeling job Kerry is being threaten by “The Punisher” which is Dante’s mission to find out who it is. He knows it has to do with something with Kerry being half Amveo., but he doesn’t know who to trust. Malcolm and Samantha end up helping out with it, but of course they end up in the crossfire again in this book.
In between, the chaos of the modeling job and “the Punisher”, Dante and Kerry end up hooking up and the chemistry between them is perfect. They fit well together and there is no way Kerry can resist Dante and vice versa.
In the end, when I found out who the killers were, I definitely wasn’t expecting it. I also wasn’t expecting the twist that Sara threw into the book about Kerry. Yes…Sara…you had me crying at the end. I felt so sorry for Kerry. At least Dante was there for her and she got some closure.
This book will have you crying, turning the pages for more, and loving the characters.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves Shifters and loves Paranormal Romance.
Sara definitely has a fan for life and I look forward to the next book in the series this November, which to me is too far away at the moment. =) (less)

As seems to be the case lately, I didn't read book one of this series. Regardless, I easily jumped into Sara Humphreys' Amoveo series with book two, Untouched. As I write this I'm consumed with a feeling of deja vu. I could swear I've written this review before.

When I started reading the book it was clear that I missed an entire story. The heroine and hero from book one, Untouched, are getting married. The heroine of Untouched is the bride's best friend and is suffering from a major case of guilt resulting from the events of book one. The most important thing to know going into the book is that an Amoveo is an ancient race of shapeshifters. If you know that everything else will fall into place.

The heroine, Kerry, comes across as cold until the reader learns of her inability to touch people without sensing deep secrets about that individual. She has learned the need to keep to herself, but when she is forced to accept Dante's help she learns there is so much more waiting for her in life. This knowledge makes her more human and I was willing to give her a shot.

Dante knew right away that Kerry was the woman for him. Making her believe it, well that took much longer. He had to deal with her inability to let down her guard while protecting his mate from people who want her dead. These people are known as Purists, but it's a while before details are known about them.

The story has action, but it isn't the "grip your seat" type. Untouched is full of information. Vital to the series information, so it's not a book you should skip. Different factions of Amoveos are introduced. Prejudices are exposed. Love is found, given and accepted. It's a good story and I think those who love shifters will enjoy it.

This book was incredible from start to finish, I so wasn’t expecting Pasha to be the Punisher and I wasn’t expecting her brother, Boris to be the other person in the cage and I totally cried when Joseph died. I love how no matter what, these stories all have happy endings. I can’t wait to read Steven’s Boris stories. :)

Wow! iTunes released pre-orders a few days ahead of schedule so I was able to dive back in sooner than expected! Dante and Kerry are entertaining so far and Samantha and Malcolm are along for the adventure... Back to reading I go!

Entertaining and a fun ride! Now with the teaser at the end of the book I'm waiting for November and book 3!!

Kerry and Dante's story was magnificent!! If you've not read book one, Unleashed, I'd totally recommend you do before grabbing this one. Although both stories can be read independently, the characters from book one are in the second so definitely one to read in order if you can. Being a big fan of Sara and having the privilege of reading original An Amoveo Heart and then the new version ARC Unleashed waiting for the new release of Untouched after a year and a half it is outstanding. LOVE UNTOCHED!!! And the great part at the end Amy Petty her song "Honey on the Skin" was written for the video clip that was done for Untouched orignal copy love her!!!! In book two of Sara Humphreys' Amoveo Legend, Sensual Decadence meets sinister decay. Unleashed was good but Untouched steps up the game. Set in New Orleans and the Bayou Humphreys manages to use the setting to exploit the feel of this book.

Dante Coltari is reeling from the betrayal of his father. Knowing that Brendan was willing to even sacrifice his son to the purist belief totally devastates him. There was always something blocking him, something keeping him from reaching out to her. But at his best friends wedding he finds her.. finally. Only trouble is she has absolutely no clue.

Kerry Smithson has spent her entire life alone.. literally untouched. Adopted young she can not be touched. Whenever anyone touches her or she touches them she can read their deepest secrets and if that isn't bad enough, she is in excruciating pain. With the one exception of her best friend, Samantha who she has always seen a wolf on those few occasions that they touch (hmmmm). With all that she manages to have a wonderful life and a successful career as a plus sized model. Yeah, I watch America's Next Top Model.. all that means is she is a size 8 or above (so not getting on that soapbox but believe me there is one).

At Samantha and Malcolm's wedding it is decided that the beautiful Kerry needs to be protected. While she remains in ignorance she is Dante's mate.. as well as a hybrid human/Amoveo just like Sam. Samantha and Malcolm "hire" Dante as her bodyguard much to Kerry's dismay. But soon enough she realizes all is not as it should be, for starters she can TOUCH Dante.. and all she feels is sweet freedom and a sensual sensation.. oh and she sees a fox. Bright girl that she is she begins to realize that something is off.

Once they reach New Orleans all sorts of things start happening.. this is where the wonder that is New Orleans comes to play.. there is something rotting in the Amoveo world.. The decay is starting to show and Kerry is most definitely at risk. Desperate to keep his mate safe, Dante calls in his friends.. we get to see William, Steven, Samantha and Malcolm again.. and meet some really great new characters.. I loved how Ms Humphreys intertwined her sensual delights with the corruptness of evil, the loyalty of friendship and the mystery of just who Kerry is. She also kept the questions coming until the very end. I must admit, I tend to figure out storylines very quickly.. but Ms Humphreys kept me guessing..

This was a great second book and I know that Untamed, the next book is fabulous but I can not wait to read more.. Ms Humphreys feel free to send me bits and pieces of your next book.. I am ever ready to share my thoughts with you (not to mention it will get me a sneak peak that much sooner)

All, this series is a must.. check out these books. As usual, I suggest you read them in order BUT Untouched works as a stand alone as well.

Sara Humphreys is the latest author I’ve found who’s taken my shifters and given them a bit of a twist.

Kerry is a model who’s known as an ice princess – she never touches anyone and stays as far away from people as she can get. What only a few know is that when she touches someone, visions and pain overtake her. What she doesn’t know is her heritage of being a shapeshifter to go along with her psychic gift. She’s a hybrid – born of an Amoveo father and a human mother – and the Purists are out to eradicate hybrids from their race.

Thus we meet Dante, a security specialist, who will be acting as Kerry’s bodyguard. Until he can work in the fact she’s also his mate. That has to be a slow and gentle unveiling. The Amoveo are ancient clans of a variety of shifters from eagles to panthers and everything in between. This is what I enjoy the most about this book. We’re dealing with a fox – Dante; a wolf – Samantha, Kerry’s best friend; an eagle – Malcolm, Samantha’s husband (both of whom are featured in Book 1, Unleashed); and several other animals, along with Kerry, who is a beautiful black panther. I like the fact we have different clans mating, rather than wolves with wolves and so forth like we normally read about.

Dante is determined to keep Kerry safe, not only because she’s his mate, but also because it was his father who was a major participant in the attack on Samantha, who is also a hybrid, in the previous book. Kerry’s next modeling assignment takes them all to New Orleans and an old, rundown house on the bayou. Another element of this story is that the characters can read energy of every kind, from loving to evil. The area where they’re working eventually takes on a very evil energy, only one more thing to add to the investigation of who’s behind all the recent break-ins and attacks.

Once Kerry begins to see Dante in a different light – she initially doesn’t care much for him – she now sees his desire to protect her, his loving nature, as well as his lust for her. And these two together do sizzle. Dante has to restrain himself around Kerry, at least until she knows exactly who and what he is, as well as who and what she is. So you can imagine the sexual tension by the time she’s ready. On that score, I like the fact we don’t have to wait until the last fourth of the book to experience their pleasure in one another.

When evil finally gets its clutches into our characters and it’s revealed who is behind it all, it is a surprise. This is where I also enjoyed them in their animal shapes. We see a totally different side both during capture and after, along with those who attempt rescue. Then we’re given another surprise combined with heartache as more information about Kerry is revealed. And this doesn’t end the betrayal, there are still those who need to be found, which will continue into the next book.

I have not read the first book in this series. While it would have been nice to have done so, I don’t feel I lost anything by starting here. I’m sure I would have gotten some information that might have helped a tad more while reading this story, but Ms. Humphreys does a good job of filling you in with little muss. If you’re a paranormal fan, give this series a try. I’m looking forward to getting caught up and then continuing on with Untamed later this year.

Kerry is a beautiful, intelligent, but untouchable high-fashion model, struggling with her psychic talents, which she looks at as being a curse, not a gift.. Dante, an utterly sensual, mesmerizing Amoveo Fox shifter, is full of depth, character & an attraction that grabs you right from the start. The chemistry between Dante & Kerry is deliciously steamy and explosive. The action & drama scenes are so compelling and attention-getting that I couldn't even put the book down until they were over! Kerry struggles to make it through her everyday world, unable to touch people because of excruciatingly painful visions.. Untouched by Sara Humphreys was a romantic novel. I must note that I have not read the 1st book in this series, Unleashed. I feel this might have effected by comprehension of some of the depth of the overall story. I will say that It is unusual for me to figure out the “who done it” in most paranormal romances since it is not the focus of the story, however this was not the case in Untouched. I love it when I am surprised to find out who the villain is! The relationship between Kerry and Dante was pretty steamy and you felt the connection they shared. I liked the diversity in personalities the characters had throughout the book as well. This book had all the right aspects: mystery, love, passion, and the evil villain. I enjoyed the story, but felt the book failed to suck me in completely. I really think that not reading the first book effected by ability to relate to Kerry and that was the missing piece. That being said overall this was a well written book with a fantastic world idea. I will be going back and reading Unleashed, book 1 of the Amoveo Legend.

I give Untouched by Sara Humphreys 4 out of 5 Bullets!(less)

This is the second in the Amoveo Legend series. While it is able to stand alone (I read it before book 1) I believe that there is a lot of information from “Unleashed” that would have helped me to understand or given me some background on the Amoveo and some of the other characters. However do not let that stop you from reading this one if you do not have the first one (or better yet pick up the first one to read as well).

Wedding bells are in the air in the second book of the series. Samantha is marrying her man and mate Malcolm. Kerry her best friend is concerned but seems to overall trust Samantha's decision.

I didn't realize that it was #2 but with this book, I wasn't lost and I could connect with the characters easily. I think that has mostly to do with each book presenting a couple within the Amoveo legend. However, I do want to read the first so I'm introduced properly with everyone.

Not only will it give the two of them a chance to get to know each other, it will keep Kerry safe from the threat of those among the Amoveo who would use violence to keep the race pure.

At first, Kerry rebels against Dante's presence, but she quickly realizes there is something special about him when she can touch him without pain. The story follows their path to one another as an evil Purist stalks Kerry and plans her destruction.

I didn't love the book. I think the biggest reason was because I didn't really connect with any of the characters. I'm not saying it was bad, because it wasn't. It just didn't inspire emotion in me. Perhaps it needed more sexual tension. Or more believable tension of any kind between Kerry and Dante. The tension they did have felt manufactured. Him calling her "princess" --while she called him "Neanderthal"-- felt trite. The love happened superfast. And it all left me feeling rather tepid.

The villain is essentially a caricature, though I will grant that the identity was a surprise. I felt like Kerry's reactions to the revelations about Dante and the Amoveo were understated. And it was all just... meh. Not bad. Just not great.

This is the second book in the Amoveo series and while the events of the first book are referenced, the author does a good job filling in the details and I never felt lost. I think it would be fine for new readers to jump in, even if they haven't read the first book. 3 stars.

This second story in the Amoveo Legend (wasn't it "Legacy" before?) is even better than the first. I loved Dante in Untouched and I also really liked Kerry - those two nearly stole the show from Sam and Malcolm in their own novel, and that was before they knew each other!
